ProudSAfrican:If we are to dissect your first sentence in your response a little further, I would argue that the importance of South Africa on the continent is substantive but "how" important/significant, is open to serious debate. In other words to SADC, it could be an extremely important country as most of its economic activity, centers on investments and the free flow of goods and services and Human capital within and through that bloc, as SA stands to be the most vibrant economy within that region. Taking another look in terms of West Africa, how truly important is it? Well for one, most Francophone West African nations rely much less, economically on South Africa as a trading partner in comparison to say Anglo's like Nigeria and Ghana whom represent in combined population size a highly potential market base to trade with and exploit. The East African bloc COMESA has its own conmbines economic base and is much more dependent on member states economically and commercially. This is not to exclude South African investments in that region, but there are investments from various African states that exist there too so that cannot be used as measure of importance in my opinion. Lastly the North Africans are a part of the continent as well and equally have little dependency on SA as a whole, sure little investments here and there but nothing significant enough as to put a dent in their economy if SA seizes to do business with them. So my friend your statement is wide open and sorry to tell you there is no rational to hating SA on the basis of what you intimated or just because it is SA. People hate SA because of Xenophobia, intolerance, apathy, discrimination, prejudice, sweeping indictments against foreign black nationals, and the likes. In other words all the symptoms inherited from an Apathied state |
ProudSAfrican:Wishing not to digress but I must address your rebuttal in entirety, so therefore; 1. My intelligence cannot be "pointless". A word or quote or statement I make can be "pointless" but not my intelligence. The quantity or speed at which my neurons process information can be "dysfunctional" but definitely not "pointless." 2. I already answered your question but unfortunately it is proving difficult for you to decipher. Let me help you out. Go back read your initial statement Then read my response to the initial statement Then read your subsequent response to MY initial statement which was posed as a question and then read my response which points to your subsequent "question response" and deduce that my subsequent response to your secondary response, if posed in subjective "inversion" would answer itself as a rhetorical and thus ultimately answer your question. I know, I know it sounds like jargon but it is quite intelligently stated... ![]() |
ProudSAfrican:The reverse statement if I were to word it exact as you would a rhetorical. It answers itself |
Jayceon:Merriams dictionary defines Diverting as a : to turn from one course or use to another : deflect b : distract <trying to divert her attention> 2 : to give pleasure to especially by distracting the attention from what burdens or distresses. Shall I explicitly state the diversionary statement that was used as a response to my initial statement or shall we assume you have enought sense to discern how to do that by yourself |
Jayceon:1.Spell "hypertension" properly 2. Rebuke, Refute or Rebut any of my assertions The response above is a diversion and void of thought. If you can't just say you can't, There is no shame. |
Jayceon:On the contrary, My brother used to read C++ books at the age of 13 built pictoral models on those old IBM computers and pretty much learnt elementary DOS commands ( a precursor to computer coding language) before the age of 15 . He was recently IQ tested and that crazy guy scored 150. Now if there is any truth to genetic resemblance in siblings, I wonder where my comprehensive IQ test would fall? Hmmmm? |
jagugu88li:You are not being truthful my brother, So all the televised Xenophobic attacks through out the years beginning officially in 2008 have not been channeled towards Nigerians. That is not true. If you had clarified the fact that Nigerians as a whole receive the lesser brunt of xenophobic sentiment because the Nigerian professional and student class live in more metropolitan and suburban areas and therefore are away from the the township areas, that would have been a fair statement. The reason the groups you mentioned are targeted more often is because a greater number of them they live in closer proximity to impoverished communities that are in competition for limited resource allocation. jagugu88li:I am in agreement with you that the Nigerian drug dealing element should be discriminated against with full prejudice of the law however the problem is when we are dealing with semi illiterate politicians and political posturing of people who make sweeping indictments in an atmosphere of undeniable xenophobic sentiment, exposing legitimate and legal "black" foreign nationals/economic migrants which include Nigerians and labeling them in a manner that encourages xenophobia and this my "brother" is the reality. |
MduZA:This was posted on a Nairaland forum so it has been made my business cause this is my house. Why are you here on Nairaland worried about what useless people are saying about your country. Shouldn't you be toyi toying for free education somewhere on the streets of Benoni? |
Jayceon:Delusions of grandeur. A while back the spotlight was cast on the Gambia in West Africa, that was the headline story trending and the issue which the AU was most concerned with. You do know what the AU is right, that African body that discuss real African issues. The perception that your country only matters in real African affairs borders on the ubiquitous perception in South Africa that many Africans are even aware of a country called South Africa. SADC countries may be familiar with your politics but I dare you to go to any francophone African country in the West, North, or central part of AFrica and talk about Malema or Maimane and see how their faces will be full of dumbfoundment. Jayceon:The level of your matric pass rates will be indicative of the latter part of your statement above. A substantial number of SA students can't even name 5 African countries outside of SADC even after hosting the CAF cup of nations and you think this is something to be proud of. I blame Apatheid for isolating your brains for so long that you really believe Africa begins in cape town and ends in the hinterlands of the limpop *shame* in South African accent. |
Are they?A reasonable amount of them are but i wouldn't say all White South Africans, mostly Boer Afrikaners. The ones of English descent who are a little less acculturized to the Afikaner mentally are more opened minded. |
ProudSAfrican:The reverse should be a questioned posed to most South Africans about other Africans especially towards Nigerians |
MduZA:We are well aware of the way you do South African things. You lot are very angry people, Always angry about something. Angry about school fees Angry at Orlando pilots for scoring 6-0 Angry about White people enjoying themselves in front of you. Angry about foreigners stealing your jobs and *some of your women* Angry about data prices Angry at the Guptas Angry at the indian's in Durban exploiting you Angry at ZUma for Nkandla Angry at Somali spaza shops And what do you do when you are angry, usually nothing constructive. A whole lot of toyi toying, singing, destroying property and then you go home sleep over it and come back the next day to do the same thing. Eish. The South African way!! |
LeSudAfricaine:Au contraire madmoiselle LeSudAfricaine, very important, it highlights how these high profile characters are becoming sell outs! |
LeSudAfricaine:what bout your traitoe DA member maimane who did the same thing and married a white lady just so he could move up the social ladder claiming so called non racial society gibberish meanwhile we all know his party aka the whites are using him as a poster boy so they can win back power from the Anc. Traitors |
MduZA:Ah keep quite Mduza. The traitor mdanla mandela just wanted some indian pussy and turned his back in his fore fathers and sold his heritage for some brown Kitty-Cat. Shame on him. Why didnt the girl convert to African religious customs. A way fir her own family to tap into the he mandela blood line |
Tumisang:Says a lot about you and how much you know about Morpheus's 8 years on Nairaland. |
PunkyVeer:Even Dbanj don run, you want me to put leg. Iro! |
PunkyVeer:I told you I am tribalist, no Nguni's. I can manage Swati girls but Xhosa. You will beat me and put poison in my food. You want my mother to cry! Tufiakwa! |
Naomithato1: Naomithato1:Madam I am also suspecting your authenticity, for one the way you write your English to my recollection is not the way a "Coloured" would form sentences. You must prove your authenticity. Give me your address in Abuja and I will come take you out on a date! |
The South African hit squad is out again-VandalZA, Punky, Tumi and that fake French LesudAfrikaaner girl. What did I miss? Damn Tumisang, don't you contribute to any other topic on Nairaland? Don't let me shut this thread down. Be nice Wena! |
PunkyVeer:See yourself, Wetin you dey do for "romance" section. Hmmmmmm / |
PunkyVeer:PunKy, Me and you no fit mix o! I like the ladies who take care of me like a man and I take of them in return. We cannot both put leg in the same trouser! lol |
PunkyVeer:Everything I said just flew over you coo coo brain SMH! |
PunkyVeer:The subject matters are inter- related, stop trying to come off smart. You say your government doesn't have resources to keep up with every thing goin on including Xenophobia, I reply that is the reason for aggrieved people to organize under the Law You state the government is occupied with issues facing "our' country. What are these issues; Corruption, high unemployment and High crime. I respond you don't need to worry about doing anything for Nigerians as it pertains to the aforementioned issues. If you can't deal with them in the light of your internal issues, send them packing. What is out of context? |
PunkyVeer:They are organized and are abiding by a law of freedom of association guaranteed for people( not only citizens) who live in South Africa. Whether you find that funny or not it is a way of consolidating grievances when your "authority" cannot by your own words manage the realities of the situation. PunkyVeer:Again, please face your issues in your country, nobody asked you to concentrate, help out or feed any Nigerian who chooses to make a living in "your" country. "Your" country has a historical reputation of getting away with gross injustices in the guise of protecting its citizens whether in "apartheid" or in the new post 1994 government. If you cannot handle the Nigerians please lobby to send all of them back including legal law abiding and illegal ones to their country since you cannot deal with the realities of the 21st century and there will be no need for such organizations to act as Watch dogs in "your" country. Shikena! |
DictatorZAR:Spoken like a true CAPE COLORED! You do not disappoint! |
PunkyVeer:Nobody begged you to report or focus on it. We vis a vis an organized association are doing that ourselves by highlighting these incidents since Media have the power to skew incidents to fit their Government or national agenda. What I would suggest is people start video taping these things on camera. Footage is very powerful and cannot be ignored The relevant question to be asked is, is it happening? Are the facts accurate? Advanced countries like the US are tackling Police brutality on the Black/AFrican American community that is an injustice being perpetrated by law enforcement. Hmmmm? |
DictatorZAR:Slim chance my tactics will end up closing the thread, This BS thread been going on for a couple of years now, its practically embarrassing at this point. As far as the Boko haram suicide bomber outfit there, A simple response of " Jou ma se poes!" will suffice ![]() |
vandalZA:Bros e dey hot no be small for here. We no get winter season. Boko don kill our northern brothers yesterday Buhari just return from Yankee EFCC dey chase everybody left right and center. NEPA don dey give us better light for we area! SAi BABA! |
