For all: I think we need to understand that it is imperative that Fashola out perform his predecessor. If he does not then he would be a huge failure. His performance should not be a basis to castigate the man before him. I am nobody's apologist but if you want to "call a spade a spade" it is unfair to talk of Tinubu here as if he did absolutely nothing and that he probably is a worse thief than OBJ or any of the PDP governors then.

Please do us the favour of outlining Marwa's "acheivements" alongside Tinubu's to justify your wild claims and judgement.

I read the origina newspaper report of the purchase of the aircraft. There was nowhere in that report that it was stated that "Pastor Adeboye Acquired" the aicraft. There are obviously very many stupid posters in this forum who want to blindly twist a report.

RCCG acquired the aircraft not Pastor Adeboye. People should learn to tell themselves the truth. No matter the reservation we may have about a church that still has so many poor people in its fold acquiring a 4b naira aircraft it should not be used to single out Pastor Adeboye for villifying.

I frankly see this issue as indicating that as Xtians (priests and laity) we may be lacking far more knowledge of God than we are ready to admit. How will the verdict on the day of reckoning be if all disobedience end in damnation? I cannot imagine how many Pastor/Pastor Mrs that will be found on the wrong side of God.

I say the above because every practice in flagrant contradiction to the words of 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:9-15 is disobedience. It does not matter who is ratifying it.

This is one of those areas where the Pentecostal fellowship has missed it.

My pastor as warned us on several occassions that if we make any ill gotten money we should not bother to bring any of it to the church as it is not acceptable in the sight of God. My pastor also doesn't present himself like a demi -God who is uncontrovertable. We don't idolize pastors in my church we just give them their due respect. In a case were you go to a church a the pastor is the central focus and people see him as God and the pastor is not correcting them but actually actively encouraging them, then the pastor can be said to be serving his own interest and NOT doing the will of God. The foolish sycophant followers follow such pastors cause the pastors have given them the impression that they are god's representative

I read the criteria for nomination over again and I don't see how OBJ and Aliko Dangote (and any other one of the younger generation of super "investors" currently making the wave in Nigeria) could make this list.

There are surely many other names that should have come up in this list (someone just mentioned Achebe). Anyway Ben Bruce na business man sha and silverbird na profit making organisation. Same goes for Vanguard.

Like I said I'm equally alarmed. And I agree with you that, if this story is indeed true, the timing is indeed is not so good. A private jet at any time that there are still army of unemployed people, poverty stricken families in the church will remain difficult to justify by some of us.

Not a bad idea but the money should have been used for better constructive purposes:

(i) To ease the traffic jam during any convention i.e building a bridge that will link up from ibadan expressway to rccg camp or it's own private route from Lagos and ibadan to rccg camp.

(ii) To finish up the new auditorium and refurbish the entire redemption camp by introducing lates technology, better transport system, better condusive environment and reosrt areas.

(iii) Increase the standard of it's academic level, health care, and Media tecnology i'e rcccg tv, radio and news channel etc.

Right judgement will start from the altar. But the word advises us to be wary of condemnation, especially the expression we employ.

You know Kunle it does not matter what your opinion is men are specifically called by God to be Pastors etc (that is clearly stated in the bible, at least), so if anyone of them miss the point on any issue the final judgement and name calling should with the one who indeed commission them. And like Isaid in earlier posts on this thread, if indeed there is any such purchase it is more likely by donors and not with any tithe or church money. And if I'm right (which I'm persuaded I am) then on which side will you stand with God and the Holy Spirit when more details come to the open considering your name calling.

Kunle if indeed you fellowship with the Holy Spirit the good Lord would have cautioned u against some of your expressions in ur posts according to His word.

If you don't want to criticise "the man" then you shouldn't use such language as shame etc. You have probably heard, on more than one occassion, Pastor Adeboye talk about people whose life dream is to buy a private jet for him. It may be bad timing but their dream will probably have to come true someday. And I think if that is the case they are happy it did.

Though it is hard to justify but I do know that it is very likely that this is another gift from a group of church members. All his big automobiles are through the same means and not from church's purse. Whether Daddy GO should have accepted it or not is another question which the only mortal who can answer it is himself.

I must confess my first knowledge of the Eko Atlantic project is through this thread. I have visited the website and have not seen anything potraying it as another project to be funded with public fund. It does not seem a project affordable by any state govt in Ngr in 8yrs. And as other sensible posters have pointed out this is another private financed project. When (if) completed will in no small way contribute to the economy of the state.

The tundeoshobs here continue to raise the issue of the 4th mainland bridge. Their ignorance will not let them know that that was a BOT project that the private financiers grew cold feet because they could see that their investment was insecure with the kind of politics that obj liked to play then.

If you have the fund you can (I believe) approach Lagos state govt to finance the 4th mainland bridge. They should be more than ready to do biz with you.

Every govt I have known in Nigeria had threatened an harassed us with "we will remove subsidy, we will remove subsidy". Now that they have done it (or are they just planning) lets see what else they will say they are going to remove so that they will do well.

One of the things that these JAMB figures indicate is that the population of this race called Igbo in Nigeria is higher than what the population census and the population estimates adduce.

However I know that we should have about 30%  more Igbos than contained in the census, and even that of other estimates, living in other parts of the nation partticularly in the SW. You only need to be in the east during Xmas to confirm what I'm saying. This aspect is one that I think should be decided
