Inter-tribal marriage is a very serious thing with many challenges. It must flow from a conscious decision by a matured mind. If you say you are both students or recently so, then I think she is not matured enough to take such a decision. Don't let lust push you to a decision you may end up regreting.

PETERiCHY:
Some people tend to be blinded by their selfish interest. I ve been an entrepreneur for the past 19yrs so I talk from experience. Now let's d calculation. For the past 52wks most stocks in NSE has lost btw 50-100% but Oando is still above 100%. and has been hovering btw #23 and #27 for the past 4mths. not minding they recently paid 1.5billion dollars for COP, still went ahead to propose #1:00k dividend for their shareholders and they even promise to be paying interim dividend henceforth. So how tell me how Wale has deceived us?
Well if you talk of deception ask those in OKOMUOIL. SKYEBANK. UBA. ACCESSBANK. FIDELITY. to mention but few.
Ma broda, don't mind them. They claim its the worse stock, they also say its a backruptcy vehicle, they have been praying and campaigning for it to fall(but it continues to defy their predictions) one has even threatened oanda shareholders after calling them names(yet oanda faithfuls remain loyal) They claim not to have a single oanda share and that they will never buy it even, if it were the most performing stock, yet they monitor the stock even more than Wale Tinubu himself. In fact I now depend on oando haters for current news including price and volume of the stock traded. E remain make them tell us the particular person wey buy the share and at what price.

There you have it, dear PrOpHeT.

You're about to discover that a company, in principle, is configured to outlive it's shareholders.

It is also very likely that the shareholders will never live to see their precious NOAH's ARK priced at the NGN 100.
Na you go kill them? If you don't like the company, leave it for those of us that do. It is our money that will get lost, not yours.

@house,
Am already planning towards 2015. Going forward, this is what I intend to do:
Am moving out of the banks cos I think the cbn regulation and headwind is going to extend till 2015 and I feel the scenario in the banking sector is going to be the same as this year if not worse. The banks will definitely declare dividends as usual but it might fall.
I am pitching my tent majorly with companies in the consumer sector and also oil and gas. I feel these companies should be able to give me the capital appreciation I desire.
Last week, I read a FITCH assessment of the banking sector and they predicted an 18months period of low earnings due to tight regulatory measures.

ucheson2: Many have applauded the so called transcorp hotel ipo. May I ask them some questions:

1. what is the present shares in issue of THP?

2. Have you multiplied the said issue share by the N10 they are telling you to buy their ipo, do you think those two hotels one in Abuja and one in Calaba are worth that amount?

3. What are the features and capacities of the two new hotels they wish to build with the whole of N8,000,000,000?

4. Why were all the articles about this ipo scilent on these and other important issues? ......
I did my last participation in ipo in 2007 and I have vowed never to do anymore until Nigeria becomes like America. Following my experience in Finbank, Daar coms, etc ipos, I have come to the conclusion that they are nothing but official and organised fraud.

Charlesnerd: How long have you used Meritrade?

How would you rate their customer care?

I am shopping for a broker with real-time trading facility. Its between Morgan and Meritrade ,undecided.
I don't really know much about Meritrade, but with Morgan you must be ready to call and call and call and sent emails, text messages etc from time to time. Inshort I know what I went through to open my acct with them, and at the end of the day, I had to open another acct with a smaller broking firm for peace of mind. Before Morgancapital and Faithfuls decend on me, note that I am not a competitor, am just one of those that feel things can be done without having to do followups and complaints. I think Morgan is either a little bit overhyped or cannot cope with the volume of new accts.

passwelle: No conspiracy anywhere. People make money on the bourse, and it is always from other people. As this is a public fora, with people of different backgrounds who may read "you cant go wrong" and act on it, folks are just pointing out salient observations on the stock and its results e.g why is there no EPS in any of the 2014 results? Yet we have an interim declared. Who here knows the OS of Oxygen for a fact? Folks here compare it with FO and Seplat and expect a similar meteoric rise, well FO has a little over 1b OS and Seplat has 500m plus OS. Go figure. We are here to help ourselves. Ask the folks who didnt take heed to Feelamong's warning late Aug on Transcorp's dead cat bounce, or the Cocoa lovers who just got served.
My broda, its not just about OS. You must also consider the assets, revenue and profit. Oando's revenue and H1 profit more than doubled that of FO even without proceeds from COP. Mind you CoP proceeds will start being considered from the q3 results, as those preceedinq Q3 were used for the conclusion of the cop deal. Both FO and Oando are heavily indebted to financial institution(FO's power transactions). Those comparing FO with Oando may afterall not be far from the reality. With due respect to analysts in this forum who seem to now better than all of Oando's accounts department, those at NSE, institutional investors and reputable technical analyst whose business it is to deal with these issues and who have so far not expressed any serious doubt on the result as published, I wish to make it clear that I place my full reliance on the results as published, while awaiting my dividends and a steady rise in prise to my exit point(that is if I go even exit this bus). I entered oando at 11.30 and increased at 25:50, I trust WT and his very ambicious team(no risk no gain in life) I trust Oando to exceed 100 in about 6months. I will certainly not wait for any right issue, as I accumulate(right issue go be jara). Hater can keep hating, while I make my money. My sympathies to those long on this bus who could not wait to reap the benefits of few years of investments and expansion by WT.

mpi210: The qualification date of the interim dividend far no be small.

They might throw in the rights issue before that date........

Sharp guys!!
It would not make sense for WT to throw in rights issue before that day because at that price, he will not raise much money. He will push the price so much that any right issue would yeild enough fund(mind you the purpose of right issues are for fund/capital raising) I suspect WT will release the Q3 result reflecting gains from COP, immediately after the qualification date so as to sustain a rise in the share price, prior to the rights issue. Note that the released result does not contain any gain from COP.

passwelle: Yes you did. Are you not surprised? I am very very surprised Sir. I dont know what your line of business is, but would you not be surprised to hear of any company that earned 23k (page 2 of their audited statements) and plan to pay out 30k dividend?
grin
the truth is, I never really expected them to pay anything at all, but since its oando, anything can happen. Just wait for the 2014 full year result and get the father of all surprises. But remember I told you it would look like magic to many, including the guy that asked what company would keep a fantastic result for so long. My personal opinion is that their 2014 year end result would surpass that of 2013 by over 200%.
As the saying goes, not a buy or hold recommendation, do your due diligence. By the way, where is Myjoy08 make I thank him.

Mpeace: I'm begining to understand myjoy08's believe in oando, and I now see some sense in the believe that they may post a very impressive result(whenever they decide to) and even pay dividends. I just did a personal analysis of the whole COP deal, and my conclusion is that the whole sum spent in the purchase would not reflect in the profit and loss analysis. They may only appear in the liabilities column, and almost every company on the exchange do have liabilities(large or small). For instance, the sum borrowed from several financial institutions by FO and Transcorp to finance their power sector acquisitions did not reflect as losses in their results. Although there are outstanding payments to be made on the COP deal, the proceeds of the acquired company's buisness may just be used to defray the outstanding sum while that of the rights issue would go to the settlement of liabilities to financial institutions. I also think that the delays in releasing the result and the whole hide and seek game are justa n attemt at making investors to sell in frustration, while WT and friends mop up and accumulate more shares. Just an opinion(I might be wrong).

Take a look at Transcorp's 2013 result, you will find that the sum borrowed and spent on acquisitions and other projects did not reflect in the profit and loss section(result at a glance on pg 5) but were mentioned in pg44 (2.16) as "capitalised".http://transcorpnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Transcorp-PLC-2013-Annual-Report.pdf.

nitrogen: You sure about the bolded? I think it is your bank that always give you a certain rate, with you thinking that it is the secondary market you are buying from, the minimum volume required for secondary market purchase or sale is 250m. Well, maybe your fund is close to or well over 250m, and if that is the case, then you have been accessing the secondary market truly.

By the way, the last time I checked, you can get 10.60 or so for a mid-tenor bill in the secondary market, also, there are Omo bills at 10.75/10.80.

It all depends on your advisor sha.
I also buy from the secoondary market with far lesser fund. The minimum is 100k and you can actually buy on any working day of the week, that is why I like it. I use diamond bank.
