Mcy56: Well said! Guess you referred to me here as well. Well, i noticed that you people stopped replying enquiries here. The experts are nowhere to be found, they thus resorter to asking the person available. I think you people should come back! When they ask, you can always answer them professionally and give more direction when one person err or is going off lane. Keeping silent and ignoring them cos they're new to the system is not too good as far as I'm concerned. You guys started from somewhere too. No need to wait to condemn someone else's good intention. This is my view of the situation of things here. I made my comment partly because of the bolded. Some analyst here would highlight a stock and reserve details of their reasons. But they would not comeback to tell when they changed their minds on the stock, forgetting that many newbies, relying on their earlier highlights, must have made reasonable investments on those stocks believing the "promoter" to have equally keyed in. Latter na regrets go follow and you will hear the promoter saying things like "I bailed out(secretly) last year at... with tesere profit" meanwhile the newbie continue to suffer in losses. |

Mcy56: This is a difficult question o. OGG is in best position to answer this. In my opinion anyway, you may take the risk or look at 6.30. You'll have to provide me with a signed indemnity form sha.
NB: Let's be guided by global happenings as well. uchetobe once said he would make some revelations on the stock including the projected share price. Nothing till now. People don tie down money for this stock sote them lose all the dividends that zenith, uba, wapco etc had to offer. This life |

Mcy56: Could be anytime from 1st week of May I think. Zee already announced closed period. You know they have to submit to CBN for approval first, so it will take few weeks. I don't think those quarterly results are subjected to CBN approval before release. The results will start flowing soon, and most of them should be out before the 1st of May. |

stcool: They would lots of haircut...I see CBN asking banks to shore up their capital.
Currently only 2 Nigerian banks can withstand any shock from a crises. Or you have not seen the report.
Wait in coming weeks, when CBN starts hitting them. It would be so irresponsible of Govt to put such pressure on banks, given the current economic realities. Even when governments around the world are providing stimulus packages |

Mcy56: It's possible the effect of all these wouldn't even reflect in Q1 but in Q2, that's if the situation persists. Companies do have a way of generating revenues, especially banks irrespective of economic conditions. Don't be surprised if banks release good Q1 results cos of the highlighted factors self. People stayed at home and are spending, even more than when they're going out. Banks didn't shut down, they only reduce physical activities. The telecoms biz were/are booming too. Anyway, we'll see how it goes.... Banks will report some good results especially with the recent devaluation of the country's currency. Expend some fx gains. |

Mcy56: I can remember you saying they should pay up to N4 dividend too, more reason my faith was up too, that at-all at-all, they should pay N2 to N2.50. We should however still commend them for paying N1. What if they decided not to pay at all? In my opinion, paying part of the loan is a good course in a good direction too. With time and over years, the dividend should increase, all things being equal. We're observing how Mr. Market will handle it. The thing be say I don already plan for the money. Chain see money wet I for use buy enough zenith. Na Zenith bank dey my mind all weekend. The stock looks too too good for dividend purposes. Its better than tbills have given in many years. |

Mcy56: You've waited all these while, why sell now? At least let's see how the market react to the result first. NB: Wapco is on full bid now. Na this one you call full bid? The bids no plenty naa. If I put my small units up for sale e go just enter offer sharply. On another note, I am not too impressed with this result. Q3 2019, profit after tax was 20billion with EPs at 1.28. Now full year profit after tax is now 22billion EPs 1.44. It shows they only made 2billion in q4. That's not too good. I am also disappointed at the dividend declared. To be sincere with you I expected N4 and above, given the earnings from SA business disposal but they would rather send all to their parent company by way of debt servicing. |

emmanuelewumi: But what we have quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange is ETI the parent company and not Ecobank My thought as well. And that's why they pay dividends in dollars whenever they do. |

rebekah2011: If their results did not come in by February 29, 2020, then they will pay fines and penalties to SEC. Why will they want to pay dividend when they still have loans to pay back? The company only has to show positives and investors will swoop on their shares. Paying dividend will only put them into more troubles. Lol. In April 2018 They paid dividend of N1.5 despite making a loss of about 36billiin for that year. The company has now significantly brought down their debt and also sold an arm, and you are still asking why they will pay. Is there a company on NSE without debt? |
