HealthRe: What Exactly Are Doctors Still Doing In Nigeria? by MrBigiman: 11:39am On Jun 02, 2018
phase1:
That's your definition and we all know it's a political definition you are employing for the sole purpose of 'divide-and-rule' in order to weaken JOHESU which have succeeded in emasculating you by educating Nigerians about your greed-driven tyranny in the health sector.

You cannot extrapolate 'medical professionalism' from Medical laboratory science'

A Pharmacist is a medical professional as medical druggist.

A nurse is a medical professional as a medical care-giver.

A Medical Scientist is a medical professional as a Medical Investigator.

A Physiotherapist is a medical professional as a medical rehabilitator.

A Radiographer is a medical professional as he provides medical imaging.

Now, a paramedical is an emergency medical worker.

You see, your personal definition holds no water and will only deceive illiterates but as long as intelligent and exposed guys like us share this forum with you. We will make it a herculean task for you to disseminate your lies. You can bank on that. cheesy
Phase1!!!, u are worrying too much on this forum. Your leaders are facing the heat. Johesu will fail totally, and I will be here to remind u.

Can you define 'paramedical'?

Are you talking about the emergency medical workers or the Pharmacists, Medical Scientist, Nurses, Optometrists?
Medicine, Nurses and Pharmacists are the core medical professionals. Others are ancillary Staffs and can be outsourced. The mentioned 3 should rightly be in the same Union. What we have right now is an abbreviation.

I read this post and it has spoilt my day. In as much as we have our differences/opinions I can't wish this for anybody let alone a brother.

But on a serious note the 80 or 45k/month is depressing
No doctor deserves such cruelty, except you practice in the east (those guys will pay you peanut and still brag about it) .That is more like advanced form of witchcraft any hospital that pays her doctors that. My brother please come to Lagos and make money oo even private hospitals will pay you almost what you earned as an intern. Health professionals deserves better than that. To work no be by force na.

Even me that is a medical laboratory scientist, I can't work for any private hospital that can't pay above 100k (I have suffered enough to be ridiculed).
So u get atom of human kindness?, this Johesu man!

MrBigiman, I really do appreciate ur concerns about the health of Nigerian believing that it can't be trusted in d hands of JOHESU consultants but have u ever wondered why Nigeria is no where to be found in d world as regards to healthcare delivery in the hands of the 'Trusted Medical Consultant'. This thing baffles me that countries with international best practices have all this things in place and it is working for them. Don't u think we have issues in this country. Well I believe this strike was a great enlightenment to Nigeria populace and myself inclusive. I see that consultancy cadre for pharmacist has come and has come to stay. Rx......take thou in good fate.
There is a Yahale Ahmed report, and Johesu are the only one kicking against its implementation. Sadly the same Johesu that is speaking about international best practice.

Truth be told, the health sector is Nigeria is not totally collapsed because of the Tenacity of the Doctor. If it was only Johesu, Nigeria would not have a health sector at all.

No 1 reason why I may doubt ur research is dt consultant pharmacist role is not to dispense monoclonal antibodies. Dispensing is not even in d picture. If u r sincere and u want to learn and not been biased, I can forward articles with valid references 2 ur mail
No 2. Nigeria has a structure for consultancy program and they also undergo rigorous residency training in selected accredited centers only that d 'ministry of doctors' fails in acknowledging their presence.
No 3. If u look at the circular released by Lagos state govt keenly, u will see that it was Consultant ii/assistant director i.e for those that have gone thru West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacist and residency will go thru Consultancy cadre while those that didn't go thru will assistant director, deputy director and director cadre. And besides Lagos state won't just approve such things without due consultations and deliberations. Niger state have such system in place long ago and assuming it is not working or fruitful, it will have been scrapped and discouraged. So pls Rx.......accept it in good fate.
How has Niger state health indices changed since it was adopted. Let stop deceiving ourselves. Wanting to be consultants here is for pecuniary reasons and it doesn't bring anything to the table. The only true Consultants in the hospital setting are Medics and they consult directly to patients need.

the scientist is more exposed to physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, pharmacology and pathology unlike the technician who spends just three years at college of health technology
Any difference in result. I currently have a BMLS and a MLT in my hospital, and sincerely theres no difference. The BMLS only collect fatter salary for nothing. Both produce LFT, EUCr, FBC, glycated HB, PSA results which I need. If not that we need a scientist for profiling, I would have gotten only technicians.

Good evening doctors in the house. Since I returned from school I've been having headaches, I went for a test around last two weeks and it showed no malaria and typhoid, but since the beginning of the week I've been stooling coupled with the headaches. The stools have beeen really small this last one just small mucus
Since malaria and typhoid are the only illnesses, what else do u want. U have visited the Lab first, then u are screaming Doctors in the house. Let Johesu consultants finish what they started.

I've been in the Medical profession for a while. There's no difference in the result they produce or in their output in the Lab. One is just fat portfolio.

Pay raise
65 years age limit for health workers
Payment of skipping arrears, relativity arrears from 2009
Appointment of administrators and other health professionals to run FG health institutions etc amongst others, instead of doctors.

These are the few I know of .
65years for what, when NMA haven't even asked for 65yrs. Johesu is actually a crazy group, always putting their eyes in other people's progress. The way they ask for these things show their jealousy. In their leaders words "we want our retirement age to be increased to 65yrs as was done for University workers", are u a University worker?, also " We want our Conhess scale adjusted as was done for Doctors", are u also a Medical Doctor. Which hospital in any advanced Country is runned by a Pharmacist, Lab Technician or Nurse, when a Doctor is there. We only have Doctor led hospitals vs hospital administrator led hospital, of which the administrator is not even a health worker, so why do they want to distort the narrative. Finally the top 5 hospital in the world has Doctors as CEO, these include John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic etc. So why don't we emulate the best?

As much as I would av loved ur opinions.....it pains me that u don't make ur research before commenting here.
I do my research, but Johesu members are confused lots. What is the role of Consultant Pharmacist in Nigeria. The organogram for the chief consultant pharmacist says he is to dispense monoclonal antibodies. Which hospital has those in Nigeria and even if they do, ur role is to dispense and u are given consultant by Lagos state. Note that the Consultant is based on years of Service, meaning that no aptitude is involved. If u get to level 17 u automatically become a consultant. If it's so, I for don be deputy consultant long ago. Abroad residency is done in Pharmacy, just like Doctors u are not a staff but a trainee during this period. After this, u leave the hospital and search for a job as a Consultant where ur service is required. This is the real pathway, so whatever Pharmacy consultants we are having in Lagos state are at best mushroom consultants.

Kia, I am in my 4th decade of life and I can say I've never seen a set as disgruntled as Johesu. Enjoy ur Doctor, but it will add no extra duty or responsibility on u in the hospital. It's should be clear by now that u earn the same with ur Bpharm colleagues, but spent 8months extra doing an inconclusive research. The Ugly Johesu leaders should tell their members that they got 5m each for meeting with Saraki or should forever remain silent. Saraki is not salary and wages commission or the executive arm of Federal government that will pay u ur entitlement. You failed ur people including gatemen, cleaners, and mortuary staff, who u promised to make equal with doctors.

I don't feel anything for them. How can a cleaner, accountant and generator repairer ever reason he will have parity with Doctors or even lead the hospital. That very act is one of stupidity and such individuals deserves no pity. Sadly the Lab Scientist, who will remain largely technicians, want to use the other profession to climb the ladder. I spoke to a notable laboratory/research Scientist 4years ago, who happens to have trained and practiced in the UK and what he told me was significant. He said what happens in Nigeria was an anomaly. Most labs are rightly placed as attachment to hospitals or outside the main hospital for a reason, he said they are not Clinical or Medical staffs but Scientist, who work to make sure they aid the Doctors line of thought, but in Nigeria these dude seek to squeeze themselves into the things they have no business with.
HealthJohesu Members Comes For Each Other, Trades Word by MrBigiman(op): 7:56am On Jun 01, 2018
A popular Johesu apologist, Fejiro Oliver, has cried out from the grinding agony of defeat, the C grade motor park journalist who has been in Johesu's good books and has enjoyed the largese of Johesu's corruption, writes below.

Fejiro Oliver wrote;

*JOHESU: The underground deal that happened*

Life is not fair to anyone. No one gets anything freely. Everything good anyone ever got was fought for. If you wait for life to give you a space to stand simply because you shout, you will wait for ever. You must struggle for it.

It's this action that makes real union call their demands and strike struggle.

Now let's dissect the two months strike action of JOHESU.

First of all, you don't go into a struggle that you will not win. JOHESU missed this point. The power of a union are the members. For the first time in history, the JOHESU executive got 100% support from their members. The members were willing to stay at home for one year and cripple the hospital. They were even ready to go to prison by daring the government. Unfortunately, they elected the worst among God's creation as their leaders.

I have been a union Chairman and know the pressure that comes with it. Union leadership is not meant for cowards and corrupt people like the current set of JOHESU leaders.

JOHESU leaders should come before the public and say they were not bribed with cheap N5 million to call off the strike. These bunch of failures already had agreement with the Minister of Health to call off the strike since yesterday morning. When I got wind of the news from my top NMA friends, I knew the dice was cast. They went into the battle strong but came out weak. Not ONE single demand was met and will never be met.

What should members of JOHESU do?

First, they should stop being members of JOHESU by cancelling their membership that was forced on them. Let their independent associations fight for their rights if they feel marginalized.

Secondly, they should desist from attending meetings called by these current set of corrupt lily livered executive, till their tenure is over. That's if they still want to be JOHESU members.

Thirdly, they should pass a vote of no confidence on JOHESU leadership.

Lastly, they should tender their resignation if they don't like the working condition. Nobody forced them to read the courses they choice. Let them live with their academic misadventure for the rest of their lives.

My advise

The Federal Government should immediately proscribe JOHESU.

The FG should issue new letter of employment to all JOHESU members, with a clause never to belong to any strange union called JOHESU. Anyone who defaults automatically loses his/her job.

The FG should sieze the two months salaries that they were on strike, which led to hundreds of death. The money should be used to compensate families who lost loved ones due to this illegal union strike.

The FG should suspend all JOHESU Excos for calling a failed strike action.

The FG should give a query to all workers who participated in the strike.

My soft landing

JOHESU demands were no doubt just, right and in line with international best practices. Their only misfortune was having weaklings as leaders.

Take this from me, JOHESU is dead and buried. The burial rites took place on 31st May 2018. The Excos can go and enjoy their peanut N5 million in peace while the members resume with shame tomorrow and head bow, never to rise again.

Adeiu JOHESU!

Note: Mbok no JOHESU member should I will call Amadioha on the person.

Not only Uniben but Jos. The Universities have also stressed that it's a mere bachelor's degree, with an extra 6-8 months on research methodology, and not a substitute for PHD. A PharmD I know complained bitterly were we worked together, as even her own colleague didn't give her any atom of extra regard or respect, neighter was she considered for extra pay because of that. I keep saying that these mushroom Doctorate are only tailored for the Civil service. What then happens if the government decides to privitize the health sector and the FMOH becomes a mere regulator?, many departments will revert back to 4yrs courses, as the 5-6yrs will add no extra financial value. Will a private hospital pay PharmD or MLSD of DNSC as much or close to a Doctor? Johesu and their sponsors remain myopic lots. While their counterparts in well meaning advanced countries go further to study Medicine, those in Nigeria feel they can attain the MBBS status by thuggery, strike and bullying.

They're bitter and not entirely true. You talk about other health workers like they're trash and they don't mean a thing at all. I thought your have a brother that's studying pharmacy? Why do you choose to completely degrade others like they're dirts? You're a consultant and you're more
educated and much is expected of you on issues like this.
I don't look at people as trash. I not only have pharmacist, Lab Scientist, and nurses as brothers, sisters and relations, I also married a Nurse. So when I speak, I am naturally sensitive to all professions in the health line. But sometimes people takes the Doctors prolonged silence for stupidity and I will have none of that. The other day a so called nurse termed amarabae boasted about how she is more sound than any consultant physician. Should I also keep mute hearing such gibberish?

The foundation of JOHESU is faulty at it's core. Every member has this mindset that "WE ARE UNITED AGAINST DOCTORS". Doctors are supposed to be seen as their benefactors, but they see them as oppressors. The association gives their members FALSE HOPES that they can achieve the status of a doctor through confrontation with doctors instead of through academic means (Studying Medicine). They have also brainwashed their members to think that you are nobody in the health sector if you are not a doctor (This is FALSE) . If you distinguish yourself as a nurse or pharmacists, you'll get the respect you deserve, even more than some doctors. I have many examples of highly respected nurses and pharmacists in the country that you'll never see in the gathering of JOHESU. These are nurses and pharmacists who have made names for themselves and even professors of medicine accord them their respect.

Lastly I'll like to advise the nurses and pharmacists. You are being used by these other guys. Medicine and dentistry, pharmacy and nursing are the 3 core clinical speciality. These other guys are upgraded technicians (they used to be diploma courses). They are using you guys to achieve their aims while you get little or nothing.

Also, for the gatemen, office clerks, record keepers who still think and hope that one day one day JOHESU will take them to the level of a medical doctor through strike actions and confrontations and insulting doctors on facebook; I say a big congratulations in advance to you.
This piece should be typed and kept on the door front of all Johesu members. This is serious education at a glance. The Lab Scientist are the drivers of this unholy struggle, they are technicians who are largely uninformed but seek to amass titles not earned by any standard. Lab scientists are technicians and no amount of padding will change their status. The pharmacists better reallign, as they are currently dining in the mud with medical dejects.

He also failed to remind Nigerians that there an industrial and appeal court ruling already in favour of relativity, thus his strike was based on greed and defiance to the rule of law.
HealthReal Reason Why Johesu Called Of Their Strike Revealed. by MrBigiman(op): 7:31pm On May 31, 2018
The biggest shame is fighting without results. Johesu remains the most greedy union to emanate from Africa.

While they claim to fighting a just course, they quickly bulged to the Federal government in the face of dismissal from service. Hi interesting enough, the government is already doing an appraisal of service of workers in the health sector, any worker found to be redundant would be retrenched, as it's obvious it's the obvious that engage in unfounded unionism.

A toast to every Nigerian who kept holding on while the demonic lot kept barking and vibing aimlessly.

Id87:
At this point in this JOHESU strike, i wish to ask NMA/FG/FMoH the following questions and i wish to have answers to them. So many things looks so confusing and they are looking like children playing with sand:

1. NMA and some Doctors initially claims that Doctors are not on strike and work is going on without any hitch. Infact, that they have been trained to handle all including mopping of the hospital floor, cleaning the toilets, etc. So,
a. Why are some groups saying Nigerians are dying that JOHESU should resume?
b. Are the dying Nigerians dying in the hands of Doctors on duty?

2. NMA/FMoH/FG now wants to compel JOHESU to resume.
a. NMA, why do you want FG to compel JOHESU to resume by all means if you own the 'most important service' to the patient?
b. Why is FMoH/NMA finding all means to employ Locum professionals- the ones you have called all manner of names on the media. Why why why do you want to employ Locum staff who are not relevant to the patients?

3. Court Order. Why is the Court order which compels JOHESU members to return to work suddenly become sacrosanct in the hands of FMoH that JOHESU leaders are now threatened with imprisonment?
Why was nobody imprisoned when about 10 Court judgements in favor of JOHESU were trashed my members of NMA?
I need to pause here to make a few comments:
a. Dont forget that work is going on steadily in all the Hospitals.
b. Dont forget that these JOHESU people are not relevant to health services.
Why would you threaten someone if you do not have a do-or-die interest? Yes, i am asking...i need answers.
So, please answer my question in a simple clear term. Is there something threatening you by this strike action?
If i say my wife is useless and i send her packing, why should i be asking here father to compel here back home. Is something wrong with me upstairs?...still wondering

4. FG/FMoH Sir, is there any just reason for you to adjust CONMESS by 50% and you want to adjust CONHESS by only 25%, 15% or even nothing?
Is it not clear to you Sir?
You upgraded N100 to N150, but you dont wish to upgrade N60 to N90, you want it to be N75 or less. Why do you desire to do such injustice to that guy earning less?
Why are you saying his N90 will suddenly be equivalent to the N150 that your friend is getting?
Why is it that N90 suddenly becomes a threat to your padi's N150 that you are threatening hell and brimestone?

5. Is something wrong with a black man upstairs? Pls answer me...
I am ashamed...
Monkeys?...Shitholes?
Why all ur rants?,
