How can you say a defeated president/JOHESU? The man that has given all the government apparatuses sleepless nights you are calling defeated? JOHESU dared the court's 24hour ultimatum and nothing happened.
Do you know what it means to sack more than 750,000 worker at a go? It's just that sometimes you have to soft-pedal and allow inputs in unionism. Ask any of the members whether they are afraid sack.
I am very ashamed of the FMOH and NMA for coming so low with those tones of lies and propaganda.
And for some of you here that are keyboard warriors rather than thinkers, you'll someday come to realise what JOHESU stood for.
Johesu stood for nothing except earning and gaining the same rights as Doctors through strike, lies and propaganda. When ur so called hero said house officers earn over 300k, I knew he'll soon run out of ideas. His fight was completely unethical.

JOHESU strike sponsored by looters to scuttle 2019 polls – Northern youths

Published May 30, 2018

Friday OLOKOR, Jos

A coalition of pressure groups under the aegis of Northern Youths Forum on Wednesday faulted the six weeks old strike by the Joint Health Sector Unions describing it as “politically motivated.”

The organisation alleged that the JOHESU strike was “induced by looters, fraudsters and economic saboteurs who have issues with President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration. It added that the strike was meant to scuttle the 2019 general elections.

The NYF said while it shared in the general belief that workers’ welfare, including conditions of service, salaries, and other emoluments should be the utmost of their employers, “we are bound to dissociate ourselves from the premeditated and politically sponsored strike by JOHESU which was wickedly designed to punish poor and innocent Nigerians, all in a bid to score undue political points.”

The organisation also described as embarrassing, “the ignorance displayed by JOHESU, saying they have appealed the court order.”

The NYF said, “It is absolutely illegal and unheard of, to file an appeal challenging an ex-parte order; ex-parte order can only be vacated. We use this medium to call on the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami (SAN), to charge the leadership of JOHESU extraction for contempt of court.

“In the same vein, we admonish the management of all the medical facilities to lay off all erring members who have refused to report for duty as mandated by the Industrial court, this lawlessness must stop now.”

Speaking at a press conference in Jos, National Coordinator of NYF, Hajiya Maimuna Abdullahi, and Secretary, Saeed Siraj, advised the Federal Government and state governors to “take decisive action against self – seeking unions like JOHESU.”

The NYF said, “Let it be clearly stated that we cannot be taken for granted and that sovereignty belongs to us and that an association of less than 0.05 per cent of our population cannot continue to draw us backward as a nation.

When an allied health worker says "remove surgery from medical practice and doctors are useless ", It reveals the level of ignorance of most health workers (and general public). If I ask you if you can manage hypertension and diabetes successfully now, I'm sure you'll say you can do it better than a cardiologist and an endocrinologist respectively. I'm sure you can manage a stroke patient better than a neurologist. I'm sure you can manage a patient with malabsorption syndromes better than a gastroenterologist. I'm sure you can manage a patient with nephrotic syndrome better than any nephrologists in Nigeria. All these are not surgeries and the list goes on. slowpoke, I don't know why it's a big deal for doctors to lead the health team.

Nobody is saying doctors should oppress the health team. Doctors have been leading the health team for centuries, it's has already become a birthright.
I have seen cases messed up by Johesu members all in the name of equating themselves with Medics, 5 of such cases are on my bed. These are strictly medical cases that require sound clinical judgement.
HealthJohesu Backpedals, Apologizes To Nigerians by MrBigiman(op): 3:02pm On May 30, 2018
In a rather pathetic move, the amorphous body called Johesu have called off their strike of over 1month, citing sensitivity to the plight of Nigerians as their reason.

Prior to now, Johesu have boasted that their strike would take as long as 1year as long as their demands are not met. Today however, a defeated President, Mr Biobeleye, with head bent claimed to be resuming in the interest of Nigerians, he has also warned members to resume as he cannot guarantee their job security if they don't.

This is coming against the backdrop of a memo released yesterday by all teaching hospitals asking health workers to resume or consider their jobs lost.

Today as ever, Doctors were in high spirit doing their job. A Doctor said, " I would have loved to work with new fresh trainable faces, as against the ones who have benefitted immensely from the decades of corruption that have diffused into our hospitals. However, if they repent, we will be more than willing to improve the health sector with their kind support. "

HealthRe: JOHESU Agrees To Suspend Strike June 1 by MrBigiman: 2:49pm On May 30, 2018
Some clowns were comparing Johesu with ASUU. The last card the government has is always sack, it works like magic. Ask the UniIlorin lecturers, who remained resolved to push on with their strike despite stern warnings. They were kicked out of circulation and died without their gratuity gotten.

A group of technicians uphold themselves as professionals, when in fact their term and duty has hardly changed.

Doctors, pharmacist and maybe physiotherapist are the only professionals in the health sectors, the others are glorified technicians, who over elevate their status.

Victory again for Medicine. It's will take another decade for a group of leaders to team up to futility.

The deceptive power house called Johesu may have been tamed forever. Few weeks back health workers apart from Doctors who constitute Johesu was blatantly denied by their members, despite their ghastly accident.

Yesterday the government asked Johesu members to resume work in 72hrs or consider their jobs lost. Few hours later however, the hospital admin, lawyers and accountants have resumed against the unholy directive by the Johesu president and are infact preparing sack letters for their colleagues. In a shameful twist Johesu has denied that the admin of the hospital are actually their members claiming they are not health related workers.

The shame Johesu keep brandishing will stop here.

it's checks out indeed.... GEJ and BUHARI have one thing in common.... both want a second term.... and trust me, when it's election time everybody dances to the tune of the music played by the people, even "MR. INTEGRITY " Himself. Lagos State has already danced to the tune along with some 2 other states..... as such the opposition has nothing to hold these states to ransom during the election.... ASUU and JOHESU also share some common similarities..... ASUU before now were never taken seriously but were tossed about and treated like second class citizens, after all the children of Government officials don't attend public universities... but ASUU did the impossible and went on 6 months long strike..... different NGO's protested against them, court ruled against them, they pressed to speak with GEJ and he still didn't grant their wish.... he later gave them a portion of their demands and Nigerians begged them to accept it in good faith, but they insisted that their demands fully be meant..... then came the last straw, that they were all sacked and newspaper nationwide carried job openings for lecturers.... but in the end the union stood it's ground and GEJ had to shift ground..... he paid everything before they resumed work.... paid them for the 6 months they went on strike and today ASUU going on strike is a forgotten issue cause all their demands have been meant.
Johesu is fighting this to the last, all or nothing.... and since they know how valuable they are it's just a matter of time before they all come dancing to their tune!
Johesu is not as powerful as they think. Equating ourselves with Lecturers is a big Joke. Also Lecturers didn't get everything they requested. In fact the 6months strike ended when the government asked a register to be opened in each institution, and any lecturer that doesn't resume should consider his job lost.

You must be a kid with very little knowledge of industrial relations.
You are too young to understand what goes on in government. Back in the day NLC terrorized the government. Johesu couldn't come near to NLC's venom. Today NLC is a praise singing group, hoping that the louder they sing, then probably the government will tilt to their demand. Johesu is minutes from joining that praise singing group which will only get crumbs from singing loud praise songs to the government.

During the previous government, Johesu bribed judges and payed influential people to buy unwarranted favour. Today, the monster called corruption is dying and only praise singing can hand u some crumbs that u actually don't deserve.

I thought you lots claim to be more important than other healthcare professionalshuh Yet you have failed woefully to prove yourselves in the absence of the "unimportant" guys.

And now, you - mrbigiman, has resorted to pulling off a "notice" from your stinking aszs to cow the supposedly unimportant workers into returning to workhuh!

Funny!!!
Stop mentioning my name over and over again. Johesu's woes just began. When the government finishes with that group, there will be more honour for a bet naija player, than for anyone that associates himself with Johesu. Already some intelligent support staffs are withdrawing from the armophous group.

Wise one bro. Growing up I knew Lab technicians to be support staffs and semiskilled labour, same as nurses. Over the years they have increased the length of their course, and called them selfs professionals, yet their role has not changed. Offering a 25% increase in Salary is a big hand of fellowship and their rejecting it only shows how ungrateful they are. In 72hrs a replacement will be shopped.

The government can do more. Even students going to UK for masters must buy an insurance plan. If the government ensures that every University student buys a basic plan it wouldn't be a bad idea. Also, even taxable firm must enroll it's employee to a plan and that enrollee is entitled to 3-4 dependents, then the health coverage will improve drastically.

Well done.
HealthJOHESU Ordered To Resume Work In 72hrs by MrBigiman(op): 10:25pm On May 28, 2018
The federal ministry of health have ordered the armophous group called Johesu to resume work in 72hrs or consider themselves to have absconded from work. This comes after series of failed negotiation with the group, despite efforts made by the government to make them see reason why they have be handed the biggest hand of fellowship and are the most pampered Civil servants in the country today.

Currently a nurse with postgraduate college of Nursing, who is just a diploma holder, starts at the same point as a graduate with BSC, but earns even higher. They begin work at level 8, while other diploma courses begin at level 6. Also, Pharmacy, Lab technicians ( glorified as Scientist), run their course for 5yrs, have almost 2 of those years as IT years and still do 1 post graduation internship, meaning their real study years is actually just 3yrs. These courses are just about 3-4yrs in advanced countries and they never equate themselves with Medical Doctors.

With the circular pass it is only hoped the armophous body will learn a lesson that they can teach up coming hospital support staffs.
