I had to take the pain to get a link proofing that postgraduate training in the UK for Lab scientist is regulated for RCPATH, a development MLSCN would have kicked against. I also proofed that the board of that college is chaired and assisted by patholgist and 80% of members in that board are pathologists, a development that equity fighting dudes would have kicked against. Also I finally dispelled your lies that a lab scientist can be called a pathologist by showing the pathways for medical scientists in the UK.

Johesu is fighting so much in the Nigerian territory because outside Nigeria they can only be regarded as support staff and thus they use all the time in the world to blackmail the Nigerian government. The civil service is not sustainable.

The way johesu kicked against Yayale Ahmed recommendation (2014) is same way the Onyebuchi Chukwu and NMA kicked against Alhaji Bello Gusau recommendation on same subject matter (2011). Both under the administration of Goodluck Jonathan. Because Gusau's recommendations didn't favour the NMA, they used their own in the HMH to set up another committee that birthed the Yayale Ahmed committee.

He can work as a senior medical officer abroad. Several psychiatrist left here and worked as senior medical officers in psychiatrist for a few years because Nigeria is a sht hole, that pays consultants peanuts, yet UK pays such a person almost 4,times more. They eventually write MRCP exams and FRCP exams and become consultants. These are the highest earners in the UK. How can that person be considered stupid, if not ur bitter personality.

Pharmacist go to the UK and have to do a 52 week revalidation course to even be considered to work. When they do so, they have to return to Nigeria and wait for COS and Visa which will not come because pharmacy is neighter in the shortage of occupation position nor is the salary enough for the highly skilled migrant pathway. He is not a stupid person, but his certificate is a liability there. The best he can do is do a master's, PhD, impregnate a white woman and keep buying time in another mans land and lying to people that he's a pharmacist in the UK.

Guy, I am not bragging, but being an MBBS doctors is not easy. Thank goodness that Johesu leaders in their 7 pages of shame, told how the federal government and ministry of Labour tossed them around like kids, despite all of them desperately adding Doctor to their names. If u are not a Medical Doctor in a hospital setting and u keep tagging uself with the Doctor appellation, then u are a liability to that facility. Ur Doctor will not Change the FBC result or convert a hylerkalamic patient to normal potassium. Your Doctor will not reconstitute the dose of mannitol prescribed by the true physician for Cerebral Edema. A Scientist with or without Doctor will culture a plate, and a pharmacist does not need a doctorate to dispense PCM. Ur needless agitations are for pecuniary reasons, and not for improved patient care.

MBBS is king in the hospital and no amount of redesign will change that fact.

Hello everyone. This post is to provide info for some1 out there. (N.B: it may contain lots of shorthand. Pardon me)

In re: to writing USMLE, its doable and achievable but you must be prepared. Things to plan 4:

- Deciding when to write (it's best to write STEP 1 while still in Med School say after doing Path& Pharm). Though dis depends on availability of funds

- To start with, you need to register for ECFMG certification with $75, Step 1 is $910+ Surcharge fee if testing outside USA. These fees usually increases like every 2 years.

- Strategize ur studies. D curriculum is SLIGHTLY different 4rm Africa's Med Edu. (You know they see some non-tropical diseases).

- First Aid text is a must have as well as Qbanks. As you study, revise with Qbanks. D NBME Qbank is a strategic tool (U can practice the current ones online for a certain amount...either 1month subs, 3 month, etc.

-You can take Step 1 or 2 non-sequentially but note that Step 1 is bulky (days why you need to plan ur time).

- Build ur confidence with mastering of >80% of the exam content. Its possible as long as u lay ur hands on the right materials.

- If you have the money, you can get the Kaplan videos (Kaplan just takes it time to explain in details the exam materials e.g explaining in details how pressure changes in heart using Frank-Sterling or blood flow following Fick's principle. So the Kaplan videos are lengthy.)

- Their is a visa type specific for Immigrant Drs as long as you get ECFMG certified after passing Step 1&2. I think their is a special VISA to come write Step 2 CS too.

- Registering for the exams is pretty straight forward especially if ur med school is recognised by ECFMG. Most accredited Federal govt schools are and maybe one or two private schools. Its available on the ECFMG website. If the school is not yet recognised by ECFMG but accredited, you can still register #dont knw d steps though

Universities are graded with credit Unit not years. The credit Unit of MBBS is amazingly 5 times more than a pharmacist, and Engineer or a Med lab Scientist. U keep shooting years but MBBS doest run semesters, if it did them it would be a 10yrs course. The MBBS entry point is quite poor. Thanks to the Federal Government for introducing skipping for Doctors, we have been cheated for over 50yrs, yet we didn't strike to get what we deserved but went the way of dialogue.

They ask us to do: abdominal scan, liver function test, alpha feto protein test. We haven't done coral load test it's expensive Etc. All test were okay and good

what other thing do you suggest.

Immunize urself against HepB first. Ensure she does a Heb B serology including viral load to know if she could commence treatment. U can use UCH for viral load if u don't have money for private facility. Take more responsibility for ur health.

By virtue of their education, physicians are meant to lead in hospitals. Therefore, they should behave as leaders and respect others

We respect everybody but have hardly been given an enabling environment to work and make progress. As being graduates has blinded some of our brothers in other professions. Infact ur labour leaders claim Doctors are not the head, but are a unique set of professionals giving their own services just like others. But health workers in John Hopkins after 100years still conclude that Doctors are definitely the leaders in health care delivery.

Saraki's biggest political mistakes was pallying with rascals and criminals called Johesu. Those guys single handled wasted more life's than the Offa Bank Robbers.

are taught pathology by pathologists(doctors) d medlab scientists r lab attendances.

. In UK Royal College of pathologist regulate biomedical postgraduate training, and I even posted a link to the board members in the college. In Nigeria lab scientist want to regulate and teach their own postgraduate training. Even in the US lab scientist postgpostgraduate training is regulated by pathologist, but those screaming best international practice's are only greedy, physician envying thugs hiding under a lab coat. One even claimed lab scientist can be called pathologist in Uk, until I showed him a link to the career progression in FRCPath, and he has remained mute on the matter. Shameless country

I wonder how the relationship with the scientist in your hospital will be. This is the reason why biomedical scientists do have problems with physicians here in Nigeria, even right from university days.

From First Diagnstics, to Motayo Soleye, to St Nicholas, to Reddinton, to St Ives and Even Eko Hospital, Scientist and other health workers behave themselves and never ask for parity with Doctors or to head hospitals. Doctors are leaders there and get more pay overall and nobody struggles for consultant Lab Scientist. I pray daily that the government should eventually Cede the teaching hospitals to these companies, in addition to some HMOs live THT, Mansard, Avon etc, let's see if Johesu would still be a thing. Once we see Government institutions, we see it as a means to cause undue chaos and arrogate undeserved importance to ourselves. The Civil service that everyone is fighting to have a piece of is not sustainable. Lagos state that is approving consultant this and that, would be the first to privitized their health care system, leaving many fake consultants with a bloodied nose and a bruised teeth. When you speak of quackery, it is being perpetuated by all sectors in Nigeria. We have Auxiliary nurse trained by Medical Dr, acting as Dr in there private clinics. We have chemist posing as Surgeons. Anyone doing jobs not covered by his licence is a quack, and the necessary authority should clamp them down.

I mean in the hospital though. If u listened to radio Nigeria yesterday, u'll notice the presenter asked this question to the Johesu leaders, even the so called non medical consultants abroad don't add Drs to their name when introducing themselves, because they know it would be a distraction to patients,and they were mute.He said how would it look like when everyone in the hospital suddenly start bearing Doctor. I have no issues with ur title, however I believe if we must use certain titles, it shouldn't be in a clinical setting, as it has no impact on patient care. Kindly refer to John Hopkins Pharmacist fellowship documentary and see how the tutors introduced themselves, only the Medics introduced themselves as Doctor. It's all common sense, but when fighting a partisan fight we throw away reason.

I don't believe in Auxiliary nurses, so I don't use them. The most I can do is it mix single and double qualified nurses. I also have at least 2 chews, It's a new growing business. Let's look beyond what common sense would allow and make the leap.

The so called 3 lab chaps still request for more hands, but we can't go beyond our capacity for now. I am a static investor and u don't expect me to be that busy, when almost all my activity has been allocated.
