tomdon: until u tell me what parts were manufactured in Nigeria or whether the designs were done in Nigeria through research, I will call them refurbished cars, because, they were only assembled in Nigeria, not manufactured in Nigeria. this action will provide only a very few skilled jobs lmporting the parts would still strain our currency
all raw materials for making a car exists in Nigeria, but tell me which parts were made with local raw materials
NB. please don't get me wrong, I'm not hating, I think Igbo people are very wonderful people, the most technologically ingenious race in Nigeria, I had this exact disco about aba folks with a friend only yesterday night, I think government has not lived up to its responsibility in terms of support. with little incentive from government, many great inventions will be developed there. I'm only saying we should be weary of mediocrity by way of calling an assembly plant a manufacturing plant He has also a plastic manufacturing coy in Enugu that produces most of the rubbers needed in the cars, there's a lot of car spare parts manufacturing coy around Onitsha and Nnewi that he also in business deals with, like Ibeto group manufactures motor battery for him, better go and visit the plant and see for yourself, though he import some of the engine with a corresponding company abroad pending the time our local steel coy start working |

The crisis in Somalia can never and will never be linked with Boko Haram. Mr President, are you telling us we need to come over there and stop the crisis in Somalia before we can enjoy peace from Boko Haram? I am sure you just smoked dried pawpaw leaf. So you're pleased about your country in a negative way, that boko haram can't be trained in Somalia because Nigeria is too big for it's terrorist to train there? |

Their President is an atheist, most of their political office holders have no religion. Religion isn't allowed in public schools and public places, so what exactly are you talking about? Ask him if he has traveled there before? he's following chart instead of in real life and what's actually happening there |

Acidosis: Sequence to this thread earlier posted today: https://www.nairaland.com/2920930/chris-okafor-raises-dead-baby
I've noticed so many Nigerians find it easy to run in droves to witness Bonnke's crusade but whenever they hear a Nigerian Pastor performs a miracle, they open their mouths to utter degrading words about Africa, Nigeria, and anything that belittles the country. They even make some of us who believe in God to look stu.pid. Meanwhile, they will never call Reinhard Bonnke's miracle "staged." It is the same sets of people that will occupy his crusade ground to see the International German Evangelist. We attend because he's WHITE?
I really want to know why our people act the way they do. Can't we limit this slave mentality to trade? Must we showcase these attitudes on religious discourses?
If you do not believe, keep quiet and allow their followers hail their OWN. Africa is not the only continent where people serve God. The biggest Church in the world is in South Korea (not Nigeria). Korea is still a developed country with globally acceptable hardwares! They have the biggest church in the world few metres away from the country's National Assembly. Ours is in Mowe, Ogun state, several miles away from Abuja.
Winners Chapel or RCCG in Nigeria, as opposed to what some want us to believe, is not the reason for our poor infrastructure and poor leadership. We are backward because we are backward mentally.
This is a sound warning to intellectual handicaps who always attribute our economic, social and technological woes to Religion, Christianity in particular.
Let's stop this public display of SHAME, please! Judge yourself and do not judge other's beliefs and instincts |

Who were your first civilian and military head of state? and you're happy if Igbo man will not become President, this is the reason why Nigeria will remain a zoe, backward and primitive in the next 1000 years. |

FisifunKododada:
See gobe. It is obvious that in the past (even as late as 1930s) Yoruba and Bini were joined at the hips. However, times have changed. Today, Yoruba is Yoruba and Bini is Bini. And that is the way it should be. The aborigines of Edo State are not Yorubas but the crown is definitely a Yoruba bloodline. And while I agree that the Bini Monarchy gets its authority from Ile-Ife (via DNA aka bloodline), they do not have to do that anymore. They are free to stand alone. For me, this is not even controversial. Live and let live. Most of what is happening is politics. Nigerian politics makes it difficult for people to admit the obvious truth. Smaller ethnic groups are very protective of their identity. Put yourself in the position of the people of Bini. With a population that is barely the size of little old Ekiti, you can see why they would react the way they do. Yorubas are arguably the most successful ethnic group in Nigeria. When you are this successful, bitterness and envy is usually what you get from folks who have not have it as good. But I worry that the Yoruba Nation is not as united as is necessary to continue to expand on our success, as the very nature of Nigeria continues to wobble as the years go by. I am impressed by the current Oni's resolve to do something about this. For this reason alone, he gets my support despite my reservation at some of his post-installment acts. The SW has always been the hub of Nigeria. We open our doors joyfully to all people. While this is a good thing, I believe its time for us to strengthen our unity and look inwards. And we can only do this successfully, if we avoid getting embroiled in silly controversial issues like the aforementioned. Yorubaparapo.com. Yoruba ronu. Let's go. sorry bro Yorubas are falling behind even so called minority tribes, read it here https://www.naij.com/441183-yoruba-youths-have-lost-influence-respect-of-nigerians.html |

And APC, a party formed within 2yrs to the election was able to garner the financial strength to boost hers?
What happened to the fund raise that PDP embarked which yielded so much so that it attracted condemnation from the same APC and even some of her Intl sympathizers?
The truth, no matter how hidden, like the air will find its way out. How they got the fund to finance their presidential campaign? you can ask Amechi and governors of Lagos state, they may not even be free from Dasuki's 2.1b$, while they close the case is to avoid implications |

Politics › Re: What Went Wrong With Fashola? by MrGerald(m): 11:53am On Feb 09, 2016 |
gists: Which of those items that you listed is not functioning? You complain about too much payment, yet an average of 700,0000 people are trooping to Lagos every day! The simple reason is because you get the services you pay for. Nigerians don't mind paying for services as long as the service is delivered. People like you should know that there is no free lunch. You want constant electricity? Then be ready to pay for it - Period! The only reason why I didn't support tariff increment during previous administrations is that WE KNOW it will be embezzled. However, with PMB, this is not the case. Even without the increment, we started noticing improvement in power supply. I know some wailers will say its GEJ that did it (conveniently forgetting the ground works of OBJ). But I ask them why it is that we didn't see the result in GEJ's time. If you buy a generator in your house, won't the generator start working immediately or will it wait till you move out of the house and another person takes over before the generator start to work?
Having said this, Fashola must know that he has now put his name and reputation on the line! Tariff has now been increase by as much as 65%. He and his team had better make power available - otherwise we will not fail to utilize our voting power in 2019 to boot them out! average of 700,000 thousand on daily basis yet not over flowing with human beings? go and get your figures right, for energy issue, you don't pay for what you don't have or using, let them put everything in place with the tariff they've been collecting since time immemorial and inflate the charges, we Nigerians are ready to pay only after that, period. |
