pheesayor:about the lines someone took a line out of 2face's song and said it didn't make sense and i also took a line from faze's song. What u did was to further expand on it, thats not what i did. Mind u i took that line out of one of faze's hits while that line was taken from one of tuface's most unpopular songs. Even with your expansion I don't still see anything creative or mature about it. Do not ever say it again that faze is making more money because he's on an independent label it doesn't work that way. Do u even think most of these artists get their money from album sales with all the piracy. Most of them make their money from shows and appearances. We all know who takes that. What sense were u trying to make when u said faze didn't copy but if he did he should get the credit because he maintained the group style. What does that mean P.S. - I noticed u guys throw the word "classic" around too much. How is "alphabetic love" a classic? What makes it a classic? |
Some of us are missing the point of this thread. The dude that posted it is basically saying a girl can wear whatever they want but they should do it with confidence. Another thing that amazes is when girls find it offensive when a boy stares at their chest area when they're boobs are almost hanging out of their tops. So whats the point of that much exposure? |
sect:My guy what tuface did right there is called word play everyone knows butterflies are beautiful but its corny as hell. Its like saying "your eyes are beautiful like the stars in the sky" we all know stars have that sparkle but its corny as a mog. He was playing with words thats y he comapared the girl and himself to beyonce and jay-z. "You fine like butterfly" is so blah, nothing new, no creativity whatsoever. Thats nursery school scopes at best. Lets take a look at one of the best lyricist ever, Biggie, he has a line that goes, "Versace shades watching ya" he could have simply said, "I have my versace shades on" but wheres the creativity in that? You play around with words to murder your competition and thats what a lot of artists lack nowadays |
sect:Tuface is an afro-pop singer, take a look at other naija artist, in most cases u can't place them in any foreign music genre because they have their own style. What should we say about Sound Sultan or D'banj. Even Fela had to come up with his own genre because he had his own unique style. What do u categorize Wyclef into? Even Kid rock, describing himself with his new album, said he's CREATIVELY CONFUSED that doesn't make his music bad. So no need to categorize but if thats what makes u comfortable lets just call it afro-pop and define anyway u want. In "I dey feel like" the line is "I dey feel like Jay-z because u fine like beyonce" is the meaning not clear enough? Tuface has shown maturity and meaning in a lot of his songs. The faze u keep making noise about maturity sang songs like Kolomental and Tattoo girls, what da hell is so mature about a grown man singing about girls with tattoo? sounds like a Hot teenager. Lets go back to tuface's line about jay-z and beyonce and lets take a look at faze's "Baby u too fine like butterfly" which one sounds more creative and mature, lets be honest. If u were told to choose between these lines to use for a girl wich one would u use? Don't lie!!! Whats so fishy about tuface's "Ole" winning Channel O awards and why should it be up to u to say he doesn't deserve it, people saw it and voted for it. Now you and a couple of tuface haters want to come out and say he doesn't deserve it. I've mentioned it before and I'll mention it again even when Akon picked his favorite African artists, he picked tuface too and guess what video they showed? "Ole". So just because u don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the award. |
Tayotere:LOL. Believe me so far its tuface singing it with that beautiful voice of his, its going to be a hit. Baro:My man Baro, where have u been? Anyway I have never had any problem with blackface or whoever writing the song, the only thing I have a problem with is when u guys say tuface STOLE the song. Even if there was a problem as u claim with the song its obvious everything has been cleared up now, thats the reason blackface can come out publicly and say they co-wrote the song (i.e. if there was any problem in the first place). Blackface also wrote "My Car" but theres no controversy surrounding that one just because he didn't win MTV awards abi? Its not like Tony Tetuila too went about shouting "Blackface Blackface" but just because "African Queen" became this sensational hit u guys had to tie a scandal to it. Anyway there's proof everything is ok coming from the horses' mouth. Blackface wrote/co-wrote "African Queen", tuface sang it, at least that can't be denied, it turned out to be huge hit that can't be denied, it put naija artists on the map that can't be denied, it provided international exposure for artists even for the likes of your beloved faze that can't be denied. Lets be real who was more perfect for that song than tuface, blackface could have written it, someonelse could have sung it and it could have just recorded minimal success thereby wasting such a song. I'm so sure even Blackface is glad tuface did it because now he uses it to boost his resume as an award winning song writer. |
sect:Hold up one sec!!! Blackface said he co-wrote the song with tuface and u went ahead and called the guy a liar but lets leave that. Its true he said tuface went on with the production without notifying him, that u chose to believe but thats ok. The circumstances surrounding the blackface not being invited is unknown to us. It leaves us with this tho; Blackface wrote the song and thats all, he wasn't responsible for the production, he wasn't responsible for the rythm, he wasn't responsible for the style tuface sang it. Co-writing the song just takes a few percent of the success of the song so lets not argue about this too much. Blackface said it himself that he had a different idea for the song and thats the reason he's coming out with his own version, so whats the beef. He even compared it to bob marley and some other dude (can't remember now). Finally, lets stop all the writing and buying arguments. They're really dumb, they sound ignorant. Artists, big and small, have songs written for them everytime, that shouldn't be an issue. Then to buying awards, how feasible is it to buy an award really? How much can Kennis pay MTV or MOBO to compromise their integrity? How much? Believe me if there's a price tag on that Kennis can't afford it. I just brought all these up again because some arguements are senseless. |
@sect Do u know R.Kelly? If u do then u know he's an R&B singer right? Then u should also know R.Kelly is one of the best R&B artists ever right? R.Kelly has different styles, thats what keeps any artist fresh, u need to keep re-inventing yourself, today R.Kelly is doing hip-hop another time its rock, some other time is reggaeton and reggae, another time its grown folk step music, then if you remember he gave us some sort of urban opera with the "Closet" series. He does all that and still maintains that R.Kelly flavor. Thats what tuface does too, for him to do reggae, then r&b, then pop, then traditional just means his music is eclectic. Thats the reason numerous artists keep collaborating with him. He's the kind of artist that is able to blend with other artists' styles without his own style suffering any major compromise. Remember wyclef? He's that way too. If you say "one love" does not have any meaning then its safe to conclude u've not taken time to listen to the song which means u shouldn't be arguing because u have a biased point of view, the same goes for "No Shaking". You said he uses beats to get people, well thats part of the package right? Faze came out with "kolomental" was that not a song released strictly for the beats and making people move? Did that song convey any message whatsoever? That doesn't make it less of a good song does it? @concrete We thank God for sparing his life o. It just means we'll still have the pleasure of listening to more of his fantastic music. In fact this incident is going to provide inspiration for new material and yeah he was working on a song in the car with faze's brother. What doesn't kill you can only make stronger. |
Please mr. aluta go and sit down somewhere abeg. He's helping some of us out that don't have easy access to our naija artists. @cactus Good job!!! Keep doing what u do. I tried switching the source code as u explained above but i wasn't able to download it to my comp. It simply just played from the web, i think. I'm trying to save it on my comp so that I can put it on mp3 player or burn it on a cd. here's the link i switched around just to see what i did wrong http://www.naijapals.com/system/cache/music/naijapals.com_musicdecodeduncoderecorde_318d3a0bc3fe94312f97aa7639aefa34.mp3 Its from naijapals too but I couldn't find it on joromi.com. I don't think it has been added yet. Can you do the same from duduradio.com |
I'm thinking unbiased analysts have already taken a look at both albums and they keep awarding 2face for a great album. Just incase u didn't listen to the album well it has different styles but still maintains that 2face flavor everyone knows and loves. To be honest, the screaming and whistling that faze does sometimes could get quite annoying, thats not saying he doesn't make good music. sect:Pls tell us something we don't know |
ifyalways:Some wrong infos in your post but anyway if your way of testing good music is by passing it by a blind man to see then I think I'll just gladly stick to the millions of fans and music experts that love 2face and his music |
sect:You say he doesn't deserve it, I say he deserves it with millions of fans and awards to show, you say those songs are crappy, I say they're absolutely spectular songs including millions of fans with local and international music experts agreeing too. How did he gain popularity? I'm sure it wasn't by singing crappy songs. Anyway u're entitled to your own opinion unfortunately you and just few people share that view |
Anyway the whole thing is beginning to look more than just a robbery because they're now reporting that nothing was taken from the car not even their phones. Haters are out there!!! So security has been beefed up around him. Abeg make dem no kill ma for us oo |
Hey Baro thanx for the link. Nice Video!!! Yeah its a shame what happened to 2face and now they're beginning to suspect it was more than a robbery because nothing was taken, I actually saw that on the website you posted. |
Thats really sad. At least Thank God he wasn't badly wounded. My prayers are with him. Hope he gets well soon. |
young_digi:Lol. I don't have those songs. Does anyone have these songs please Oladele-Oyinlomo Big Boss-Outta Town Entertainment You Know My P Naeto-c Featuring Ikechukwu D'Banj - Ask Me P.S.- For all those looking for "Omoge Wa Jo", I'll post is soon my comp is just messing up for now |
thats THE song right there but its kinda old so i'm tired of listening to it but its a great song nonetheless |
concrete:I'm so glad you replied that post because after i read it i was weakened, lol. I couldn't believe anyone would write that. Kennis or no Kennis the issue of buying awards is a simplistic almost ignorant way of thinking. How do you suppose they buy awards? I'm so sorry to say but the whole notion does not make any sense. Then to now say after he leaves, Kennis would be still "buy" awards for him is totally ridiculous. Lets even see how the guy is going to do first before we start saying all this. Some people are already crucifying him before he's even accused of the crime. Na Wa O. Anyway i wish him nothing but luck in his future endeavors |
chiogo:it fell off and broke, lol for the person that said they hate kennis for promoting him, is that not their job? how can we blast someone for doing their job and believe me, for all those that know and hear tuface's music abroad kennis absolutely didn't have anything to do with it because I personally have not seen any promo for tuface over here. So as far as his popularity internationally, his music got him there not kennis music. As far as am concerned considering the popularity tuface is gaining right now there are not doing enough |
young_digi:lol. i just love music although too many ppl have asked y i'm not a dj but basically all my friends get their music from me. the only thing i do relating to music is finding sponsors for concert promoters like when d'banj came around here but even that is very part-time |
young_digi:You're My sweety, My Sugar http://www.esnips.com/doc/fe7b873c-00aa-4ba7-8a3e-427febbde2c3/Nigerian-Artist---Youre-My-Sweety-And-Suga-(Nigerian) |
Oo pheesayor did u just wake up from your slumber? lol, i kid i kid. That was a really nice post. You stated the person you prefer but u went on to give the other person props. Good stuvs @young babe Hey no problem, I update it from time to time so you can check back. I don't want to keep echoing what ppl have said already but of course d'banj would have been happier if he was the one delivering the thank-you speech after receiving the award and blah blah blah |
@Baro First things first Baro, your wise cracks are so funny, cancelling the "face" after the "tu", wow so brilliant!!! I think tuface deserves the award, i was just replying naija_diva because of the way she posted her comment. I was just replying a decent post with my own reasoning. If I may stress it again, Tuface deserves this award, the ones he won in the past, and the ones he'll win in future. I like all the songs on the album, thats the reason he won for the album and not a particular song. Its a collection of very good stuff. If D'banj had won the award I'll have been equally happy because they're my two favorite naija artists for now, in fact if not my best two period (at least for now). I'm also glad you mentioned a lot goes into award nomination. Another reason I'll say tuface deserves the award is just take a look at his myspace page and see the comments on there, people love his songs, from white to purple, they all love him and its not even about African Queen, you'll see comments from people all over the world congratulating him for the recent MOBO and telling him how much they love his new songs. Just take a look at it, I'm not making this up unless you want to say its Kennis. P.S. - For D'banj to have gone onstage to celebrate with him, not only does it mean he's supporting his fellow naija artist but he's acknowledging a formidable competitor |
pheesayor:Yeah thats true their styles are different. I won't say I left festac cos my family still stays there but I'm in the US for now. |
@pheesayor I was asking because I used to stay in festac too. What is going to happen if we compare tuface to d'banj or p-square? Although I don't want to get into that because I like d'banj too. I'm glad u admit that its because they were in the same group that we're comparing them. Lastly, no one said u should be intimated, in fact I think I said I admire your courage. |
naija_diva:Although I disagree with you that he didn't deserve the album, I think his latest album is very good, I can't stop you from thinking the way u want to but let me give you an example; when Beyonce won the 5 grammy awards in the same year, I personally didn't think she deserved it but the fact is for that year she was doing better than most female R&B artist which made her win all those awards. So we have to take into consideration the people that were nominated also. |
Big B1:Thanks. Big B1:I think I prefer "Racist A**hole". I don't know if you can use that though? Lol. I think we'll have to settle for mongrel for now |
yong babe:Please help me ask them oo. As per the awards they say Kennis buys the awards how stupid and idiotic does that sound? Here's if Love Is A Crime http://www.esnips.com/doc/068ef473-d070-45eb-8174-22cf63f3aa9f/If-Love-Is-a-Crime---2face-Idibia. You have to register on the website before u can download tho'. You can also check out my folder you might find other songs you want http://www.esnips.com/web/kayplingsBusinessFiles |
eleshin:Unfortunately I haven't heard this song you just mentioned. We over here don't have the luxury of being updated on time with our naija jams. I have to agree with you, I pity faze fans too they have resulted to different kinds of tactics, from Kennis to buying awards to spoken english to videos to websites and now looks but I admire their strength. They stay steadfast to their man although there are overwhelming evidences proving them wrong. I have said it before too, I think its unfair we keep comparing them both it has turned some intelligent people into people that spew ignorance, ITS UNFAIR!!! I think we should start by comparing him to d'banj, then maybe styl-plus or p-square in terms of success, recognition, and talent. P.S. - Pls eleshin if you know and can direct me to where I can listen to the song I'll really appreciate it. |
Although this whole thing was taken out of context we can't take away from the fact that Bill-O is a closet racist. In the same show he said that he couldn't get over the fact that blah blah blah, "he" being the keyword here. If he said the statement came from someone like his grandmother, who he cleary refers to as racist, after taking her to the restaurant then thats understandable. For a man that is supposed to be enlightened thats quite ignorant. Its almost like saying he went to an HBCU and that he saw normal fraternities and sororities using greek letters like white schools and not gangs like the crips and bloods throwing gang signs around campus. Although the overall message of the show was positive some words "slipped" from him that just shows his true colors. He's the same person that went after Pepsi for endorsing Ludacris but went hush when they decided to pick up the Osbournes. You can't be selective when trying to right wrongs especially when it comes to peoples' culture, race or whatever. Someone described Bill-O as a gentleman, what a laugh. The man is the most narcissistic person on tv, he's the same person that calls people idiots and other demeaning names if you don't share his point of view. @topic Just for fun "Racist Mongrel" thats kinda an oxymoron don't you think? |
pheesayor:ah ahn Mr Pheesayor!!! What did I twist oo? I don't even want to get into their looks because that'll be very unfair but seriously Mr. Pheesayor what did i twist? P.S. - I have to agree with tosineada, that was a very hilarious post. BTW Mr. Pheesayor what part of festac do u stay? |
Ifeoma (if you're not registered on esnips.com, u'll have to register first b4 u can download) http://www.esnips.com/doc/0e5007e9-822c-40a4-a707-7cd4a7d60782/Ifeoma |
pheesayor:I totally agree with you. Lets call a spade a spade. If it quacks like a duck, its probably a duck. |
Maybe u might need to see a doctor because even a deaf man will love the song because its a classic. How many artistes will think about writing a song like that? Very rare!!!
