Someone said u were funny and I have to agree. The video, whether u like it or not, made that song so much more popular. Go to youtube yourself and check the number of views, thats a realistic, solid proof right there. "Yahooze" got more views in 2days than the entire time faze's "kolomental" has been there. U keep going back to these videos, at least I'm glad u have something to hold on to

What?? I don't even believe you'll argue Kolomental is more popular than Yahooze. How? Time of release or not, Yahooze was simply way more popular. Then Kolomental is not meaningless but Yahooze is what a freaking joke. Gimme one thing that makes sense in Kolomental and I'll give u 2 that makes sense in Yahooze. Even over here a lot of people know Kolomental but not like Yahoozee, there is no Naija-anything that u'll gp for that Yahooze won't be played and let no one give me that crap about "u're not in naija, u don't know whats going on" because I do, I have enough family and friends to know whats going on there.

Posts like urs really make me sad/frustrated/annoyed. You don't have to curse one person so that another person can succeed. Honestly if I was faze I won't want fans like this because what u wish other people would come back to u. There is enough money, there are enough people, there is enough space in this world for both of them to succeed. We should be praying for their successful, these guys work hard, they came from nothing, now they represent our country in a positive light admist a lot of bad press. What we should do is pray for these guys for continued success. Faze fans keep talking about people hating I wonder what u guys have to say about your compadre's post

Very very inconsistent post. According to what YOU HEARD, he said he was working with 2face FIRST then faze. If thats true y r u bringing up Kennis music into this Why u bringing up haters like anyone is going to be jealous of someone that comes after. Then we all know thats not what he said, about 5 people have written what they heard him say (including faze fans) and NONE said anything about working with him later. . .

Whats the use of bringing up the past or whatever The fact is the present day Akon said he didn't have a deal with faze even many NL members confirmed they saw/heard him say it. What do u want to do about that No links can take that away. If maybe 5mins after I post this or tomorrow or next yr, Akon comes back and says he has a deal with faze then we'll take what is now present and throw it out of the window. Theres something definitely wrong somewhere if today he mentions faze as one of his crew and tomorrow he says he never signed him. You guys should really let this Akon/Faze thing die till anyone of them says something different. All those old links and stories can't cash a cheque. Lets forget Akon and lets focus on the Artist's talent. Lets not make this define faze's career.

Honestly you guys need to stop raising false hopes. Why have u turned this issue to what hiphop world or whatever reported rather than focus on what AKON himself said. This not a matter of shame on 2face or faze. Akon said it with his own mouth he didn't have a deal with him but he's trying to do something with 2face. You guys should let this thing go until further notice. I even thought it was something new when I saw the topic. Let this thing die, faze is still going to be alright with or without Akon.

Pls do not take any of our post as a personal attack. I might have not replied any other person that posted such because I really don't enjoy borderline retarded posts. So even me replying yours means I can at least understand your concern. Now just because tongues are wagging doesn't mean we have to join in when people are being ridiculous. People would find ways to bring good people down. In a period where most of the news coming from Nigeria/Nigerians is negative, it feels refreshing to see a product of Nigeria that people just can't help to love and adore.

I'm really sorry to say and I really don't mean to offend u but your post was ridiculous. How did he betray Nigeria? By wearing a Ghanian shirt? c'mon. Thats ridiculous honestly. The man that has been claiming Nigeria all his life, going to international events and screaming "Nigeria" wore a Ghanian T-shirt in a 4min or so video for less than 2mins and because of that we should hang him. Even if it was faze that did it, I won't think there was anything wrong. Lets not start talking about sell outs because people do worse in their videos and just because they didn't wear a t-shirt from another country doesn't make them better. Mad props to TY Bello. Just listened to the whole album and I must say she has loads of good songs on there, in fact all the songs are just so good. "Funmise" is the song rotating on my playlist every 5mins right now. I hope I don't get tired of it too soon.

I just noticed u were asking about TY Bello (former Kush member) she sings gospel/uplifting music with a funky modern naija twist. She's really good. I have the whole album and its really good, her first album and the name of her first single is "Green Land". If you want to hear/want the song I can give u a link to my naija music folder. I'm sure all these other guys know her, I think she's supposed to be one of the hottest in naija right now

Hey guys lets not get into all this English talk, everyone makes mistakes. The problem I have with pheesayor is u're so quick to defend faze that u sometimes don't care to read people's post properly. I think u should apply to become faze's PR or something and get paid for this because the way u rush to his defence is serious o. U're becoming almost more than just an ordinary fan. lol

As far as the Akon/Faze deal goes we really don't know what happened all we can do is speculate. The latest development though is that Akon said he didn't have any deal with him but he's planning to work something out with 2face until further notice. Shikena!!! (is that even correct)

I really don't understand that. As I said it was between 5 people, very random stuff, not in anyway official. I'm just saying what I observed. Have we forgotten these guys are working hard to be INTERNATIONAL superstars, so if u feel comfortable reducing them to local gigs and just naija then thats your choice. Ask these artists any of them faze, 2face, D'banj, Olu Maintain, and so on and I bet they'll tell u their dream of world dominance through their music. If I can't carry out that investigation within a few Nigerians in the diaspora then I don't know where I can.

I totally agree with your posts. Very good guesses of what could have happened because I really do want to believe that just because faze's old label took Akon to naija and after hanging with him a little, faze lied about the deal.

Warning this is really really long this is the result of joblessness from taking a short break from work

So this weekend I went to New York with some of my close friends and I decided to carry out my own little investigation, believe this or not, its really u guys business but this was my observation. . .

So we were basically 5 people that hung around each other for most of the time, one came from Nashville, another from Pennsylvania, 3rd one stays in New York, 2 of us came from Maryland but live in diff cities. Now the mp3 player I have in my car contains everything from alternative rock to soft rock to r&b and rap and of course naija songs. I decided to make it a naija weekend and play mostly naija songs so I made a playlist of up to 35 naija songs and I'll give u the break down of the reaction. After that I'll give u guys the reason for this break down

Mr Olu Maintain
Yahooze - Needless to say, thats a crowd favorite everyone rocks to yahooze, singing along and stuff
Dekunle Fuji
No lele - Only 3 of us knew the song but grew on other people and it was one of two songs that was asked to be played twice at a time
D'banj and his Mo' Hits Crew
No need to list the songs, D'banj was a hit that weekend everyone loves D'banj from "booty" to "move your body" to "koko remix". . . and so on. Everybody was feeling D'banj
Weird MC
Ijoya, Palaba - Everyone knows "Ijoya" but people were grooving to "palaba" maybe because of the familiar Fela beat.
Sauce Kid's "san bori bobo" - only one person didn't know it, don't think she enjoyed the rap but she caught on to the chorus later.

Of course a lof of other random songs in between with lots of mixed reviews/reactions now to the tow artists of the day

Faze I played. . . "On a plane", "Tattoo Girls", "Kpo kpo dipo", and of course "kolomental". I don't think I have to say it before u guys guess "kolomental had the highest reaction. No one knew "on a plane" apart from me so no rocking or sing-a-long, Tattoo girls played and 3 people in the car knew the song but there was no real excitement but at least one other person knew the lyrics apart from me. "kpo kpo dipo" played and one of us likes the song because of the "kpo kpo" so she just kept singing "kpo kpo di". So that was it 4 faze

Tuface's songs "E be like say", "True Love", "My Love", "See me so", I played only four from 2face because I really didn't not want to bombard the list with 2face. "e be like say" was the only other song that was asked to be played twice back to back so I don't have to explain the reaction to the song. only one person didn't know "true love" but when it came on the two girls that knew it just rocked to it(one claimed it was her favorite song in the album and other begged me to send the song to her). Everyone loves "My love" thats a jamming song anyday. "See me so" no one was jumping but everyone was singing along. Then I took it back and played "Nfana Ibaga" and "keep on rocking". Do I really have to describe the crowd reactions for those songs. Hint though everyone even the most quiet and  most uptight one of us was just shouting "Nothing dey happen".

Again u don't have to believe me but it happened and this was a mental note I was taking, no one obviously knew i was doing that. The reason I brought it up is because the way music spreads over here is word of mouth just like how people entered my car and asked for the songs. Reaction to songs really fuel the spread because we have no one promoting them over here. So if people love your songs its definitely going to spread and its going to cause demand. Thats all I'm going to say


Oo how could I have forgotten TY. . . Greenland is just the bomb. That was a crowd pleaser too.

I feel u on that. The funny thing is I actually know a Nigerian Dj in Japan personally, Ifeanyi, he went to my high school and I have not heard him mention that b4. I do not doubt they play it a lot but it being the most played naija song is a lie maybe one of them loves it so much and he plays it a lot but not all, lets have concrete evidences b4 posting. Really is Japan not a little far fetched Its even surprising that I too know a naija DJ in Japan but its true sorry to burst ur bubble pheesayor

Ok I see what u r saying. I too do not want to believe faze lied about this whole thing but why would Akon now say in 2007 he didn't have a deal with him? Thats the really just the mystery right there.
