I hope it wasn't one of those "prove to me you love me by marrying me now" marriages because the nature of it just seems impulsive. Its not like its Jay-Z and Beyonce that are trying to throw the paparazzi off. Anyway I wish them a happy and fruitful married life

Styl Minus

The group name change is not official yet but I hope they are working on it. We all became fans and fell in love with the Styl Minus after they released Olufunmi. Since then, they have failed so many promoters during shows. In 2005, they were supposed to come for the Nigerian Independence Day Parade but they let everyone down, when they finally showed up to perform in NY in 2006, it was a big disappointment, they were supposed to perform at 12am but got into a diva mode and started making extra demands and didn't go on stage until 3am. Fans were already tired and ready to go. Now in 2008, the competition is huge and their new album is not even acceptable as a free gift, its garbage.

Nah! To be honest the song doesn't do it for me. Maybe it'll grow on me but from first hear, really no biggie. Although I'm not worried about him coming out with a good album overall, the quality of production and content of this song is not on par with the guys on top right now. . . e.g. 9ice & D'Banj

oo right now its naija 4 me. Yankee songs used to be primary and naija secondary but right now its the other way round. I wonder if its because I think the quality of naija music is getting better while that of yankee is kinda getting worse.

please be sure to send me faze's album as soon as it lands. i actually have "psykolomental" and "you no try". so please i'll mos def appreciate it but please please please only if the album is good because i don't like to fill my hard drive with wack songs. . . lol

Please if u have the songs upload them so that we can judge for ourselves. . . then as for the r.kelly thing, old song, new song, as long as he did a song with R.Kelly thats fine by me. If r.kelly can deem 2face worthy of re-doing of his song then thats quite impressive. your boy is remaking his own songs, just one album ago, lack of material maybe? Anyway please upload the songs sha. thanx

I was actually kinda nervous (use lightly) looking at this video because of the not-so-good comments on another thread going about his performance. I thought it was a pretty good perfomance, he looked sharp and confident and did his thing. What would have just completed the performance would have been some nice back-up dancers because I think when u're playing to crowd that might not really be familiar with ur song, back up dancers set the tone kinda for the way the audience would move to the music. Another thing people were complaining about was the live band, i thought they did a great job. When artistes play with live bands, they always throw in a live band flavor a lil bit diff from the original instrumentals which i enjoy a lot, the drums, the cowbells (i think), trumpet, sax, and so on.

Ok maybe I need to make myself clearer. . . I WROTE the press conference thing to ruffle feathers, as in u guys' feathers (as in faze fans like Baro, Sect, Pheesayor and so on). The whole partnership thing, I don't want to go on but lets be real for a moment here, lets remove the talent factor out of it for a moment. . . Who has more to gain from this so-called partnership? The fact is 2face had already gained massive success worldwide from his 1st album so the fact is, he really didn't need faze to sell more as much as faze would need him to do the same. This goes for any other comparison u can think of not only this set or artistes. If R.Kelly and Avant to release their albums at the same period and decide create some controversy to sell more records. . . it'll be R.Kelly doing Avant a favor more than Avant is doing R.Kelly. That doesn't mean Avant is not talented in his own right. Its just plain logic. I'll really appreciate it if u explain how my posts indicate I hate faze because my playlist since last yr or so even indicates otherwise. Think of this as a debate, a fun one for that matter, nothing serious. Who has time to be hating someone that hasn't done anything wrong to me? He is not even a threat to my choice's success. So y should I hate him?

First things first, no matter how much u say I hate faze that won't make it true. This I do is just all for fun and games and just because I've chosen a side doesn't now mean I hate the other side. Then the 2face not needing faze to sell records doesn't reflect in any way faze's talent. If I say Jay-Z doesn't need someone like Cassidy to sell records, doesn't mean I'm implying Cassidy is less talented than he is so don't even twist my words. Again, the whole press conference stuff was just to ruffle some feathers which i see worked very well. But for real tho, I really want to hear the Kolomental remix I heard its pretty crazy.

LMAO to Akon/Faze press conference in some basement with camera phones and some random dudes, what happened to press conferences in places like Sheraton and so on with real pressmen. I really hope this Akon collabo comes into fruition because that whole "market distribution" talk is record company lingo for not knowing what to do with an artist, if i might add YET. P-Square should really stop their whining. As it has been repeated over and over again in this thread they're good commercial artistes but let them not get that twisted for being great musicians. They might be good enough to be nominated for 15 awards sef but not good enough to win one. It just takes one other artist to be better than u to lose an award. Awards are not giving depending on how many u were nominated for.

As for Asa, I think she has managed to create her own style, nothing is new under the sun but I think she has managed to blend a lot of styles together to make her own. Diff ppl compare her to diff ppl, some say Tracy Chapman, some India Arie, some Corrine Bailey Rae, so its a lot going on there but I think she has made her own

Yeah thanx for your support for my support for 2face but I'll like to break it you that R Kelly is a multiple Grammy award winner. Actually it was 1997 he won 3 Grammy awards for "I Believe I Can Fly", please check more wikipedia and listen less to what comes out them P-Square's mouth, not tying to be rude but I know it was one of them that came out one time and said R Kelly has never won one. Just wanted to clarify in case thats your source.

Haters are here again, I wonder y the dude sucks and what is causing the embarrassment. Is it the collabo with the grammy award winning king of R & B, R kelly? or being invited to perform at one of the greatest music legend's post humus birthday? or is it the MTN multi city tour he's about to headline. You guys should stay out of his personal life. No one can ever tell what different people do behind closed doors, no need for the "Holier than thou" attitude. Just because he is in the public eye doesn't mean he's subject to judgment by people who probably do worse. Anyway congrats to 2face for all his present and future achievements, I hope his career keeps getting stronger and better.

I hate to go with the crowd but I vote Asa too. Also, I could think of 2 people I could remove to make way for T.Y. Bello and Asa. Going with this list though, 2face any day, he has already put his stamp on the world music stage. All he has to do now is to raise the bar with future projects as Asa has already done.

If u don't like Olu, simply say u don't like him. . . u saying he doesn't deserve the award because he has only one song is totally false. I have the guy's whole album and the whole thing is in constant rotation on my playlist. I think he's good and deserves the nomination and award. Thats the problem when a particular song becomes such a huge success on an album because people tend to expect that the follow up songs/singles should blow up as much, which in most cases doesn't happen. It really doesn't take away from the fact that the other songs are good.

Wow!!! After working so hard for his success, they won't even allow him enjoy the benefits. At least we can thank God it was only material things taken (but damn it was a Range Rover sport). May God continue to guide and protect him sha because he's too much of an asset to our country to be lost so soon.
