An independent network of Ndi Igbo, One-On-One Nigeria determined to achieve Igbo Presidency by returning president Muhammadu Buhari for second term has reiterated their commitment to achieve their objective through massive awareness campaign to convince Ndi Igbo that four years of president Buhari is better than eight years of any other person.

This was contained in an address by the national leader of One-on-One Nigeria, Chido Obidiegwu during a World Press Conference in honour of president Buhari on his 76th Birthday at NUJ Press Center Awka, on Monday December 17, 2018.

Obidiegwu going through memory lane lamented that Ndi Igbo are still being perceived as outcast by successive military and civilian governments years after the civil war despite the `no victor no vanquished` mantra.

“General Gowon and successive military heads of state – Olusegun Obasanjo and Murtala Mohammed did little to address the anomaly.

"Government Policies of those years were seen to be geared towards furtherance of the strangulation of the Igbos”, he said.

He however thanked Mr President for his wisdom and magnanimity in addressing Igbo's most pressing needs despite not supporting or voting for him in 2015.

“President Buhari in his magnanimity began serious work on the long abandoned 2nd Niger Bridge, the long abandoned Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Zik`s Mausoleum, Ariaaria Market Independent Power Project, Aba etc. These, among other projects yearned for over 16 years now and could only be realized under President Muhammadu Buhari”, noted Obidiegwu.

“These and other national socio-economic and political interventions have also endeared him to well meaning compatriots, hence the tacit support by One-on-One Nigeria for president Buhari`s 2nd Term and as a vehicle of achieving Igbo Presidency come 2023”, he said.

It would be recall that the group had paid a courtesy call on president Buhari where they intimated him on their plans which he positively acknowledged.

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Monday called on party members to work hard to ensure victory for the party in 2019 general elections.

Tinubu made the call in Ikeja while addressing members at the ACME Road party secretariat.

PoliticsNGR gathered that Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode, his Deputy, Dr Idiat Adebule, APC governorship candidate, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his running-mate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat attended the meeting.

Tinubu urged members to immediately begin to reach out to residents the need to sustain the development strides in the state and at the federal level by voting for APC.

The APC chieftain described the 16 years of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as years of failures and monumental corruption, saying the opposition should never be allowed to return.

Tinubu further appealed to them.to at least, deliver three million votes for Buhari, Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates, to further the progress of the state and country.

”We must maintain a strong outing for APC; the party of progress, the party of development, the party of the economy in 2019.

”We must differentiate between a development economy from a container economy of the PDP.

”We must educate our people that, we will not accept or allow Nigeria to be corrupt again, never!

”We have seen the 16 years of their failures and empty promises. We should never allow a return to that era.

”There are six million solid votes in the state. I challenge all of you; your target must be 50 per cent of that votes, three million votes.

”Or the entire six million votes for APC, for Buhari, Osinbajo, for Sanwo-Olu,for senators and other candidates in the state,” he said.

Tinubu commended members for putting the differences of the primaries behind them, urging them to carry the spirit of unity into the elections.

The APC chieftain said the party had not officially inauguratef campaigns because it was awaiting the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to publish final list of candidates.

According to Tinubu, said as soon as the list is released, campaigns would begin in earnest.

Also.speaking, Ambode urged party members to forget past grievances and approach the general elections as a united house.

He said if he could accept the outcome of the governorship primaries, party members should settle whatever differences with one another and work for progress of the party.

” I appeal to all our party members, who are in one way or the other been wronged or feel aggrieved that they should find a place in their heart to let it just be the same way I have accepted the greatness of the party.

”The party is supreme to all our individual interests because it has a common good for all of us and we must find a place in our hearts to let the party reign supreme.

”I want to further appeal to all our party leaders, when there is a platform for reconciliation, they should proceed also to continue to reconcile.

“When there is a platform for compensation, they should also make those promisory notes.

”All our aspirants who are not candidates must be ready to sacrifice for the collective of our party. It is very important so that we can move this campaign forward.

”It is only when you win that we can compensate. It is only when we win that we can reconcile. So, let us have that collective decision to move APC forward,“ he said.

Ambode also urged them to give the necessary support to Buhari, Sanwo-Olu and all the party candidates to ensure resounding victory.

Sanwo-Olu, in his speech, urged residents of the state to reject the PDP, adding the party had no capacity to move the state forward.

He said the state progressed,exponentially, under APC denied the claim by the PDP candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje that the state was under bondage.

Sanwo-Olu said that a state that had grown to be an economic giant in Africa, with opportunities for residents, could not be said to be under bondage.

The candidate urged advised the people o keep faith with the APC for more development in 2019.

The Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola SAN, on Monday, blamed the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party for abandoned federal government projects across the country.

He stated this while inspecting the building project of the federal secretariat, Awka, Anambra State.

He described the corruption during the PDP era as monumental, adding, “They looted our collective destiny, prospects, jobs and so on.

“That’s why the masses are suffering today. That’s why there are no jobs. But we (APC) are trying to bring back smiles on the faces of Nigerians.”

He said the 18-kilometer Umunya axis of the Onitsha/Enugu Expressway would be completed in May, 2019, while the federal secretariat, Awka, the state capital would  be completed the first quarter of next year.

Fashola, said the Buhari government inherited those projects because past governments failed to complete them as a result  of corruption.

“They awarded the contract without paying contractors, and when you don’t pay contractors you create problems down the labour ladder.

“This man here told me that he gets N30,000 per week. With such fund he will patronise pubs in the evening by eating Isiewu (goat head) and drinking with his friends in the evening and through such way wealth is distributed and redistributed; jobs are created.

“For instance, the contract for  this federal secretariat  was awarded in 2012 by the previous administration without making funds available for its completion. If the money meant for it was not stolen, it would have been completed before now.

“We are bringing back what was denied the people in the past to them; that’s the difference between a development administration and a corrupt regime,” the minister stated.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has warned the South-East they could miss out on a chance to produce the president of the country in 2023.

The people of the zone have failed in their bid to have one of their own as the leader of the country since the return of democratic rule in 1999, and Ngige believes they have a chance to grab the post if they play their cards right in the 2019 general elections.

Speaking with reporters in Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday, Ngige said President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection was the South-East’s shortest route to the presidency.

He said, “This man (Buhari) has only one term (four years) to do and go home, and an Igboman will replace him. But if you leave this shortest route and take a gamble, you are on your own.”

He added, “If Igbo refuse to play their cards right in next year’s general elections, the South-West will take away the chance from them.

“They will produce the next president after Buhari, because the zone has shown demonstrable commitment to Buhari’s cause.

“My good friend Babatunde Fashola has blown the whistle. What he said should be a warning signal to the Igbo, because you can’t stop the South-West from producing the next president of the country after supporting Buhari and the APC government.

“That is why I’m telling our people now to come out en masse in next year’s election and vote for Buhari, so that nothing will stop you from succeeding him in 2023.”

He described the vice-presidential slot given to the Igbo by the Peoples Democratic Party as a “mere spare tyre that might be used for over six years”.

According to the minister, it is not true that Buhari hates the Igbo, stressing that the late Dr Chuba Okadigbo, Edwin Ume-Ezeoke and others were close friends with the President.

The minister said the Buhari government had provided infrastructure in the South-East, saying he deserved their support.

He insists the real Buhari is the one ruling the country, dismissing the rumours about a cloned Buhari at Aso Rock.

Ngige said “we should stop listening to all these gutter talks” that one Jubril from Sudan or Chad is the one ruling the country, as the real Buhari is dead.

He said, “I’m talking to you as medical doctor. If you are well treated by your doctor, you will be rejuvenated; that’s the case with Buhari. That is why is bubbling with life. His doctors treated him well.”

The minister added, “I see him regularly. He’s the Buhari who worked as the minister of petroleum; he the Buhari who was the Head of State of this country. He remembers all these.

“I asked our people to come out and vote massively for him in the 2019 general elections. We should stop listening to all these gutter talks. The man in Aso Rock is Buhari and no other person. The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu , Rev . Fr. Ejike Mbaka , has lambasted his critics , insisting that God deserves money.

Mbaka said this while responding to criticisms over a video that went viral wherein he was seen trying to compel the Vice- Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi, during the annual harvest and bazaar celebration of the church to disclose how much he would donate to his church project .

The cleric had told a reluctant Obi that God hates stinginess and if he continues to act in such a manner, he and the PDP Presidential candidate , Atiku Abubakar, would lose woefully come election day.

In a new video which was posted on Youtube by Dave Partner and has been viewed over 11, 000 times, Mbaka , who spoke in English and Igbo intermittently , said God deserves money and there was nothing wrong with him asking for donations.

The cleric explained that bazaar day is strictly for raising of funds and that is the only time his church asks for donations .
Mbaka said , “ There are some people who are ingrates. These are people from the kingdom of succubus and Incubus . I want to tell you that all these things are caused by jealousy and envy . They are not fighting Mbaka for anything wrong.

“ Everyone who came was blessed but they turned it against me, saying I am after money . God deserves money. If you don ’t want to bring your own in your stinginess, hold it . I will give God all that I have and even if anybody wants to join them, you’ re free to join them.

“ Where God the Father, Son , and Holy Ghost are, there Fr. Mbaka will be. I will build this place for the church . Whoever felt insulted , I apologise. But I didn ’t come to your house . It was you who came for the bazaar. ”

The cleric said all those fighting him were fighting God . He subsequently asked God to punish his detractors and those “ firing arrows at him ” .

Although he did not mention Obi ’s name , Mbaka said any politician who had donated money to his ministry was free to send his or her bank account number and he would gladly return the donation .

He added, “ As for me, I am in high spirits. I want to assure you , those who are thinking that it is their money we will use to build this ministry, before the end of tomorrow , I will send all their monies into their accounts .”

On why he demanded money from Obi publicly , the cleric said he wanted the process of donation to be open and transparent so that no one would accuse him of diverting funds.

Mbaka said every person who made a donation on the day the bazaar held did so publicly .

The cleric added, “ We do it outside, publicly because if I am silent , rumours will begin to spread that someone gave me $10 m and why did Mbaka keep quiet? They will abuse me even if I am silent because anytime they want to attack this ministry, they will start somewhere.

“ If I am silent they will attack , if I talk , they will attack it . And don ’t forget that the liturgy was not tampered with . I finished the mass and even removed my priestly attire. No one can fault me on that .”
The cleric insisted that he was not partisan , adding that every person , regardless of political leaning, was free to come to him for blessings .
