Well in the absence of anyone better yes, Mata is one of those players that would probably play himself back into form. Similar to Rooney really.

Completely disagree with Fellaini over Mata but thats just me. Fellaini should be nowhere near the man utd squad while Mata should start every game.

Well that was terrible. Even worse is that I watched the match with losts of arsenal fans at my brother's house.

I actually didnt think we played badly but we've lost a lot of attacking verve in our play that''s for sure and i think its down to LvG's possession based style he's implementing that the players either arent good enough for or arent used to it. Di Maria should be playing in the middle 3 not wide on the right in my opinion. Fellaini shouldnt be anywhere near even the under 21 side. worse player on the pitch by a long long way. I felt LvG lost the 2nd half by removing Herrera for Carrick, I think AH picked up a yellow which didnt help his case but he helped not let us get overrun in the middle which happened in the 2nd half. I really hope LvG sees sense soon and drops Fellaini. Not blaming Fellaini for the defeat, I just feel he brings nothing productive to the table. His limited abilities are better served to be used at a mid table team.

LvG ultimately lost the match with his subs so he has to take the blame for that. we were better in the 1st half while Arsenal were better in the 2nd half. Hope he's learning quickly about English football. Spurs on Sunday is beyond massive.

Is it wrong that I kind of want Evans to get a ban?

I really wouldnt use the smiley there. We really should be challenging for the title because its not like Chelsea and City have been amazing. But we have been so bad that we're hanging on for 4th which is extremely embarassing given the investment.

for me, if LvG is using the diamond, Januzaj has no place unless as a no. 10. I think the 4-1-4-1 will serve us better for away fixtures, while we can use the 4-4-2 diamond or 4-3-3 @ home.

in the long run however, I'll like to see LvG settle on the 4-3-3 formation cuz it will guarantee good width as long we he sign another combatant in midfield.

Carrick, Evans, Falcao & Valencia/Young can go @ the end of this season. Wilson can also go on loan for a year.

We can try to get Reus, Pogba & a CB with Nani & Henriquez/Hernandez recalled.

You do know that from all you wrote there the only thing likely to happen is Falcao not staying permanetly?

LVG was in total control of himself throughout the presser. he never ranted or had his pitch dropping on & off like rafa. watch the presser again.

LVG did his rant & won afterwards. rafa did his rant & it backfired on him. you guys need to give LVG his kudos. the play isn't pretty but we had tonnes of games like this under SAF. play rubbish & steal 3 points.

the long ball/short ball ratio is also a myth! we have always played like this but trust the media to blow things out of proportion. our long pass proportion is 14% & the media are running with it cos sam allardyce used it to rib united.

it was shocking when opta came out with the facts that our long pass proportion was 13% in 07/08 season when we had tevez, rooney & ronaldo running like possessed animals. none of us here would say that side was a long ball squad.

Fact is, LvG should not be composing a report to respond to Big Sam. He should be smacking him off with a one liner which SAF or Mourinho would have done.

I've resigned my self to the fact we're going to lose DDG within the next 2 years.

I have to admit, I have found Di Maria to be very disappointing since he signed. I know he's not always been used in his best position but I've found his general crossing/final pass to be really poor,Which is a surprise to me as I used to see that as a strength of his.

I'm willing to give him a season to get used to the league as I really hope that is the issue here. But he's been performing like he's lacking confidence or something. Just seems unsure of himself and lacking confidence and composure.

Januzaj's problem is that he still feels he has a lot to prove so he spends a lot more time on the ball than he should. He should releasing the ball far quicker as he just seemed to predictable out there. He should stop squaring up to defenders so much and focus on being on the end of things.

Blind is such an excellent player. Really pleased with him. Wish he was a little quicker over 5-10 yards but no one is perfect.

I'll take the offiside opener, we didnt seem to get any of that type of luck last season.

i hope jones & evans are watching that. those 2 defenders give the opponents at least 4 scoring chances per game.

Not just the back 4 to be fair,The Arsenal midfield did a perfect job of screening the back 4 and crowding Silva away from the hole. I dont remember aguero getting a chance to isolate the defence at any stage. Just fantastic counter attack set up. Very impressed, hooe they don't keep that up. I do see them finishing in the top 4 for sure because its Arsenal and its just what they do under wenger. Just really need LvG to buck his ideas up asap.

The discipline and maturity by arsenal here at the etihad is the best i have seen them display in probably a decade.

Im not going to lie, i dont believe lvg knows his best 11 and to be honest i think i would give him a C grade on his current level. Not happy with his performance at all and it seems like hes made a mess of the squad he was trying to build.
