Liverpool will definitely be a force this season. The pace in their attack is just ridiculous. Good thing they didn't sort their defense and keeper out or they would be a good look for the title.

I'm just skeptical about this Matic signing. Hes a great player no doubt, but it seems Jose is running a quick-fix-quick-glory scheme. Does he have any long term plan for the club? Manutd is not just after immediate trophies but consistency. Matic is 29 already, Perisic is 28 and also linked to us. These guys wont give us a good 3 yrs without a steady and rapid decline. Fergie did it with Van Persie but we all understood he needed to break that record before retiring so the quick-fix option was understandable. I was not all that bordered about fee spent on Lukaku and Pogba because the years in them will eventually balance out the fees. But £40mil for a 29yr old? Haba! Was he really needed?

I will just watch as things unfold.

My guess is he's thinking we've lost a lot of experience with Bastian, Rooney and Zlatan leaving so he wanted experienced winners.

Do we just like this doom prediction thing or what? How's the squad worse than last year? We removed journeymen like Rooney whose wage was astronomical, Zlatan same thing, depay the rapper wannabee, schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. Yes we are a little light in midfield but we have the academy guys stepping up and the Transfer window is still very far from closing. Not like we need 10 new faces in the midfield either. This is the first preseason where all the guys integrated for the first time. Non of them besides Lindelof is new to each other nor the league. They managed to lose against Barca after a calamitous blunder by Valencia and its all doom and gloom season. We are good if we can just kill this buy every world star mindset we have. We have enough young talents willing to deliver if the manager can keep trusting in them. Martial will come good with game time and more trust from the manager.If Mourinho can stop throwing him to the bench after every solid performance or he flops a bit, maybe he'll come good. That notwithstanding more wingers will come. More people will step up but as it is now we will challenge this season.

All I see is a lot of Ifs. You can put a positive spin on the current squad all you want. The squad as it currently is, is not better than the squad that started last season. We've added Lukaku and Lindelof. Are they really upgrades over zlatan and Rojo for example? We can be hopeful of course but as it stands this squad is not really good enough at the highest level because it hasn't shown it deserves to hang with the Barca, Real Madrid and Bayern. Please don't put any stock in preseason results. I want to see something special from this squad we're massively investing in. Its not there at the moment but let's see if we get it before the window ends. I don't like the look of the other trams around us in the premier league either. Only city look like they be dangerous if Pep fixes their backline otherwise the premier league will be also-rans again in Europe. Not talking about Europa league.

The squad seems worse than we started with last year.

It's not about the payment for United fans, but for City fans. Considering the rivalry, it's insulting to City fans to have to go through United TV to watch their team. City fans will also be paying United and increasing our revenue. Plus City from the Twitter feeds I read looks like they don't have their own TV yet. The rivalry is the issue here.

Well I do agree with us pulling out of the deal because its obvious they never quoted 70m to us. They must have insisted on DDG in return for Morata and we told them where to go and got Lukaku. That I'm happy with because it means we won't be doing any business with Real anytime soon. Lukaku isn't my favorite but he's proven he's a very good goalscorer so we can't really ask for more than that.

I just hope we made the right decision going for Lukaku instead of Morata. I guess time will tell.

Apart from the middle the squad is currently bloated. Too many centre backs and too many attacking players. There has to be a little bit of a trim before anymore additions. Even the middle has Tuanzebe/TFM fighting for the defensive midfield spot so on the whole the squad is bloated unless Jose sends them on loan.

We definitely haven't helped the situation. We just paid over 75m for Lukaku and 89 for Pogba last summer.

Even Swansea can reject £40m for a player. The transfer business is not becoming its already a complete mess especially in England.

Well, Morata is a playmaker, I know he doesn't start matches but that doesn't change the fact that he is a playmaker.

Lukaku was not this magnificent last season so we can't say he is consistent in goal scoring. Though he has improved of recent.

Are you misspelling Modric or Tony Kroos as Morata? Or you have never seen Morata play before?
