I agree with most about Smalling, I had also forgotten how good a defender he can be which I imagine is why Serie A suits him. However, I reminded myself by watching a few Roma games during the Serie A restart and my goodness, Smalling on the ball looks like someone hopping on one leg while using crutches trying to play football. He looks so frightened on the ball it definitely wasnt that bad at united. I dont know why he has regressed when on the ball but he was awful. He can barely pass the ball forward. He would definitely do well at a lower team outside the top 6.

I think we should close the Smalling at united chapter personally. I like him but he's 30 now and yes he can still defend well but I prefer what we get from Lindelof and Maguire than him. They might not be enough for us to win the title but Smalling isnt improving what we have there.

As per Man Utd signing only Sancho, that's a big No. Ole confirmed we gettn max 2-3 players this window. Then we'll continue by Jan or Summer.

I wouldnt be surprised it the club only signs Sancho this summer. The whole football world is taking a big hit financially with no fans in the stadiums in particular. its not realistic to expect the same spending power.

I personally think we need more as well but it we only got Sancho and DVB for example. I wouldnt be upset with that. Although we do need another CB.

Buying one-season wonders is a dangerous thing. Even H. M. Son sef, I don’t rate him as highly as most people do. Getting to the top of your game is way easier than maintaining that top performance.

Son has maintained his level for the past 4 seasons in England.

From what little I've seen of Chong this season. I feel he could have done at least as much as Dan James has this season. Atl east aided his development.

On a slightly different note, I feel like Ole needs to add to his coaching setup.Maybe some more tactical experience. He seems to be doing well with his individual coaching but I'm not sure about the teams tactical strength.

For sure. I was just suggesting a possibility in terms of options at the back.

I would also support selling Jones,Smalling,Rojo and Bailly to buy another CB. Tuanzebe and TFM and deputise as well.

Dalot too should be looking at his future at the club.

It would mean, Lindelof,Maguire,New CB, Tuanzebe and TFM.

At a push AWB can also play there in a back 3. I'm sure we can find a youth player from the academy to also add further depth in CB or RB

This isnt saying anything new. We all know Pogba isnt like any of the listed players. Those are deep lying playmakers, While Pogba is a box to box player. We could definitely do with an upgrade of Matic/Fred/McT to play next to him and behind Bruno. No change of formation required.

I believe a better coach can do a lot more with Rashford and Martial. Say what you want but their goal output this season is impressive enough. This is Martial's first full season playing as a 9 in his career.
