InvestmentRe: Brexit: Nigerian Stocks Investors Lose N278bn by MrTour: 1:45pm On Jun 28, 2016
Nigeria is the most Useless country in the world, Brexit only has direct negative effect on Britain, Brexit is good news for Americans, Good news for most stable European countries but Bad news for Nigeria Why must Nigeria base its economic progress on negativity of other countries.

These are purely man-made negative effects in order to satisfy the greed among Nigerians.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Brexit: How The EPL Will Be Affected by MrTour: 11:11pm On Jun 24, 2016
The UK focused on Immigration and pushed for a Referendum, the UK failed to acknowledge the fact that immigrants have already trooped in and settled. These immigrants are such as some Eastern Europeans who come from low paid countries and of course the other set of migrants who invade a country with their 4th generation family members all living under one roof.

These migrants are giving birth like a bunch of chickens on heat, the children's children are multiplying and honestly there is nothing the British government can do about it. It is rather too late or better late than never.
PoliticsRe: Cameron’s Resignation, Demonstration Of Courage – Buhari by MrTour: 10:55pm On Jun 24, 2016
David Cameron has demonstrated the true qualities of a leader.

For those who may be wondering why he resigned even though he cheered on the British public for a referendum. David Cameron backed a stay within the EU even though he campaigned for votes to stay or leave the EU. He is stepping down for a new and fresh start for Britain, this is a man who has the love for his country at heart.

Unlike these monkeys in Nigeria who has no clue about modern politics and sit on their posts as if its their birth right.

All of them from Buhari, Saraki, Ekweremadu etc are all INCOMPETENT and must resign too. They can't even hold a two minutes conversation with politicians in developed nations.

Nigerian politicians are sickening and fantastically disgusting.

Foreign AffairsRe: Effects Of Britain Leaving The EU by MrTour: 1:17pm On Jun 24, 2016
The impact of Britain leaving the EU has been felt in other countries through the slump of Pound Sterling but there is one country where the slump in Pounds hasn't been felt and will never be felt, Guess the country?

...............

If you guessed right you are genius but if you guessed wrong you will soon know.

The country is Nigeria, everything in this damn country called Nigeria is so artificial undecided.

BusinessRe: How Much Did You Exchange The Dollar For Today? by MrTour: 4:56pm On Jun 19, 2016
The fact that most highly placed traders at Alaba or any other market in Nigeria require 25 million usd per week and the government can't provide it doesn't make the government incapable. There are laws in the land of what items that can have access to CBN approved exchange rates, the Federal government has listed such items as in favor of the development of the Nation, anyone who seeks forex to finance goods not listed on the government approved list is solely responsible for any rate obtainable and the government isn't responsible for that.

The United States who owns the USD is not even as dependent as Nigerians on the USD thereby the mentality of Nigerians towards obtaining USD by fire by force is what needs to change. America will not print more dollars because Nigerians can't control their demand for USD and even if Nigeria has $500 billion it will still finish within a short period.

Control is necessary in a government which is what the CBN is doing, GEJ's govt was spending the dollar like it was unlimited. Exchange rate of 1USD to N285 at parallel market is possible and can be sustained with improved mentality of Nigerians towards the USD.

For anyone saying where will the foreign currency come from to sustain a better exchange rate at the parallel market, the last time i checked Nigerian economy is still open for business and one of the benefits of a flexible exchange rate is to encourage foreign investors with interests in Aviation, hospitality, finance, health, petroleum.

If Nigerians truly have the love of the country at heart, those traders should team up among themselves to encourage their business allies overseas to come and open factories in Nigeria, when they do this, they don't just bring more USD to the country they also create Jobs and improve the economy.

Share the message and lets make the change.

the fact that i mentioned the amount she died for doesn't mean she deserves to die, it simply demonstrates the level of poverty in Nigeria, in most developed Nations you pick such amount in streets every half an hour cos its just change whereas in Nigeria people still die because of such amount.

sukkot:
so it would be better if she died because of 10,000 dollars ? the more money you die over the better ?

Thanks for your contributions, i heard some police at a filling station in Ijebu Ode cause road block to collect N100, they better watch out cos 007 is on the way cool

sleekcm:
1. Leave early. Not earlier than 5am. This way you avoid most of the police check points that will cause delays.
2. Have your papers intact. Customs especially.
3. Don't drive alone, get someone, preferably a driver to travel with you.

A lot of great tips have been written here already.

Good luck and have a safe home trip.

lol, i can't wait to taste that Akara. You mentioned customs, they stop and check for documentation, any other officials likely to stop me and cause delay?

Wow you departed quite early 4:30 and completed your journey quite early.

Secondly, i guess a full tank can take me through the journey as i wouldn't want to spend time waiting in the middle of bush queuing up to buy fuel thereby losing travel time. And as i am en-route for a trophy time is of essence 007 style cheesy

Thanks for your contributions.

I will surely download the map, many thanks.

TCD:
If you are using Android phone please download Nokia Here Maps in play store. it has free Nigeria map and navigation and it's fairly accurate. you can use it to plan your route and gives voice guided navigation so you wouldn't miss your way.

I myself will be driving from Calabar to Lagos through the ugep- afikpo- onitsha route which I'm not too familiar with. I hope I Don't get lost.

Very useful tips, thanks grin

bravolad:
Driving from Lagos to Enugu should not be a major problem if he has been driving in the city & has a firm control of steering albeit basic understanding of highway codes/driving rules, though our roads are not marked. Driving a long distance is a psychological thing dealing with your state of mind. Most times, inner fear is a major challenge that inhibits people from embarking on such journey.

There's always a one time to conquer that fear & hold the bull by the horn. The best way to drive on a route you are not familiar with is to leave early, (definition of early is relative) maintain a constant speed of 100/h or below. At this speed, you are likely to handle any situation. Have a friend who also drives well in the front seat & you should be ok. It's a pretty straight forward journey but where in doubt or confused, ask for direction.

On no occasion should you engage other drivers in competition or struggle over a lane because you feel it's your right of way; avoid all manner of contention and rivalry & veer off your lane when another driver seems to dominate. Keep your focus, use your mirrors and I think you will be fine.

Just an observation; the size of your engine does not necessarily matter as your are not engaged on drag race, even with a 1.4 litre engine, you are just fine.

Safe journey when you decide to leave.
Car TalkRe: My Car Tour From Lagos To Enugu (007 in Action) by MrTour(op): 10:04pm On Dec 15, 2015
These craters will surely cause more than leg pull for most cars.

There is a 1.8L turbo, i will upload more pics when i gt it back from servicing. Mine is petrol and i'm sure there are diesel turbo too.

I have a pic of the front rear.

nurey:
Oblo has shown you what a crater could look like, but Nigerian road craters are very deadly, I have experienced one and the way they bend rims and burst tyre is deadly. If one is extremely unlucky, you could loss a whole leg (identical to honda leg pull) or destroy your oil pan or something delicate underneath the car.

But I have a question to ask, the only Avensis that is turbo charged is the 2.2 D4D model as in a turbo charged diesel engine. So I haven't seen a 1.8L turbo charged version, so what engine variant are you using and a pix of the trophy Racer would be nice.
