scipher: the point is "it's old"..deal with itOur treasure, even older than your Airforce. |
agaugust:What do you think? Our Airforce was not established in 1964 like yours. It existed for many decades before the US and Nigerian Airforce came into being. Those old equipments are our treasure, we value them more than anything else. We are not in any position to donate them to the less fortunate in the likes of Nigeria. They are there to show the world where we come from. They are there for a purpose, to show the young and the upcoming generation where our Airforce come from. Its not good to keep records in your archives to tell the world that you are old, while you have no artifacts or nothing to show. We fought in many wars with those planes, they are our pride of the nation, knowing where our Airforce coming from. Fought both the 1st and 2nd world wars, when Nigeria at that time was still a bush and you could hardly see the plane around your skies. |
agaugust: |
agaugust: this a photo of south african air force year 1950 technology Dakota maritime warfare aircraft posted below, compare it to nigerian airforce ATR-42 marite warfare aircraft of year 2000 technology posted above. they are to do the same job, lol .south african military has many more old weapons of over 40 years old still in service and i will post them very soon. get ready for some bitter truth snydergp and msauza.Do not even mention passanger planes because currently you do not even have your own airline company. South Africa has even more experienced pilots than Nigeria, not long that plane would crush because of your incompetence. That cucumber plane has been carrying our warriors for many years and it never crushed. I wonder how long will yours survive because of lack of skills in your country to maintain planes. I don't trust anything Nigerian, just imagine flying Nigerian Airline overseas. Oh! It will b the day I will regret in my life. Just now recently, last year their Airforce was begging and pleading SAAF to train their staff and shape them into being professionals. That came after Air Show/exbition wherein our pilots were extraordinary among African nations including Brazil. I regret the day South Africa conceded to their plea. |
andrewza: Same here. What's your name.SA |
This is for everyone to read what people say on this forum that am also a member; http://m.topix.com/forum/world/ethiopia/TULKPD32V7L6CKLA4/p6 |
Oh!! Aguagust you are at it again, you know well that your military does not have the kind of equipment and technology we have. We don't need America or UK to upgrade equipments for us like you normally do. We do not send our students overseas to go and study advanced Aeronautical engineering, they do it right here in their fathers land. I wonder after you are beaten in this topic, what would you do. Perhaps, jump to the navy to try your luck. I feel for you, I know you don't like this sense of our greatness. You are wondering, how can we be the most successful country in Africa, while the "Giant of Africa" the biggest black nation on earth and the most populous country in Africa is failing. I know you don't like the way things are, but I guess is time for you to give up because you will never change the will of God. He liked it to be this way that South Africa should be greater than you even with their smallest nation. Just give it a try after 50yrs while this forum still exist. |
@ Aguagust- Do you think that the strength of our Airforce can simply be spied on and speedily be reduced to nothing by just the use of a simple internet that you would be browsing at the leisure of your bedroom. We have our own military intelligence that will always make sure that some info will never be readily available on that site. I have it on good authority that it is an open secret that Nigerian Airforce is young, inexperienced and ill-equipped and even the whole world knows. I can see that you are very desperate to uncover our weaknesses knowing well that we are the best Airforce in the whole of Africa. |
agaugust: SOUTH AFRICAN AIR FORCE : OLD AGE AND OUTDATED WEAPONS IN OPERATIONProbably you gone through the web that I attached about our old equipments that are about to go to our Air force museum, Lol!! Shame on you, try something else. Recently, we offered to donate 118 Helicopters to Zimbabwe, there is no Airforce that has that muscle in Africa. |
souldust: @msauza, you are right about the airforce. But it is good at what it does at the moment.Bwahahaha!!! Stop daydreaming and write facts. If you have failed to deploy your troops within a reasonable time in your neighbourhood down in Mali, how will you even manage to down your men here in SA in 24hrs time? It is apparent that you are a real Monkey general who will lead all his troops in to an ambush. Don't make me laugh please. |
scipher: another slowpoke's opinion..SMHThe truth hurts and I like to nail it where it hurts the most, ask Aguagust. Such a frustration was supposed to have been directed to President Goodluck Jonathan for failing to equip your warriors. Your fellow comrade Aguagust started as the most hopeful, infact so convinced that our military is just only overrated by media and does not have all the hardware they are rumoured about. After realising that even the internet confirmed every claim, even more worse with images, he started creeping away like a dog with the tale between its legs. He now surely knows that SANDF is even much mightier than is purported, but well out of shame and green jealousy, he won't say it openly. I understand he tried his luck but was defeated because my fellow countryman Andrewza showed him more pieces of hardware that he could not match. Finally we nailed him with the ultimate punch when he discovers that from early 2011 we have been assembling the latest and advanced badgers in our territory and not far away in Europe where they normally get most of their supply. I could even read it between the lines through his last post that the man was very disappointed for SA to have such kind of priviledge and blessings from the almighty. No country in the world has so much fascinating and rich history like SA, quite surely every African and every one in the world at some stage came to pass special chapters of lessons about the SA history at school. |
One thing that I have come to realise about this Nigerian military which is purportedly praised to be the strongest in Africa is that, all its three arms are unbalanced and are as follows as compared to SANDF; 1.ARMY- they seem to have invested a lot in their armies and failed to take into consideration the fact that is very difficult to realise victory in battle by merely utilising land forces without support from other arms of service. 2.AIR FORCE- it is inarguably their weakest link and very much inexperienced. Countries such as US invest a lot in their Air Force. Knowing well that mass air strikes discourages the enemy even more faster. No doubt that Nigerian Air Force cannot be compared to SA Air Force owing to the fact that they are not yet exposed as their SA counterparts. SAAF is one of the oldest Air Force in the world, evn far older than USAF, probably the second oldest. It (SAAF) took part in many wars from both the first and second world wars, cold war, Korean war and small activity in Angola, etc 3.NAVY- this is again one of their weakest arms, ill-equipped and inexperienced, not even categorised as blue water navy and doubt if they are trained to use modern technology as many of their equipments and hardware are outdated. No doubt cannot compare to South African Navy. |
agaugust: i am almost closing my comments on this forum. i have proved my point and i will stand by it, south african military will NOT defeat nigerian military in a war. simple as A,B,C. the south african military is over-rated, it is a strong force but grossly over-rated by many people who cannot do an intelligent and strategic research like i have done for the past two months or so. this thread topic was dead on page 12 or so, until i began to comment, now the thread extended to page 35. so far i have proved my points with clear evidence anyone can find on internet. nigerian military is not a weak, small, incompetent, poorly trained, poorly equipped and in-effective fighting force full of old weapons, NO, NO and NO.We will beat the hell out of you until the owner (world) comes out and plead for you. We are now considered more as a quasi-first world country in military and you know well that your country is bankrupt and war involves many aspects that involves money. Your arms company is very weak and you have nothing in reserve. By the time you will be asking the world to help you with the money to buy new weapons, Nigeria would have already been under siege. Remember, Apartheid SA fought the bush war tirelessly without acquiring any weapons abroad owing to arms embargo that was meted out on them while Cubans continuously got their mass supply from Russia. They (SA) were outnumbered with a ratio of 1:10, but still the fighting spirit was always there even under harsh conditions. Remember, during the epoch of apartheid our military was so disintegrated that every tribe in SA had their own government and Military. Now that our military is integrated, even more improved than ever before and free from any international arms embargo and sanctions, I believe that we will have what it takes to defeat Nigeria. |
gallivant: Listen Nigerian and South African bitches,Kenya defence forces Rule. |
agaugust: i have checked south african army official website link http://www.army.mil.za/equipment/weaponsystems/armour/index.htm no record of badger vehicle in service with your army, so how do you use weapons you dont have ? also as i said 300 nigerian army AFV with radar guided missiles plus long distance 'stand off' target tracking and locking electronic systems will wipe out 1,200 to 1,800 south african IFV armed with turret guns, engaging 4 to 6 missiles launched from each nigerian AFV. its very simple mathematics.Aguagust- you are indeed suffering from a mind of a rat with just that little oldy you are certain and convinced that you will contain our armies. We don't need that simply because of our terrain. We don't need that to cross water ditches since is too risky to do that, the enermy will ambush you even before you can ever think of executing such a foolish manoeuvre. It's only monkeys who will lead their whole troops into traps. We have our Genie formation in place who will workout their magic within few minutes to transport our equipments across water surfaces without compromising security or endangering lives of our troops. I have served in one of those squadrons and was fully trained to transport our equipments across water surfaces without having even to touch a single drop of water. Read for yourself about our latest technology http://m.engineeringnews.co.za/article/new-badger-fighting-vehicle-to-be-assembled-in-south-africa-2011-03-15 http://www.militaryfactory.com/armor/detail.asp?armor_id=425 |
andrewza: https://i602.photobucket.com/albums/tt104/vor033/South%20Africa/22_zpsc0d8c37f.jpgAndrew is that a medic convoy? Or so to say Mfezi |
andrewza: that not that modernAguagust- is that a joke or what? You ridicule our more advanced home grown technology as if you have something better. Bwahahaha!!! You are a clawn indeed. Admit it your armies are nothing compared to us in terms of both equipment and technology. How I wish you visit SA to come and see yourself. |
scipher: some nigerians in SA might be into selling drugs and s#it, that doesn't mean you should under estimate us in all measures. up here in the west we've got the good, bad and ugly like every country. FYI: your country is democratically young and I'm somewhat concerned about the black empowerment ish going on down there... all I see in corruption on the rise, it's going to eat you all up like termite. mark my words! I'm sure your precolonial masters won't let that happen..When ANC came into power and took over from National Party (NP) which is the former ruling party supporting the cause of Afrikaner Nationalism which won the 1948 elections and forthwith introduced apartheid policies championed by its chief architect Mr Verwoed, the truth must be told though that they started embarking on major projects of rebuilding the country that they inherited from the English. In 1994, when the ANC finally took over, our country was so disintegrated that infact it looked like what Nigeria looks like today. There no tarred roads in our township, sanitation, tap water, electricity and generally no basic services. White only areas were the only developed parts of our country. Then the ANC started with radical policy change and embarked on major projects to develop townships and former historically disadvantaged communities. It is apparent the ANC that you accuse today of corruption and mismanagement has brought so many changes, from Gautrain, world class Stadia, infrastructural development, powerstation to upgrade our 45000MW capacity to name but few. Black Economic Empowerment policies that you so much ridicule today gave birth to what you know today as MTN and DSTV which equally benefited the economy of Nigeria by offering employment to young Nigerians who almost gave in from the federal government. |
scipher: I provided some links in the previous page, check it out, even your country admitted it..c'mon dude, if not for us, you'd probably be dead by nowWhat about thousands of youth who died in the struggle, just for you to only come to Nairaland and want to score cheap political points by claiming the victory you never achieved. Your support was partisan and cannot amount to helping every South African. Your support to ANC could not last long until you started complaining about financial problems. You were the only hope for Africa then, but you failed to intervene militarily while your help was much needed. That inertia kind of response does not only start with Mali, it has always been there for ages and has finally married your forces. I told you internet is unreliable, give me a citation and quotes for the book that will substantiate your statement and assertions. I am not lazy to read, unlike aguagust who will browse the internet the whole day. I reiterate " if you want to hide information from a black man, hide it in a book" |
souldust: you represent the whole of what? Is this what you think down there in the south? Better wake up from your sleep lazy man.During Apartheid era we were since waiting for your armies to came and save us from all atrocities of Apartheid. It is very wrong to claim victory that you never achieved, freedom was achieved through hardship and pain by South Africans who never had any military support from any country. I never recalled any moment in our lifetime where Nigerian armies could be seen anywhere in our territory to rescue us. I know the truth hurts my friend or should I say that the so called "Giants of Africa" feared the vicious apartheid forces whose strength could only amount to less than 25000 personnel with potion of their members deployed in Angola and Namibia. We were hopeless and our only hope was imprisoned in MADIBA, mass killing was the order of the day, but just only rumours were doing the rounds that the Obasanjo boys would come to our rescue and they just never pitched up. What an embarrassment and disappointment to the defenceless, who had to brave themselves up since there was no hope and charge at the heavily armed apartheid savages, obviously with bad aftermath. |
scipher: lol.. stick to the topic... you know "nufin"For bombs, weapons, tanks, your so called OBJ's to manufactured most of the parts have to be imported from South Africa my friend. |
agaugust:Nigeria- bag of money- bwahahaha!!!. A country with poor service delivery and poor infrastructure. Come on Nigeria does not move me a little because is only dependent in a single commodity, which is oil. You cannot even refine that oil because you do not have the muscle to do so? SA does not have oil yet we can refine it to its final phase. Why can't you atleast speak of Egypt, yes, of course I could have been scared a little because is the only country in Africa that gives me a headache. SA produces platinum, Gold, Aluminium, iron ore, Manganese, Coal, and many more. Do you know that for a car/cellphone/computers to be made or any device that comprises structural plates to be manufactured most of the parts have to be collected here in South Africa? |
agaugust: Copyright 2007, Defense UpdateI don't know how many times must I tell you. South Africa never lost any war. 1. In a bush war South Africa had many challenges, being; - Only whites which were minority group in SA were recruited in majority in the force as it was suspected that black South Africans will only betray the SADF after having acquired the military skills to join the enemy (ANC) which was the alliance with the Cubans. -South Africa was under international arms embargo and sanctioned globally and that posed a threat of not acquiring enough weapons and still was under a huge financial debt internationally. -The manpower of the SADF was just below 25 000 and that prompted the parliament to pass legislation to criminalise refusal and make it compulsory for young white South Africans to be enlisted in the force. They were referred to as the loyalists and future leaders and proponents of apartheid policies. -South Africa was itself facing many domestic problems due to political riots across the country and as such not so many soldiers could be deployed to Angola as others had to remain behind to stabilize the country. -There was also a turmoil and political upheaval in Namibia which was the colony of SA and run as South Africa's fifth province, the cause which was championed by SWAPO for the liberation of Namibia. More armies had to be deployed in SWA(South Western Africa) now known as Namibia. -The only sane president of Apartheid South Africa, Mr De Klerk who was acting president then in 1989 after taking over from ailing vicious and racist President Botha before being properly elected never followed the trend of his predecessors of cruelty. After 23 years of the long fought war on the African soil had to call it off. He is even hated today among White South Africans for the action he took that finally changed the face of SA. Apartheid South Africa never retreated because they lost, either way even in stalemate, compromise has to be attained from one of the parties in conflict. the president did it for the sake of peace and even if you go on statistics there were many Cuban casualties than South Africa. Furthermore, Apartheid South Africa's last resort was made clear to the world that they will opt to use nuclear power to realise their ambition, but such decision had always been hampered by America. Buy yourself the book title "The South African Border War" so that you will be informed. I prefer to read books because internet is very unreliable and deceiving. What are you waiting for, get up and visit a book shop now and stop browsing unreliable sources which will cause you to talk poo at the end of the day. You will also came to know that South African manufactured weapons were tested in a real war. Like it or not, our proudly South African are used across the globe, even in Nigeria. What happened in the bush war cannot be credited under the name of the newly formed South African National Defence Force under the new democratic government of South Africa. We cannot account to the mass killing of innocent Cubans who travelled from far and braved themselves to defend defenceless Angolans, while the likes of the so called "Giants of Africa" with the most feared armies took the back seat. |
One thing I don't understand is that Boko Haram ( Islamic rebel group) is roaming free in Nigeria doing as they please and killing innocent Christians, while the so highly praised Nigerian army is doing nothing about it. Do they fear Boko Haram? Secondly they dragged their feet to intervene in Mali when their help was so much dearly needed and while they knew well that it was their responsibility but instead they opted to run away from their regional duties. They waited for so long until France finally took over. Praise be to France who brave themselves to engage rebel forces in Mali even though they did not follow necessary protocol. Now that France is already in Mali, it's only now Nigeria get a wake up call because the poor French will be used as a shield by cowards who could not engage in the first place. This is disgusting that the AU itself praised France (western country) instead of Nigeria. How I wish that Boko Haram could have been here in Mzansi. We could have dealt with them accordingly and beat them up until the owner comes out. A week would have been a lot much to exterminate them so much that even their tracks would have been invisible. |
agaugust: i hear your comment, but i am still waiting for snydergp and msauza to read my posts at the on DENEL and south african MRAP RG-31. and i have some more 'hot' posts coming tomorrow, i will be releasing my missiles one by one. its time to post my research results and let the public judge the nigerian army and correct their wrong impressions. i know that army and what they can do in battle. snydergp and msauza please read my posts on DENEL and MRAP RG-31 before i release some 'hot' posts. You can do a lot of talking but it won't change the fact that Nigerian military is ranked below South Africa. You know South Africa is very rich and even so, our budget doubles yours. Don't ever try to compare the two because it will be like sparing the little boy and much tougher macho man in a ring. SANDF and Nigerian Military which I don't know what is called are completely incomparable. The former is well equipped in a prosperous country while the latter is still facing many challenges. |
agaugust: south africa's biggest weapons manufacturer in heavy financial debt , DENEL in troubleIt does not matter the fact is South Africa has been manufacturing weapons even before any country in Africa started developing. I am not going to argue, infact the whole world knows. In debt or not Denel is greatest in Africa, God is my witness. |
agaugust: for the ignorant and poorly informed south africans who say nigerian military have no rifles to match south african military rifles, i have listed the rifles and pistols nigerian army has in their armoury including american M-16 rifes.Like it or not, SA is far greater than Nigeria in terms of manufacturing of Arms. Nigeria is considered only a toddler since South Africa have been manufacturing weapons even before Nigeria were granted independence. That's a fact, you ask it anywhere in the world you will be told that South Africa is great. We represent the whole of Africa. |
Who will ever believe that the SAAF is the second oldest Airforce in the world. Read below; http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/magazine/2006/07/stuff_eng_photo_saaf.htm |
Henry120: Unlike SA, pictures of hardware are very difficult to come by. The military in nigeria is not yet very open. It is still secretive. Remember, we in nigeria just started practising democracy. Photos of hardware are really difficult to come by.There is nothing secret about hardware. There are some information that an enemy cannot do anything about. Hardware is no secret, whether you are democratic or autocratic. The same hardware you use might be used by many countries, no excuse. When any country enter into arms deal, there will be many arms manufacturing companies from various countries that will compete to struck such a deal. For example, Why should it be a secret when Nigeria wants to buy 4 Submarines, 50 fighter planes, 15 gunships, 60 tanks and 6 frigates? Obviously such a deal will leak to the public to know. |
These are some of the equipments SA soldier use in battle; http://www.sa-soldier.com/data/04_equipment/04_1equipment.htm |
Henry 120- why do you insist on posting your assault rifles which still are uneasy to carry for longer hours because of its fixed butt? Show us your hardware |
Henry120: You are correct, equipments cost billions of dollars, I cannot place our defence procurement on the internet, however if you look hard you might see it here.I agree they are more but not enough. Have you seen the total budget of Nigerian military is not even half the budget of South Africa's department of defence. Such budget is very small to procure modern equipments since you cannot even develop your own arms. SA has a lot of that, you must see them when they are on convoy across our roads. |
