Mariangeles: How does almond milk taste ? Here in Nigeria, the alternative to cow's milk is either coconut milk or tigernuts milk... Hello. You can get it in most the big supermarkets. There is Almond Joy and Alpro brands. It is milk extracted from almond nuts. Not so bad. I will take tiger nut milk over it any day. |

cococandy: I served it with coleslaw.
The only thing missing is jollof rice. .
The recipe I used from YouTube calls for some evaporated milk and ground beef(I used regular Walmart full cream milk). The milk apparently helps the consistency to be creamy. It worked out and doesn’t affect the taste. Just a little, not too much milk. This looks really good. I have used coconut milk to make moi moi. I will keep the evaporated milk in mind next time I make moi moi. |

Halcyon123: just go bit by bit till it curdles. And yes you can buy the pap and soak but you need to allow it for like two days to get the sourness. Thank you very much. |

Halcyon123: I soak the soyabeans overnight. In the morning I wash and then grind. Then I mix the grinded paste with water and sieve the milk then straight to the fire. When it starts boiling, I add sour water(gotten from pap) and it does the curdling. Thank you. How much of the sour water? A cup or bit by bit? Can I just buy akamu, mix it in water and wait for it to settle over night and use the water from it? I am asking because I don't have the sour water at the moment. |

cococandy: Yummy Tofu and vegetable stir-fry. It should be healthy except that I eat it with noodles and other unhealthy stuff.
P.S I’m obsessed with Le-Crueset cookware (discovered their brand not too long ago). They are so worth it. Wonder why no one told me before. What with all the chefs on this thread . I started a collection. Red colors to be added next This looks really good. I will get some tofu (awara) when I am out tomorrow. I have been craving it for a while. |

lorhema: My mother visited Jos in the seventies and still talks about the quality of the suya she ate then and the rich colour of the flowers.
Jos is still a nice place. The heat in April and May was unprecedented ( up to 40*C) but oldies feel it is due to more than global warming. A couple of them felt it was helped by the cutting down of trees which lined major roads by individuals. The wood is used for construction work! Wow! That suya must have been tasty! The weather changes in ways that are different from how it was. If trees are cut down, then replanting should be done. Man has an inherent trait to destroy nature. I will make out the time to visit Jos soon. My silent fear is safety. |

otukpo: She looks good. Lovely gown.
But i hope she is not trying to spoil her complexion with cream as the patches on her knees are not looking good. Oinem, it is normal to have dark knees, elbows and knuckles, especially for her complexion. It is abnormal when the surrounding skin is very light and the knuckles, knees etc are abnormally dark. |

glossy6: I was using septrin for sometime until the day it caused my lips to get swollen and i was advised by my doctor to stop using it. Meanwhile, it was on prescription I react to Septrin or any drug that contains sulphur. When I see a doctor, the first thing I mention is the reaction I have to drugs that contain sulphur. I had a really bad reaction one time - rashes all over, my lips had sores and I felt like crap! Her reaction to the drug is just too much! I hope she gets the help she needs. |

Leriebloom: MY LAST EXPERIENCE (forever I hope)
My friend and I woke up pretty early and left the house. She was leaving for Benin while I was leaving for Enugu because I had a flight to catch by 12:15pm. I told the bike man to take me to any park I can get Enugu bus and he took me to one miserable Nyannyan park. I was the first to get a ticket for the first bus to Enugu. I kept waiting for more passengers because we were just three. I spoke to the guy loading the bus and explained to him that time wasn't on my side so he had to push me to port Harcourt bus. When the bus started moving, that was when the driver remembered he had to fill his tank. We stayed on a short queue , but it was still enough to eat into someone's time. By the time the bus started moving it was past 8. To cut the long story short I got to Enugu by 12, I rushed to where I could get a cab. And for the cab guy to take me to the airport he said 4k,I didn't even have the time to waste so I entered. The driver was on his highest speed, but still we couldn't make it. We got to the airport and I rushed down to Arik stand, only for me to be told I had missed my flight. There was no other flight for lag until Sunday by 12",and I had to add extra money which was a tad bit too much. I left the airport, paid a cab man to take me to town to any affordable hotel. I hate sleeping alone so I was scared all through d night, I had to call a friend who tried keeping me at ease. It worked and I slept off. I woke pretty early Sunday morning, dressed and called the cab guy only for his line to be switched off. I had to drag my box down the road and waited until I saw a Keke. I jumped into it. He took me to peace mass park where I got a lag bus, and now I am home Enjoy the rest of your Service year, create meaningful friendships, take advantage of professional courses for Corpers, lay impact in the little way you can and avoid Tiv men and randy male Corpers looking for cheap thrills!!! And enjoy eating all tge fruits you can for "chinkini" money. All the best! |
