Skyview01:I don't have issue if you ignore. You are not under any compulsion to respond. I asked you questions and instead for you to have a civil discourse around it, you were pointing to your job. People are being misled by stories like this, and when they get abroad, they have unnecessarily high expectations which will either push them into depression or crime. While I don't have issue with people travelling, i have great concerns with individuals having unrealistic expectations going to a white man's land. |
Skyview01:Where you work does not matter. The reality is what we are discussing here. You mentioned a brand new car, right? Why will some with 2-year diploma buy a brand new car? How will he be able to sustain the repayment. Brand new car in the perspective of someone in Nigeria who has not travelled means that person is rich. A guy with a 2-year diploma buying brand new car in Canada is not rich, he is about to self destruct financially because he cannot sustain the repayment. |
Skyview01:You are still not responding to my questions. Canada is a socialist country. And thus always want to bridge the gap between the poor and the rich, hence the high tax. How many construction factory worker earns CAD 100K. After tax, what does it remain? After paying all his bills, what does it remain. Is it a common thing for factory worker to earn 100k CAD IN Canada. Nigeria has godfather, Canada has canadian experience and getting jobs through network. If you live in Canada, you must be aware of this. I am not comparing Nigeria to Canada, but I want us to be modest in our submission so as not to make others have unnecessarily high expectations. |
Skyview01:I am sorry you are only looking at only one HALF of the balance sheet. You are looking at money from the figure. No. Money needs to be looked at from the values. You spend more in an economy that has its currency devalued. I don't understand your economic argument or theory about earning in dollars and praying for the local currency to decline. You have certainly put economics upside down. |
Skyview01:You and I know that what you put down here was a half truth. The other half you did NOT mention was that all these were acquired on DEBTS which has to be serviced. Failure to do so, the person will be kicked out of the house or have the car taken away from him which will heavily impact on his credit rating. And what kind of job can a two-year diploma student get that will position him to be able to finance a brand new mercedez benz , with all his others bills? |
UnfairLife7:Okay. I know you want a conversation, I will give you, if you can be civil. Now that we have established that you have a common sense and you passed through the 4 walls of classrooms, can you explain how he affirmed that decline in Naira is to his advantage being a Nigerian based in Canada?. |
TruthsFM:Likely happen ? Permutation and combination pastor ![]() |
fergie001:The battle of two father Xmas. Ondo indigenes the losers, the docile, bribed state house of assembly the winner. Is this how to practice democracy? |
UnfairLife7:You based your argument on hear say,I base mine on first hand information. If you know how much the US govt lost to cyber crime during covid and how much their corporation keeps losing, you will marvel. Lot of fraudsters operate there as citizens. I understand you. You have this traditional belief that most citizens are rich. Sorry to bust your bubble, most citizens are below the poverty line You think the same effort you use to earn one pound is the same you will use to earn one naira. You even said one pound is useless to them. You have a flawed expectation of outside the country and I will rest my argument here with you. |
NotProphet:You have turned from being a judge to an FBI who knows the inner working. You are suffering from delusional grandeur. |
NotProphet:With you as the judge ![]() In that sane country, he forfeited money without going to jail. So which sane country are you talking about here? |
NotProphet:I'm sorry but your extended family, you and your family are Nigerians too. So based on what you typed they are also. ![]() |
UnfairLife7:While I wouldn't desire to change the trajectory of the discourse, permit me to drop one or two messages. It seems you haven't been outside the country before and trust me, I was not been condescending. Most people you see building edifice in Nigeria from abroad are into crimes. I didn't say all but most. I know some people will come to attack me but that's the fact. Most people are slaving from multiple jobs and are lowly paid. After paying their bills, little remains. Now , how will such afford even a plot of land in prime areas or afford to build overly sophisticated structure. I repeat, that one pound is earned with absolute sweat and blood |
UnfairLife7:£1 is not useless to them - it takes blood and sweat to earn it. And you should be concerned with what is left after paying bills, then they send the money home to access the same market. It pays no one. It is an illusion if you feel they have an advantage. |
NotProphet:The truth stares you hard in the face, and even you know what the outcome will be deep in your soul. We will soon know who is playing...tik tok tik tok |
NotProphet:I was not bringing emotion, I was trying to interpret in a layman's language the words of the honourable Justices. Obi and Atiku are boxing shadows. As usual, It is a matter of time before you start swearing at the Supreme Court Justices. |
NotProphet:There is SEEMINGLY ambiguity and that is why we constantly have this argument. But you will agree with me that if the framers of constitution really intend to give Abuja a special status, it will be expressly stated in a very clear manner. That was the position of the honourable judges. When you have ambiguity in law, you approach the Judiciary to interpret the law. They have done their job, you guys rejected it and you have moved on to the supreme court. Wait for the Supreme Court to nail the coffin eternally. |
The court in its infinite wisdom has ruled that if the framers of the constitution wants to give Abuja a special status, they would have expressly and clearly stated it in the constitution without any ambiguity. The framers of the constitution will NEVER leave such a sensitive issue as one of the compulsory requirements to the topmost seat in Nigeria in the realm of assumption . It will be clear, and direct if that was their intention. Let them keep chasing shadows. |
If only we are a producing country, exporters will be laughing to the bank. Do you think the United States is happy right now that dollar is becoming stronger against other currencies? Can't you see the curse to UK a a result of pounds sterling being too strong a currency? Do you understand the wisdom in Chinese govt artificially depreciating Yuan? Only the educated with sound analytical minds, and intellectual of note can relate to what I just typed. |
DevilSignature:I am one of them and thunder will first fire the illiteracy in you before it eventually strikes you. You expect this govt to be subsidizing the naira against dollars and strangely still you are yearning for infrastructural development? You are expecting foreign investors to come into Nigeria to mop up your unemployed graduates when the foreign investors won't get the true worth of their dollars if Nigeria is still subsiding naira against dollars? You can't eat your cake and still have it. That is the true value of the Naira against the dollars, deal with it. Nigeria needs to quit pretending that Naira is improving against dollars through underlying subsidy. The country will go bankrupt at a point in time. Now that we all know the problems, all hands must be on deck to reverse the tide. Change your insatiable appetite for foreign goods. Govt should patronise more home grown goods too . They should stop jamboree trips to abroad in the name of seminars. Refineries should work. Agriculture must be encouraged. Stop using naira to chase dollars. |
Warmaterial:That's not true. They are accessing the same market with it's attendant inflation, and their money kept in the bank in naira in Nigeria is losing value as well. |
Austindark:What exactly do you want to protest about ?. Protest has been abused as a civil right tool in the country. Your insatiable demands for foreign goods when you produce nothings has led us to this point. So, all hands need to be on deck. This is not the time to protest. Your president, even Obama, does not have the magic wands to reverse this trend as it is unless we all do the needful. |
slowice:You have the opportunity to show the "infinite corruption" at the Supreme Court. Once judgement is not in your favour, you scream "corruption" to the high heaven. And I can bet you never listened or even read the judgement as you will consider it too long. It was strongly assumed that you base your judgement on "hearsay". So typical |
TruthsFM:Then what will you say about Olamide song which encourage people to be "wicked - wuwa ika" or 9ce that openly encourage Yahoo Yahoo and even mention popular fraudster's names one by one, singing their praises in "living thing" album ?. See, that music industry is worse than Nollywood. They are into drugs, crimes and all sort of criminality. But where is the agency that will do the job? Moribund |
slowice:Evidences in the court of opinion, rather than in the court of law. |
I don't feel sorry for Atiku, it was Peter Obi that I feel so sorry for considering he is the younger version of the two of them. Atiku fate was eternally sealed when Obj documented him as a thief in his book. Obi handled this badly. The little grace he enjoyed has been wiped off. So, how will Obi canvass for vote in the North and South West - two regions which you cannot afford to lose if you want to be a Nigeria President? Meanwhile, Asiwaju could afford to lose the East and still win. Obi should have been spending his time to build bridges with these two regions, and project his popularity more. 2027 is already sealed for Asiwaju. It will be a jolly good ride |
Toks2008:You are daydreaming. Even the CSU lawyer refers to Tinubu using pronoun "he" in court. You guys sound like drunk jesters sometimes. Forensic expert submission over issuing authority submission? Which one is more valid and tenable?. It is forensic expert that will tell CSU that the certificate which CSU issued and which they claimed was valid was actually not? Reason now. This was how Obi brought one silly dude to court calLing himself software architect before his testimony was expunged from the court record. I still remembered how you guys were jumping up and down like a frog online on the day of his testimony. |
slowice:Is Mr Obi the Pandora clean? |
Toks2008:Stop being half clever. Did you bother to read why CSU said they could NOT authenticate the certificate submitted to INEC in court? CSU lawyer said they could not because they did not see the one submitted to INEC, and so they could not confirm if it was authentic or forged, and the judge accepted because that was reasonable. The CSU lawyer affirmed that they could ONLY certify the certificate issued in their record, which was reasonable again and the court accepted. Did you notice that the CSU lawyer in court was using the pronoun "he" for Tinubu in his submission to the court and even confirmed his graduation date. Sometimes you guys jump up like babies at the sight of candy. It's a futile waste of time. https://saharareporters.com/2023/09/13/chicago-university-says-it-cant-confirm-president-tinubus-certificate-submitted-inec-us |
Truths9ja:And what exactly is Ilebaye's father proud of. Watching her own daughter's drunken state, exposing her boobs and ass for public viewing on Television? |
Truths9ja:It is good. Seeking support for ilebaye for representing Kogi in worlds mathematics competition. This guy has revealed where his objectives lie before the next Guber election . What do you actually expect from Dino Melaye? |
Johnnyessence:Falana always looking for opportunities to be relevant. |
