Russia can do nothing. His own army is tied up in a war of attrition.

Infact, Putin has called for the coupist to restore the democratically elected president.

Wagner might attempt to fill the gap and they will run into immediate battle with ECOWAS and EU. Russia wont want to be in the bad book of the same Africa countries that he is trying to have on its side.

There will be military intervention in Niger if the coupists dont do the needful.
PoliticsRe: Oyo Workers Protest, Lock Secretariat, Demand Palliatives, Others by MT: 2:15pm On Jul 31, 2023
Oyo state governor was busy creating more kings that will gulp more revenues from the state instead to think out of the box on how to relieve the pains of the Oyo State citizen.

Shame.
PoliticsRe: Oyo Workers Protest, Lock Secretariat, Demand Palliatives, Others by MT: 2:12pm On Jul 31, 2023
Reference:
But the causative of their sufferings is inflation and that is macro-economics and that is the exclusive preserve of the Federal government. So they may as well be barking up the wrong tree. Isn't there a Federal secretariat over there.
That is not correct.

Oyo state governor has done nothing with the big monthly allocation he received from the federal government.

We cant be blaming FG for everything.

All governors took 3 times the state allocation they always take last month as state allocation.

Oyo State Governor did nothing with his own so far.

The citizens need to demand more from their state governors than the President.

The governors are the true definition of selfishness and corruption.

Nigeria needs to raise their games. I want to believe they were so cautious due to the precarious state they were at the start of the game.

They have to be highly tactical if they will be meeting England, who are more tactically and technically sound.

I wish Oshoala could start from the bench and introduced into the game later.

I've not. I will next time they play. I don't know about others but I watch football to be entertained. Hopefully, I'll get it with the Colombians too.
Colombian girls are my adopted team in the tournament. Even if they lose later on, they entertain and look solid on the ball.

China needs to be in the English face. They can beat them. It will be an interesting contest.

No one has qualified yet in England team.

We need to win this match so we don't play England...
What if China beats England in the next match by 2 goals to nil? and Denmark beats Haiti?

England is possibly out

All to play for in that group

I swear to God. I have time to watch all the matches in the world cup, but I prefer to watch only the highlights. Can't sit and watch these women play with their two left legs.

It's only the Japanese and Germans that have impressed me with their technical football.

The rest just play like primary school children.
Have you watched the Colombian girls who beat your favorite German girls ?

I guess the falcons allowed to dispense their energy in the first half.

Tony Payne is such a beauty to watch.

Kanu and Payne are telepathic.

How did the Irish keeper keep that out ?

We are either facing England or Denmark, so we face England if the game ends like this or face Denamrk if we win.

But these girls look jaded, I think they over-celebrated their victory over the Aussies.
England, China and Denmark all have realistic hope of qualification from their group. Their last match will decide it.

PoliticsRe: Jim Obazee: Tinubu Appoints Special Investigator To Probe CBN & Related Entities by MT: 8:23pm On Jul 30, 2023
fergie001:
Jim Osayande Obazee has a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Benin; a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Lagos, and a certification in strategic financial analysis for business evaluation from Harvard University, USA.

He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), and a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and the American Accounting Association (AAA).

SOURCE

Obazee is not new to controversies:

- In 2013, he was accused of sexual harassment by his Personal Assistant, Abimbola Yakubu. He had allegedly repeatedly threatened to sack Mrs. Yakubu, his PA of three years, for not acceding to his amorous advances.

-Through the FRC, he recommended the sack of ex-CBN Governor, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi in 2014.

-In 2015, he suspended the FRC numbers of Atedo Peterside (then Chairman of Stanbic IBTC), Sola David-Borha (then Group Managing Director) and two other Directors over alleged infractions in the financial statements and thereafter imposed N1bn fine on the Bank. A decision that he overturned two months later.

- In 2016, he introduced National Code of Corporate Governance (NCCG), forcing General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, to step down from the position. The code stipulated a maximum 20 years for heads of non-profit organisations.

- The decision hitting the non-profit organisations caused a friction between Mr. Obazee and then Trade and Investments Minister, Mr. Okechukwu Enelamah. He had stubbornly refused to shelve the implementation of the NCCG, a decision that forced his sack in January 2017.

Obazee like Enelamah, was a Pastor at the RCCG.

He was first appointed FRC Executive Secretary in 2010 and re-appointed in 2014 before his sack in 2017.
Way to go.

CBN has been used as a conduit to steal lot of our commonwealth, especially the Emefiele dude.

I watched the revelation by a rep member on Brekete family, I was shocked at the degree and level of corruption at CBN.

So brazen!
TravelRe: Why A Nigerian Was Denied Schengen Visa (Refusal Letter) by MT: 6:01pm On Jul 30, 2023
1stGenAmerican:
Wrong. Your host country advises their citizens. You’re a guest from the named country , not a citizen of the host country.
In order to get the visa, you prove that you have ties to and will return your homeland that is already in an advisory but then later say it’s too dangerous when you already knew that and promised you’d go back before you left? The governments aren’t crazy, countries are currently denying asylum to Nigerian students who fled Ukraine.
Let anyone try what you’re saying and they’ll see that you aren’t right. Go look at the rate of asylum denials for Nigeria. Peace
By your estimation, anyone that gets a visa, even if his country is adjudged level 3 or 4 , must be denied asylum.

I say again you are wrong.

Ties you have in your country does not write off the general impression of that country as seen by other countries. Infact, some countries will not attend to your asylum claim if you do not get a proper visa to enter legitimately into their countries.

You can get a visa based on ties, asylum requires a proof that your life will be in danger. If you can establish that from your story, asylum must be granted. That is what Geneva convention stipulates.

You cited Nigerian students in Ukraine. You never knew what they presented as their story. How convincing your story is will determine if asylum will be granted. Don't use a broad brush to paint everything.
