osuulola:I respect your review. Top notch! |
Mynd44:Oga, Yorubas dont fight like Romans. That movie is a roman empire classic movie. In the olden days, we read it that the two commanders will face themselves and chant incantations till one commander overwhelms the other. Then fight will ensue. Yorubas will also invoke the spirit of their gods like ogun, IFA etc. before going into a war. In a movie titled Jagunjagun, show me one scene where this is done Only Romans go to war with swords alone without charms. The film misrepresents Yoruba culture so badly. Go and watch the "woman king" on netflix - it was a failed attempt to replicate it. |
jmoore:Don't forget most of these individuals get lot of dollars via Form A which the FG subsidised. So, the loyalty to the country that helped in the time of need has evaporated so soon? |
frog12:The govt needs to rethink the independence of the CBN. Yes the independence was done to rid them from being used by our political clas anyhow but it has birthed a monster. The way they spend money in the CBN is mind boggling. |
UK is a broke nation that is laser focused on exploiting the immigrants to be able to afford increase in salaries back home. Even the Prime Minister disgracefully said this openly. UK is suffering from strength in the value of pounds sterling which makes their export to be expensive; most countries are not willing to import from them. Thus, they don't have strong manufacturing base, hence they are just service oriented. Visa processing is one of the services they use as a cash cow. |
CBN should be put under intense watch. The kind of corruption going on from recruitment (man knows man), to operations is frightening. |
sylve11:Columbia is the dark horse - fluid and deadly |
tolue42:Your response gives me good impression about you. You want to "criticise" someone's experience on a thread. I made my point without referencing your post, but you quoted my post while you were responding. What happens to respecting other people's perspective . You cant force your experience on me. Consider this as my last post to you. |
tolue42:You don't need to say "lie here and there". It was my experience, respect it. Just like I respect yours. It is an open fact that in the olden days Yoruba warriors chanted incantations in wars. Not fighting like Romans with swords. Yorubas wouldn't just go to war without consulting their gods. Yourbas didnt have arena like Spartacus where they fight to death. Go and watch "the woman king" - they tried to copy that movie and it turned bad. Viewers will get carried away with the wacky storyline because of the visual effect. It's not a well thought out my movie. That's my experience. You have yours and I respect it. As for me, Anikulapo remains far Number 1 |
Wacky storyline. Nice visual effect. Yorubas don't fight like Spartacus in war or in a fight challenge, the ending is so predictable and the story line is so tacky - A bad replica of "the woman king" movie. Yorubas don't fight wars without consulting ifa, Ogun and other gods for directions. How many wars did Ogunjimi fight in the movie that made him Jagunjagun? War is taken seriously in Yorubaland and always well thought through and prepared for. The movie never reflects this. The movie presents an invasion under the guise of a war Femi Adebayo, dressing like a roman king, which I found so alien - should not have acted that part - Chatta or Lalude could have been spot on. Wars were fought like Romans army with swords, without any consultation with the gods. Yorubas used charms, and other weapons, to fight in their wars but due consultations would be made to the gods. Yorubas also don't have arenas, like the Romans, where they fight to death. Only Romans do. Local wrestling in Yoruba is for entertainment purposes. All in all, for me: Story Line - 20% Visual Effect - 65% PR (Hyping of the movie) - 100% Please note, it is my experience, which I am entitled to. You are free to rate it as 100%. Anikulapo movie still remains distant number 1 |
Dvdpity:When did Ghana, Togo , Liberia indicate they wont send their soldiers. Not saying you are lyinng but point me to the resource you lied on. Also, how will Mali, Guinea and Burkina Faso support ECOWAS when they have declared to support Niger? Too many contradictions in a single post |
It is a war that has to be fought. ECOWAS is not Nigeria. Each country that makes up ECOWAS will donate soldiers and funding. ECOWAS can not allow the junta allow the free flow of Jihadists via the Sahel into their respective countries. The Junta fluffed every opportunity for reason. |
Ofunaofu:You raised the bolded in your write up and I will like to learn from you. Do you mind mentioning 2 or 3 of these economic measures that Tinubu Administration missed to force down parrallel market exchange rate down to the official rate? |

Jackson619007:Why don't you test the water by committing a murder? |
YouAreNobody:Dont you think it is time to relocate to Iraq and grab that job? |
headboyprince:Sometime, we are the problem and we feel it is the country. Maybe you need to upskill to be more relevant in the scheme of things. Foreigners, some people living in Nigeria who are positive thinker will see the same country differently in a positive light, create solution to problems and start making money while some of you will be grumbling like the nation should come and be giving you handout. The choice is yours. |
headboyprince:I doubt you have left Nigeria before or read so vast. You will not disparage Nigeria in this manner if you have done either. |
Stop being mischievious. There is no credible, reliable data on unemployment rate in Nigeria. Go and check IMF link - it shows "no data" available for some countries, including Nigeria. Source: https://www.imf.org/external/datamapper/LUR@WEO/OEMDC/ADVEC/WEOWORLD Here is another link with different metrics to measure global unemployment. Nigeria is not even among the leading countries. Source: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/unemployment-by-country Why are some people interested in any news that will paint Nigeria black? Nairaland should NOT be pushing this kind of news to the frontpage

Ademola47:Foolish James stamping on a Nigerian-American. |
I will be disapointed if Nigeria does not fight this war. It is a war that has to be fought if we are to have peace in Nigeria. The coupists will sabotage peace in Nigeria by allowing weapons to flow into Nigeria so easily by the Jihadist from the Sahel. For the stability of our country, we will fight this war, and remind the rest of the africans that we are not there for the taking. Nigeria will not need to mobilise lot of soldiers to defeat the Niger army. Ecowas countries will move in their hardware as well. It is a war that we never wish for but which has to be fought. Long live Nigeria military |
Beautiful performance from the Super Falcon. I will accept this outcome with pride. They have represented the badge and the flag so well. |
Icon4s:See the brighter side of life. She has saved a penalty in this tournament |
DelphiOracle:Do not be ridiculous. Those girls are warriors you will NEVER be in a lifetime. |
Both teams will be cautious now. |
Believe! Dream! That moment of magic will come for our girls. |
Nigeria babes in ascendancy with a numerical advantage. The extra time will be fireworks. The girls need to maintain their shapes, tactical discipline and press. Mother luck will shine on them |
James red carded due to frustration. The pendulum is slowly swinging |
I have run out of adjectives for Nigeria girls. History is unfolding in our eyes |
Please wherever you are, applaud these girls and say a little prayer in your heart. No one saw this coming. The Falcons have exceeded expectations! |
It is a ding dong affair. Who wants it more will edge it. Nigeria girls, leaving their heart and soul on the Australian lawn. |
so true true, pigs do fly Green White Green is proudly represented in Australia |
