I'd like to agree with you, but have you ever heard about the term customary law, which just so happens to be part of our legal system here in NIGERIA?

Customary law rules cannot override provisions of the constitution. I am not condoning what the guy did, but the traditional council acted wrongly.

The traditional council is being lawless by seeking to exercise powers it doesn't have. The constitution guarantees freedom of movement and the traditional council cannot prevent anyone from enjoying his constitutional right.

No one has the right to banish a citizen of Nigeria from any part of the country. If the man has committed any offence he should be charged to court, but the traditional council has no legal authority to ban the him from tiv land. They are just bluffing. The man should ignore them.

Lagos is the only state in nigeria that enforces its laws strictly.

With minimum wage of 18k you will have to pray, fast and keep vigil ad infinitum to survive in lasgidi.

Lagos is unique in naija for making laws and ENFORCING them.

I heard about the change of name issue before i got admission to the school, on the certificates of 2015 and 2016 graduands that i know, KWARA STATE UNIVERSITY was boldly written on it. No name has changed, unless you mean spiritually.

You are a student and you don't know much about your school! Go and get a copy of this law and your ignorance about kwasu change of name to Abubakar Sola Saraki University will be cured - Kwara State University (Amendment) Law 2013.

If you are a student there, you will see what will be printed on your certificate. Bros, Kwasu is cool to me too, but the Sarakis mess things up a lot in your state and have decided to appropriate the name of the university.

Tell me what is spectacular about a school located in the bush. As for the change of name, please note that it was effected legally when your state house of assembly amended the law establishing the university in 2013.

Two things baffle me about this state-owned university -i) high fees even though nothing spectacular about the institution, ii) the name - changed to Abubakar Sola Saraki University, but everybody still calls it Kwasu( maybe a quiet protest).

Naija pastor! Naija pastor!! Naija pastor!!! Well done, buddy, for behaving true to type. Every other day naija pastors must come up with something shameful.

Professor is just a title or award. That's why Wole soyinka and chinua Achebe who both have no PhD but became professors.In some institutions in US any lecturer may be called professor.But in Britain things are different - professorship is a chair, and only one person occupies it at a time. I remember a nigerian who graduated in veterinary medicine in Uk in the 1960s and later became a professor in a Nigerian university. He said he felt shy to call himself a professor when he went back to his university years later and met the same man who was his professor still occupying the chair. Osinbajo is a brilliant scholar so i am not surprised that he became a professor so early.
