When I visited 2018, at the airport they refused me taking pictures of there so called pastor. I didn't spend up to 11 days in tourism. Each moment I take a walk around the city, I feel unsafe where those black tacky looking hungry boys are roaming around to steal from a moving truck or disposses tourist off there belongins. If u hesitate they will use bricks or knife or even gun to attack the victim. I ran because its not a country to live comfortably in unless you have a very strong business.

You were even lucky. A friend of mine was robbed by an armed police man in the toilet at Johannesburg airport on his way back to Nigeria after attending a conference in Pretoria. It seems there are gangs at jo'burg airport targeting especially Nigerians. Maybe because our people like to carry cash or just pure hatred or jealousy, an attitude that's common towards Nigerians across Africa. There was a case of a Nigerian who was trailed upon arrival at that airport and killed at the reception of a hotel in jo'burg. Nigeria is way far better than SA in terms of personal safety.

Okay, I am a Canadian. I can't speak for this "shelter" if you even want to call it that. I think for sure this particular situation is very isolated. I've never seen a shelter like this anywhere and in fact haven't heard about this death either. Mississauga is literally 3 hours from me. I am sure there has to be some underlying issue going on here that isn't being told.

Anyone coming under the Asylum laws here do not live in tents. They are given government funded apartments and housing... not in tents. Also, when coming into Canada under this law if there are no government housing available the Government pays for hotel rooms. This is exactly what happened with those who came from Ukraine and now from West Bank/Gaza.
