Car Talk › Re: New Tactics Of Robbers At Okada/ehkiadolor Road by MurderX: 4:09pm On Sep 09, 2013
Yes, true story - I was driving my passat then from Abuja to Lag. At gwagwalada a soldier flagged at me and on assessing him I could tell he was genuine so I picked him up and we continued on the journey. Somewhere long before lokoja someone was waving at me and pointing at my tyre but I had new tires and had thoroughly checked on it before embarking so I ignored him especially since the car was not making a sound or wobbling. I drove about 1km and a guy riding a bike one-way i.e against traffic started flaggng me down and pointing to my tyres again, I became a bit concerned and just talked it over with the soldier but before we could finish on the topic, another guy standing along the road was again pointing frantically to my tyres. At that point I had to pull over, immediately I pulled over, I saw the bike guy riding back to me again and the guy flagging me down was also closing up on me. Then I became suspicious. They walked very close to the car and were trying to tell me what was wrong with my tyres when the soldier guy alighted. Immediately they saw him they both took off, with the guy on the road joining the bike guy and both rode away together. I then wondered how they knew each other and it dawned on me that these guys were criminals.

Please DO NOT Stop indiscreminately on the expressway, locate a safe place to park to check whatever may be wrong with your car. Those guys could be up to anything.
Christianity Etc › Re: Lord Chosen Members Protest Against Mrs Juliet's Confession DVD by MurderX: 8:10pm On Sep 05, 2013
on my way from the airport this afternoon, I saw a very desperate, poor and dejected looking woman, I felt a lot of pity for her and still have her image in my mind but interestingly she had all these chosen clothes around her, what came to my mind was what a level of deception now this evening again I'm hearing all these about this group of people? I think something really needs to be done about christians and churches in this country - they should be regulated or scrapped. People please free yourselves from soul slavery.
Did he seek their approval to move the fleet and armament to Meditteranean ? His gra gra has beenchecked by Russia and China and he is looking for a safe way out. Simple!
The defence chief informed that he is ready to release his missiles once the executive order to strike is given. All is set now what they need now is congress support. The british parliament seems to have changed the game, I think if they hadn't voted a NO by now it would have been a different story.

We should learn to discuss global politics, it also affects us directly.
Foreign Affairs › Obama Seeks Congress Approval To Strike Syria by MurderX(op): 7:02pm On Aug 31, 2013
President Obama put on hold Saturday a plan to attack Syria for its alleged use of chemical weapons, arguing that the United States had a moral responsibility to respond forcefully but would not do so until Congress has a chance to vote on the use of military force.

The announcement puts off a cruise missile strike that had appeared imminent, a prospect that had the region on edge and stoked intense debate in the United States, where many dread getting dragged into a new war.
(...)
Lawmakers are scheduled to return from recess on Sept. 9to begin what is sure to be a contentious debate about the risks of injecting the United States into a conflict in which it has few reliable allies and enemies on both sides of the front lines. The Senate will hold committee hearings on the proposed strike this week, Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) announced Saturday.

nep2ra: You think there are Nigerian parents who would allow their teenage children take their boyfriends/girlfriends into the privacy of their rooms? I'm really intrigued by your liberal perspective.
You asked a question and I'm answering my bit. I can't speak for every Nigerian Parent. Sexual desire is a natural instinct, I didn't create it so I wouldn't attempt to restrict his/her self discovery all I can do is guide their understanding.

I'ld encourage them to have a boy/girlfriend, someone of good character and from a known good home. What goes on in their rooms with their lovers is their business.

Education › Re: Is Mathematics Really Important? by MurderX: 6:23pm On Mar 27, 2013
Truth.

Mathematics is a fundamental tool of research. Although potentially applicable in every discipline, the amount of training in mathematics that students typically receive varies greatly between different disciplines. In those disciplines where most researchers do not master mathematics, the use of mathematics may be held in too much awe. To demonstrate this I conducted an online experiment with 200 participants, all of which had experience of reading research reports and a postgraduate degree (in any subject). Participants were presented with the abstracts from two published papers (one in evolutionary anthropology and one in sociology). Based on these abstracts, participants were asked to judge the quality of the research. Either one or the other of the two abstracts was manipulated through the inclusion of an extra sentence taken from a completely unrelated paper and presenting an equation that made no sense in the context.
The abstract that included the meaningless mathematics tended to be judged of higher quality. However, this "nonsense math effect" was not found among participants with degrees in mathematics, science, technology or medicine.

http://journal.sjdm.org/12/12810/jdm12810.html
@ BABE - this is on point. I'll advise everyone to test the mathematics processing ability of anyone they want to marry. People with good mathematics ability are more logical and make more thoughtful decisions. Date a smart Engineering chick and compare with a smart English or Mass communications chick - the difference is clear.

If you are sure its not you prove it by working with the family to unravel the truth, u should know sometins and people in her life that they may not be aware of.

Let's be more discrete about publicizing cases of abducted/missing persons, it may cause more harm and could distract police investigations. Even if the intention was just for ransom, publicizing it on social media and otherwise could lead to murder of the victim as the kidnappers could become apprehensive.
