Our political parties have not stood out as parties with unique ideals hence, it's difficult to align politicians' values with their parties. The Nigeria we have today requires you to be a member of a political party (no independent candidacy), so we cannot really bite more than we can chew. It's the more reason why intellectuals are called to be actively involved in politics otherwise the majority continues to hold sway. |
Just be very careful buying such phones. In fact, I recommend a DO NOT buy unless it's a registered business/store. Make sure you get your receipt (from the store) cos the day wey SARS trace lost phone to your hand, dem no dey hear story o. The Transport Minister visits the Port Harcourt International Airport ranked as the worst airport in 2015 ![]() Hope they're paying attention to these little messages. |
Contact your Account Officer or go to the Accounts Department first and not NL. Yes, NLers may give you advice but it's improper to ignore established procedures of the Ministry for Internet consultation. Please! |
Omeny:OGUN benefits from its proximity to Lagos (which is the centre of Commerce), the population of Lagos and limited landmass. Industry: economic activity concerned with the processing of raw materials and manufacture of goods in factories. It's commonsense to setup industries in Ogun state (most of which are located around the borders with Lagos; another reason why people mistake some parts for Lagos and another reason why Ogun State went on a tax drive for her citizens who fall into this trap). Typically, localization of industries occurs as more competitors concentrate in a particular area to gain the benefits arising from such. Consequently, transport expenses etc are reduced and there's ease of supply to Lagos; a state that has population as its asset. Later on, companies establish these factories in other geopolitical zones so as to have a wider reach in the country. When it's unprofitable, they close some of these factories or merge two zones into one. There's no need to argue about the industries - Ogun State easily is. Just the way you don't need airports in every state, it's not a must to have some of these factories in some states. Companies will only go to States where the environment is friendly and source of raw materials is cheap. Finally, let's ignore the tribal rants that lack common sense here. WE can now see the essence of State governors making their states conducive enough to attract SERIOUS INVESTORS. When we have good roads and other basic amenities that are the duties of government, people will fear the bad effects corruption can cause to their progress and development. |
nollywoodbabe:Focus on providing quality content on your blog and you won't need all these trickery. First, you wrote "See What President Buhari Said To This Pretty Child" then you want the best comment which attracts a prize. C'mon!! Of what use is a President saying such long sentences to a child who may not comprehend half of it. Bloggers and their concoctions. |

Jarus:I'd go for RF. Though he's the CPC extract (which will also play a part) unlike JI who's been APC for quite some time. JI is vocal but RF is the kind of person who writes the punch lines. He's articulate in his delivery and I feel he may give a more matured response to issues. JI to me will be involved in roforofo fight with Metuh which is what APC doesn't need now. They need to show class in their response to issues which will put them miles apart from PDP. |
Love Machine:You spoilt the analysis with the bolded. 1. Security officers are properly trained to deal with terrorists, hence killing an informant (a captured terrorist) is an unwise thing to do. It hampers investigation(s). 2. When has PMB granted amnesty to any of these members since he took office? 3. We do not have a president of the north. What we have is a President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 4. If amnesty you mentioned above by any chance of not being misconstrued is Amnesty International, then that's one more reason not to 'kill them off' as you suggest. ✌ |
aminho:We burning buckets now too? Terrorists will alter their modes of operation when we keep banning old methods they've adopted. We need to invest heavily in orientation, technology (e.g. bomb detectors) + intelligence (which was what this officer exhibited). Typically, soldiers are 'soft' targets in this kind of 'war'. We must not succumb to the whims of the terrorists in making us afraid of them. Citizens need to he heavily engaged to fish these monsters out. Security agents need to interview surviving suicide bombers (ironical right ) to trace the sponsors. Until the source of the flood is discovered and stopped, water will continue spilling out from different outlets. Nigeria - good people, great nation (Adieu Dora). PS: Just remembered Dora's shock and insistence that Nigerians aren't terrorists after the Muttalab incident. Hmmmm |
Did you notice how ALL the networks avoided 1GB plans or made it prohibitive if available in 2011? Competition is necessary in these markets. It was the same way PSB (Per Second Billing) was a no-no until Glo came in. Ditto DSTV; they presently claim that pay-per-view is impossible simply because they have no solid competition. Let competitors up their game and you'll see instant changes. Etisalat came into the market late but had to make data plans cheaper. For networks, it's either they crashed these prices or they succumbed to the threats of cheats + CDMA/ISp companies who had cheaper modems/WiFi services (all these =lost revenue for telcos). Nigerian telcos ape after each other, so once one of them makes 1GB #100, trust the others to do same. I foresee further crash in prices, then what will be the next offering is who has the best services. e.g. you have some Airtel customers saying they will never buy its data plans even if it is 10GB for #200. This is because of complaints of 'data zapping'. QoS (Quality of Service) still remains key in Nigeria by these telcos. NCC has not really helped much in enjoying our value-for-money. We still have a long way to go. I hope with the power of the social media where no information is hidden and people air experiences publicly, these companies will be forced to play fair. #PeoplePower |
neutrotoba:They won't especially if it's part of their 'code of conduct'. It's the same way you see civil servants and staff of organisations declining to speak or respond to such issues with the excuse of "I was not authorised to speak". In these kind of instances, it's better to channel information and manage the 'crises'. Btw, I noticed people trying to repaint DJ or tarnish his image using past experiences. Truth is, if you're not close to them and don't drink garri with them, leave mata for Mathias. They know all the -ishes that go on amongst themselves, they are also human beings and will have misunderstandings - image laundering or debranding does not alter the true values any of these individuals stand for. Summary, you can only know people as close as to how you get to them and when you know their background or past experiences that have shaped them. |
Tweets by Obasanjo are signed OBJ abi ![]() Anyway, there are some points in what this fake Twitter handle wrote. All I see is akin to youthful exuberance by supposed adults. We live in a generation where values have not only been buried but urinated on. Appears there's less the younger ones can look up to. |
betterABIAstate:Let's assume Punch posted this, is it a newspaper owned by the Nigerian Government Gosh, the way you guys use headlines.Btw, please what day and page did Punch publish this picture? Please provide us with those details ![]() |
mypickupbuddy:While the initiative is laudable, please be very careful. There are so many weird people out there. There are security risks in this initiative especially as an unregistered business. Abeg, no allow anyone set you up o! I'll suggest you exercise due diligence before accepting anyone. Cheers |
agalamanyi:Exactly. From the first paragraph, you can see the 'neutrality' of the report! |
naptu2:Thanks for this. You know, we do have a lot of problems but sometimes Nigerians just rush to condemn. I listen more than I watch and I know quite a few of these journalists who 'sought exile' in foreign countries as a result of the threats from these terrorists. The same BBC has interviewed some of these guys. These foreign journalists have good packages including insurance to cater for such exposure. It doesn't even make sense to unnecessarily expose oneself to security threats. Thank you for highlighting some of the guys who've paid the price in the name of reporting but our people forget them easily because aside failing to read our history, we also fail to write our stories. |
agalamanyi:The thread's title. |
agalamanyi:So that's why PMB budgeted such amount for LM LM that could be fired tomorrow at the wish of PMB? We need to stop the personification of our institutions. |
agalamanyi:Headlines too give you where stories are headed. Lai Muhammed is the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism. Lai Muhammed is NOT the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism. SMH |
I think some of the comments on the original link address the commas in this story. |

One thing OBJ does well (which other politicians and leaders do not) is to DOCUMENT HISTORY. Isn't it amazing that this preview was written December 2014? www.osundefender.org/a-must-read-extract-from-obasanjos-book-my-watch-about-atiku-plant-moles-in-your-opponent-camps-and-the-rest-is-history/ Fashola & Amaechi wrote theirs; Adeniyi wrote his and I expect Abati to do same. People will always write from a biased view but that's why it's their ACCOUNT. You can learn or deduce from there. Tomorrow, people will quote from sources, not "them say, them say". Strategically laying the blocks... |
TechRev:Stop spreading false information. Show us a credible source where this falsehood was said. SMH |
