Per internet, anonymity has brought out the beast in people. So, even useless thoughts that should just be buried in your brain are voiced out via the fingers on the keyboard. Today, I have observed we gossip more online than we discuss - a dangerous dimension. Before you post, ask yourself one question? Would you be proud of your comment if per chance the veil of anonymity is removed from your username Methinks that's a fundamental question and that's where to start from. |
mbulela:There are twistlocks which ties the containers to the vehicle. |
You guys should just CALM down. . . |
Triggered the bullet He shot him is he shot him, shikena! ![]() |
From what I see, he posted this only to his friends; Osas, hope you haven't abused this privilege by posting this here to 'non-friends'! Don't understand why people don't consider privacy rights and public lefts ![]() |
mayor20:I understand. Nevertheless, reporting here will not get the thieves apprehended (by NLers). Except he just wants to vent out his frustrations online and expect sympathy from readers. ![]() |
Until people start getting punished for negligence or breaking the law, be it PHCN/NEPA/DISCO, school authorities, students or medical officials, we would only continue to cry temporarily any time we cut onions! Nigerians don't fear the law, they only fear what the law has done to others. |
There is a police post at this same Computer Village; care to report to them Nairalanders will only comment but not investigate ![]() |
When it appears the costs may outweigh the benefits, we may need to reconsider our approach. The costs of hanging out there on the tree (with dangers of falling or being mistaken for prey by a hunter ) outweighs the benefits of catching defaulters. Let them continue, there's a reason why cheating is called 'expo'; to expose your ineptitude on a larger scale in the future. You can't force it there; it's either you are made of stuff or stuff makes you.I think we should refocus our attention towards the culture of not cheating rather than the detection method. That way, when these students look for jobs in the future, they won't have to look for CCTVs around before checking Google during companies' tests! |
I would have loved to see more stats than the 75% figure bearing in mind the recent case of the collabo between CBN officials and that Bank. Moreover, what is the magnitude of the 75% If the 75% = N1m and the 25% = N10m, then we still have a bigger problem."People want to know they matter and they want to be treated as people. That’s the new talent contract."The emotional imbalance in thinking that you are part of an organization but the organization is not part of you is enough to contribute to this. Contract workers feel this way because what most of them wanted was to be part of the organization but the organization ended up keeping them as 'part' of their staff but not fully-staffed. The terrible situation in this country as forced these people to accept rolling contracts as 'employment'. The CIBN president, Otunba (Mrs) Debola Osibogun, during a courtesy visit to the NDIC, regretted that a large percentage of fraud cases in the banking sector are traced to outsourced bank staff who were neither professionals nor members of the CIBN.Ditto the first quote; these banks are not ready to INVEST in these guys, so why would they want to invest in the bank's controls Accepted, being a member of a professional body may make potential fraudsters to reconsider but the reality is different from the assumed. These criminals live in the harsh realities of everyday Nigeria and may just have different reasons to make 'ends meet. While issuing accreditation certificates to the academies of these banks, we would be deceiving ourselves when we don't tell these banks that engage in casual labour the truth of the contradictions they engage in! |
You are mentioning a company's name to seek attention ba Don't worry, you may get the desired attention from their lawyers. The instructions that come with the drug is enough 'caveat' for them to use as defence and sue you for willfully tarnishing their image without totally establishing the facts and hearing from ALL sides. E be like say the one wey Abike Dabiri-Erewa do PUNCH, the one wey do Linda and the one wey do the blogger vs Fidelity Bank never do to teach you lesson kwa? Kontunu you hear. . . |
One picture, many narratives. I choose to err on the side of caution. |
From recent happenings, it shows the President wants to know what's on ground first before appointing Ministers. More reason we see PSs give briefings etc. Nonetheless, I have observed that after the interview he granted TVC before being sworn in, PMB has talked about these much-anticipated ministers to the foreign press. One, the Washington Post piece and the recent interview he granted at Ghana. One would begin to wonder, are these 'ambassadorial ministers' or 'foreign affairs' ministers' There is a penchant for our leaders to internationalise 'local' matters and then refuse to speak about such matters here; I hope PMB is not going this way too. The September date has created so much anxiety - no matter who gets the job, people will still criticize. The koko is to appoint people who put national interest above selfish interests. |
SirWere:Perhaps they are always called late r ![]() |
Some comments kill! People should not think that just because they are 'anonymously' posting on NL that they will escape the justice of the murder their hands have caused while typing. The first page of this story has some vile comments; just remember, everyone is HUMAN. |
Points 2 and 3 seem to be contradictory. I would not advise against sending unsolicited emails; it's sending it to the appropriate recipient and sending it at the right time that matters. Good thing someone has posted his experience here. Point 2 is a No-No; just do it smartly. |
Nice competitor's ad. Interesting that your advert has Seun as the sample member. Lol |
Can you also include your final month at you PPA? If you went for service this June, write something like: Jun 2015 - May 2016 This helps HR or the prospective employer in planning. |
1. Address: No need for stories. I am not sure anyone is sending you a correspondence to that address. Just shorten it; "7, Johnson Street, Akure, Ondo State". That's all. In fact, some even suggest that your address should be you LinkedIn address but for someone who's careful, I'd suggest you use the recommendation I gave. 2. The objective seems clumsy; I am already lost reading the first few words. Keep it simple. 3. I don't really understand the school part; if I am not mistaken, I know SSCE is different from GCE. So which one Simply use WASSCE or GCE. Or are you combining the results?4. Work Experience is a NO-NO for me. Scattered and disorganized. You can simply put NYSC in bracket after the organization. No need telling us how dear Nigeria is to you. 5. What year did you become a member of the NSE ![]() 6. Ditto skills (if available). If any skill has a certificate, simply merge with 'professional'. 7. The 'references available on request' is also a waste of words. |
Can you start first with removing the name ![]() Except that's a pseudo name. Nonetheless, you can use a XYZ or the sort. This is a public forum, be careful what you let out. |
This generation thrives so much on gossip that still images are now subjects of discussions. Yes, a picture says a thousand words; but those could be more thousands of confusing words. What Could Have Made V.P Osinbajo Scold Gov. Ambode Like This? Ask them! Simple Why would we be 'guessing' what they were talking about SMH |
Anyi3:Yes. In an instance, a O&G had to publish a 'rebuttal' later. |
Anyi3:I wrote from EXPERIENCE. |
NnamdiN:Lol. Is it only me that saw the scrambled posts. Mscheww Mazech don become News authority. |
Anyi3:Well, if you notice, newspapers like Guardian and Punch keep posting the caveat that they bear no responsibility for job adverts. Thus, they have provided the leeway for all sorts. To your question, yes. Scamming has got to that level. It's up to the organization to issue a disclaimer or the sort. |
Dem no even respect the dead a la Nnamdi Azikwe ![]() |
IamforGod:I'm not taking sides. Just stating the facts. What is the name of the account? If you use an account where you put 5k and below frequently and one day, #5m hits it, you'll have to regularise tue account cos it's an unusual transaction. It's just the rules I'm stating, not taking sides. |
IamforGod:This is not enough to make them "a very useless bank. When you say you did the "proper opening with I'd card and all", what exactly do you mean? From my knowledge and the scenario painted, they did no wrong. They wanted you to 'regularize' your account using a regulatory/national card. Even a PVC/International Passport will do |
noxide:I think you should have taken this up with the Branch Head. Perhaps, that CC is just following procedures to avoid wahala; a case of being caged in the box but not thinking outside it ![]() The essence of the biometrics capture is defeated if your registration details are useless. Please take this up; it is YOU MONEY. |
Ok. Confirms what you expect from JEWS NEWS then. |
