guys, which of these two is most preferable, cos i have seen on this forum where someone opened thread on atfs and said it very ok to use substitutes and another person on another thread says it bad for the gearbox and should only serve as a temporary replacement(same thing written in the honda manual) and should be drained off as soon as possible and use only honda atf.
secondly is there a proper way to drain/refill ur transmission fluid.

seems we have suddenly discovered the medieval times in nigeria.

where can one get the honda atf in lagos.honda accord 1999.

guys,
had a problem some days back,on my way home from work my temperature gauge suddenly moved from 89deg to the red zone and wen i parked i noticed that most if not all of the coolant in the radiator had been transferred into the reservoir container. i let the engine cool down and after about 1 hr, the coolant flowed back into the radiator from the reservoir. i suspected that my fan wasn't working(my guess) so i started the car and allowed it run idle for close to 15 mins bt the fans didn't come up, i then bypassed the temp switch and connected the fans to come on wen the ignition is turned on, it worked and i reversed the connection and started the car and allowed it run idle for close to 30 mins but the fans never did come up. is the temp switch bad, can it be worked on or replace or is there another probs with my radiator. honda accord 1999 4cylinder.

i noticed that i have to keep topping the coolant in my reservoir tank and i have checked and cant seem to find anywhere there is leakage on the radiator. dont know wat the probs might be, can anyone give me an idea of wat the probs might be.

Last year fuel subsidy protest is a case study. Their extremism is not isolated. I blame them for the killings. Whoever issued instruction to the failed operation must be called to book. We cannot continue to throw caution to the wind for the minor interest of some persons and allow bloodshed to continue uncheck. We need that much anticipated change NOW.

Guys i need ur help, i had issues with my coolant in my radiator evaporating and the first mechanic i took it 2 said i was the top cover of the radiator(not the cover for the opening) that was the problem ,that i had to change it, my cousin took the car after i had explained wat my mechanic told me and he took it 2 his mechanic (because i had to leave town on work matters) who changed the top cover brought it back the following day , opened the bonnet and saw steam coming out from the reservoir compartment and it continued until the coolant in there completely evaporated.he took it back nd the mechanics are tryin to figure out wat is wrong with a car that just needed to have the top cover of the radiator changed. pls any suggestions as to wat the fault might be.it a honda accord 1999.

thnks, but there wasn't an explosion per se, i noticed for some time that the i had to constantly pour coolant into the reservoir container. sienna once mentioned that i cld have a leakage or the coolant was evaporating , the engine is fine(mechanic said so as well,lucky me), it was wen i checked the radiator this morning that i saw that it was completely dried up.

pls guys, checked my car this morning and noticed that all the coolant in the radiator had vanished(lol) including the reservoir container.the mechanic told me that the cause of the "leakage' was the plastic lining covering the whole length of the top of the radiator. cld he be correct and hw much doe sit cost cause the guy dey tell me N6000. car is a honda accord 1999 model

thnks.its a honda accord 98(american model).with the options u listed am confused, its either the second or the third, though i think the third option is it.will check to see if there is an extra hose.on the manual, u r advised to top coolant in the radiator via the expansion tank not directly into the radiator.

good question siena, i wondered my self, well there was still coolant in the radiator(almost to the recommended level), it down below the recommended level by inches and when i checked the reservoir tank i noticed that it was empty,(the coolant level in the reservoir tank had been below the min point for many months)i also had driven the car for about a month in this manner because i wasnt sure abt the coolant i wanted to use., are u implying that the coolant in the reservoir shld never be used up?

thnks guys, @ siena- i simply needed to fill the reservior tank which was empty that was y i asked if the colant was premixed or not. so fortunately for me, i dont need to buy 18 bottles of coolant

hello guys,i need help .i bought a container of coolant by holt(blue colored pack) but no indication on the container if the coolant had been premixed with water or if i need to mix it with water. i would like to know if anyone on this forum has used this particular coolant and if i can use it without mixing it with water. tnks

1. NNPC recruitment is merit-driven and I will advise anybody with the required qualification to apply. Don't start being apathetic without even giving a try. Some of the reasons many don't get jobs are because they don't believe in themselves and also they believe that they have to know someone before getting jobs.
2. NNPC does not recruit for social responsibility. They recruit based on organizational needs, thus they require people that meet a particular benchmark or standard. No coy aiming to be a world class one recruits just because there are many applicants, even if they don't meet up to expectation. A standard/benchmark is always set.
3. I believe NNPC aims to recruit periodically to capture recent graduates in a 'catch-them-young' concept. If NNPC were to employ everybody or most applicants (irrespective of whether they meet the standard criteria or not), wouldn't it be unfair to recently graduated people after the recruitment? Shell, Chevron, Guinness, PZ, banks etc recruit yearly in form of staff replenishment. Why can't you also demand that they embark on an 'almighty' recruitment in which they employ a large number of applicants and stop recruitment for another long duration?
4. Things must be done right in Nigeria and we must demand merit in all sectors of the economy including govt companies. Recruiting large number of people just because you have a large number of applicants smacks of mediocrity. The large number shows that everybody is given a fair chance to prove his/her mettle. That I think is a positive for NNPC.
NB: 269000+ applied not 140000+. And I believe the numbers will be more this year.

love u post, it does not cost u anything to apply and hope for the best, my colleague in my office did same last time and he went all the way(he knew no one) and recently joined nnpc as a supervisor. so just apply. if nnpc feels the need to hire whenever they have to , then let them, at least the are giving pple a fair chance of getting in, try chevron, shell and mobil u will see the difference

First alarm bell - She told the poster straight up that she like the posters personality but not his job. He is a teacher for goodness sakes not a smuggler or armed robber. Seems that his job was more important to her than his personality

Second alram bell - She didn't make an effort to see the poster more often. If you are into someone, you dont see them only once a month which shows that he is not that important to her.

Third alarm bell - When she did see him, rather than hype him up and make him feel special, she made him feel inadequate by openly speaking to her toasters and her better earning colleagues and friends. Now there is nothing wrong with having toasters, cos you cant avoid that, however if you respect the person you are with, you include them/keep them in the loop of what is happening, you both laugh over it or you dont even pick their calls in front of him etc

Fourth Alarm bell - She doesn't have time to see him, and the only means of communication is a blackberry. Surely if she has N350k to spend on emergency wedding, surely she can give/lend her boyfriend N15k to buy a cheap BB so that they can keep in touch.

Fifth alarm bell - She had a brother that could help, but never offered from the onset and now he can only help if they get married?

Sixth alarm bell - she suddenly has time, now that she has lost her job and wants to get married? BTW what happened to all the other suitors?

Bottom line is that the poster is NOT her first choice of a husband and had her circumstances not changed, she would still be the once a month visit one leg in one leg out girlfriend.

Oh and by the way, she has 350K to spend on wedding, but she didn't/couldn't/suggest lending the dude any of that even if its 10K to start something on the side to supplement his teaching wages.
