If Nigerians find out the level of fraud taking place in the National Assembly, then we'd set that place on fire. Bogus constituency allowance, inflated reimbursements from the Federal Government for oversight functions, kickbacks from ministries and agencies of government; budget padding, inexplicible constituency allowance for projects never carried out, unnecessary foreign trips funded by tax payers, ridiculous holiday allowances, quarterly payments for only gawd knows what for...infact, if Nigeria is not a rich country, these guys would have collapsed this country.

Now on my way to Abuja, I pass through Kogi State. That state has potentials but they are living in a state of perpetual squalor. I have not been to all the states in Nigeria but anytime I pass Kogi State, I fight back tears. Even the cementary makes one feel for the departed ones.

If not anything, they can start thinking of exporting the rocks they are so richly endowed with to other states not so endowed or even countries for construction projects. Let us not even speak of the Limestone which is required for cement. That state is blessed, but with people like Dino Melaye and Yahaya Bello, Kogi is stunted.

Dino, being rich in the midst of the poor means you are poor. Wealth is a function of how many people you have uplifted, not how many Brabuses or customized Gwagons you have. In 6 years time, these cars would become obsolete, but the people you have uplifted would uplift others and that is how you build a legacy.

If an American marries you understanding it's simply a business arrangement, this American will face jail and $250,000 fine, as well as losing all his/her assets, house, car, job, pension and getting out of jail, he/she never finds a job, because it's a big crime to cheat on American government. That's why this business arrangement maybe accepted by a low level trash people, drug addicts who don't care and want your money for marriage, yet they will ask you for more money and more and cheat you in getting a Green Card.



And about a foreigner, Nigerian in this case, marrying as the way to get the Green Card, not for real, he is sent to jail too, $250,000 fined too and deported banned for life from ever come back to US. It's is the LAW. And in America the Law is observed well.

A friend told me they gave him permanent resident a.k.a green card but when I saw his international passport it wasn't there so he told me that US embassy don't put such package inside international passport like the way B1B2 are done, that they only send his international passport to USA for clearance to homeland security and FBI for further investigation to know if he has been convicted before in any crime or terrorism and later they returned it to Baltimore before sending it back to us embassy in Nigeria for collection and he can't be able to see the social security number on it except if they scan it on the system, that is what the man who helped him said. So he said he can only travel from Nigeria to US with the permanent residents package aka green card package which will be given to him by us consulate on the day he will be traveling once his through with the airline because the man who helped him said The consulate doesn't have any right to open it and he my friend can't open it as well, that immigration can only open it at the port of entry in USA because the package is not just the card but it contain all his documents which the man who helped him file for him and they can't give it to him until the day of his departure because that's what they will use to access his information on the system before he will be captured and finger printed at the port of entry over there. And this my friend is being help by a man aged 55/60 he met at the international airport and the man came back from USA and he said his a citizen over there and they both met at British airways office inside airport while he my friend came with his friend to verify something from them. So he asked me to bring my passport so that the man will help me as well and he also introduced me to the man which I met him in person. But I want to confirm if truly the story he told me about the permanent residents aka green card is the process on how it's been issued including the international passport clearance stuff before giving him my own? Please I need your guidelines and vital information on this. Anyone can also be of help thank you God bless you all.

OP is wrong on the path of citizenship by marriage and the advise for a woman to forget a man who plans to immigrate to the US without a GC.

If a man and woman have the mutual understanding, and have reached an agreement to "wait", then the man can travel to the US on a B, J, F or H visa; get married to a USC and still have his GC under Twelve Months. To succeed with this plan, the original couples/parties must be committed to its success and the key to sustaining the arrangement is mutual understanding, cooperation and adjustment.

Adjustment of status through marriage whether "orijo or dagbo" is not rocket science once you're married to the right person (petionioner) with a decent standard of living and a general understanding of the entire process and the will to help. The onus is on the petitioner and applicant to prove that their marriage is bona fide.

Once married, you're called an immediate relative of a USC and you can file your application for AOS immediately.

After submission, it takes the USCIS about 90 days or more to issue the EAD and SSN which authorizes the non USC to work in the US, and also make emergency travels for a specific period of time pending when they're invited for their GC nterview which generally takes from six Months to twelve Months from the date the application is submitted.

If everything goes well at the AOS interview, the USCIS officer will approve the I485 application, and the GC will be mailed to the address on file. If an application is placed on review at the end of an interview because the USCIS officer isn't satisfied with the answers provided by the petitioner and applicant, the officer will place the application on review. The review takes from one weeks to six months after which GC is issued.

Some applicants are not so lucky because they are unable to prove to the USCIS officer that their marriage to thier USC spouse is "bona fide". They will either be reschedule for a second interview (stoke interview), or get denied which can be handled by an immigration attorney without stress, but long delays and legal fees. So women, your your husband or boyfriend can still travel and return back to you in One year Six months if you can wait and take the risk. The decision is yours. I'll stop here.
