mitchyy:Ours was Lagos to Uyo their 0900hrs flight. In all my time of flying that was the worst have seen. I guess the weather was generally bad. May God protect us. |
mitchyy:Was in Dana flight on Thursday of the same week you are talking about. The turbulence was something else. An old woman who is hypertensive almost had a heart attack. I wonder why her children should allow her to travel alone. Thank God for my cousin who is a paramedic that sat beside her and was able to manage her situation during the turbulence. It could have been story for another day. |

I rarely contribute but when it has to do with abuse I can't just ignore. Please kitme, please tell your friend to put the marriage on hold while issues like this is sorted out. Any man with anger issues is a recipe for marriage disaster. I have seen it happen to a close family member. Hers isn't only physical abuse, verbal and emotional abuse is involved. He is proud and arrogant and doesn't listen to anyone. So please if he looks and behaves anyway like the man I have mentioned above. She should run for her life. Don't follow the old wives tales that he will change after marriage or kids will change him. They never change unless God changes them. I will advise she put it on hold or rather she calls of. Don't follow the saying that all men are the same. All men aren't the same. Some are loving and respect their wives. While some are just proud and egoistic that believes the only word in bible is submission. So they sing it like Psalm 91. A word is enough for the wise. |
Curve 7 was the worst phone I used. Didn't even enjoy it for months I had to give it out. Curve was even better than curve 7. I later bought Curve 4 cos I like the pics but battery problem. HTC One I guess the M7 series. The purple picture quality was a turned off. After 8 months had to sell it at a give away price. LESSON. Always read reviews cos by reading reviews have been saved from BB storm, and some other phones. |
And this made front page. Kai nairaland don suffer. |
deeptesting:Thank you sir. I told her the same thing. |
babyosisi:That is what I am seeing from the whole thing. Changing name is the least of her problem but how to cope with feeding n provision for the child. That is what I kept telling her that she should have sorted herself before marrying the man. EfemenaXY:Efe I think her case is born out of she saw a comfortable man and hung herself on him. I wouldn't even know what she used that five years to do cos like I said she married young. And I am not sure she planned for this. |
AdimGreat:They were not living together since the inception of the marriage. She said they courted for 5 years. The marriage is two years. She has reported to the family and they have tried to broker peace but he isn't coming forth. So they are even tired of the man. Am not sure she has a certificate cos when I asked her what her qualifications she mention one school I haven't heard before. Moreover she is quite young, she is in early 20s. |
Cutehector:She says she doesn't need one as she can keep her home alone. Since she isn't working. Yadoctora:You are very right my brother. That is what I told her, that she made a mistake by agreeing to marry someone without having any means of survival. These days marriages are difficult if the woman isn't making extra money. babyosisi:Isn't a case of baby mama. They were legally married. In court and did their traditional. breadplanets:She says you will hardly meet him at home. Though I have told her to go in the wee hours of the day. edwife:My dear I have asked repeatedly if there was anything else. She says no. enoqueen:The hubby says she needs help. I don't know why he is punishing her cos of this issue. |
Hello my good people. My friend's husband has gone AWOL since over six months now. He has refused to send money for upkeep of his child nor renew the rent. The child is one by this month. All effort to make him to pay for the upkeep has proved abortive. My friend doesn't work, she is learning a skill and this doesn't bring money for now. She has asked the man repeatedly what is the problem and he says nothing that she is only stubborn. The only stubborn thing is that she has refused him to allow a househelp to live with her. Note they weren't staying in the same area but the same state. His reasons is that he lives with his work accommodation and he can't bring his family there. What can she do to get the man to renew the rent and send money for their child. She doesn't have money to get the services of a lawyer as the first one she called is asking for another money after he sent a letter to the husband. Now the man isn't picking her calls again nor replying text. |
Treat your marital partner as you would want to be treated. Well said. I hope the men will take this philosophy into consideration. |
I know I can be lazy commenting on posts but I was moved by all the comments about this young woman. First, I personally don't see anything wrong with used cloths or used baby cot. We all know that it isn't everyone that can afford to buy UK or US products with original price. Some can't even afford to buy even during sales. In Nigeria, a lot of mothers go to buy used cloths for their children, some buy first grade or second grade as it is called. Those first grade might still come with their price tag on it. Every used cloths doesn't mean it has been worn before, it may simply mean it is an old stock in the warehouse and they need to dispose of it. So please spare the poster and contribute to the unborn baby if you so desire. I wish you a safe delivery and I hope we all will be invited for the naming ceremony. You may not know, I may be your neighbor next door. God bless all the hands that has contributed to this baby's life. |
Why should he always talk like that is he God? That he will continually want u to thank him. He got some self esteem issues n u need to give him a break n since he hasn't called it shows he is happy wherever he is. I just can't stand men that are proud n arrogant. Gosh, I feel like throwing up. |
Talk of a drowning man, what does he want? |
I have followed this post with keen interest, I pray that God will replenish all the pockets that contributed to this young man's life. Happy new year to everyone and I am proud to be a nairalander. |
Supportive n Iron lady but it paid off cos u raised a firm n principle lady. |
When one is emotionally and financially ready. |
It is a plus to democracy |
They are busy training the women they want to get married to in the universities. Come to think of it they have not finished the building in their village and also buy the latest car. Don't forget they still have plans of traveling to Malaysia, Italy, Holland (Switzerland), Spain, etc. My mother used to tiss me then that if I wait for Ibo man for marriage, I should get ready to wait until he is forty. |
Get a job and you will be free from their grip, they aint going to tell you when to close it is only your employer that has the right to tell you that. In that case you can hang out with friends and come back late. You can always tell them that you worked less. |
Gbam I go turn a Monk |
Congrats. |
@OP if you had cut off the advertisement nairaland would have known how to help you but my dear now they will just think you are looking for cheap popularity. If you love her make your family see reason with you, if not leave her and look for the woman of your caliber. |
It is quite painful but you need to move on, he sounds quite insecure and the worst mistake you could do in your life is to force an insecure man to spend his life with you. He is still a young man and you even younger, looking at the age difference he feels you are not mature enough to handle pressures of life. His excuse of men giving you attention will always come to the surface because he feels this is your time n it takes trust to overcome that in which he does not trust. Some men prefers older n mature women, because they feel they are more emotionally mature n would have lived life. So my dear girl the faster you work the better you are. I trust you in 5yrs to come you would be happy you took that decision. |
today's log 25/08/10 BF Indomie n sardine sauce with a cup of tea Lunch: Onion cracker biscuit with fruit juice Dinner: Unripe plantain with fish peppersoup. Water: 1.5L Exercise: Nil |
Thanks Ejadamen, I actually thought that oats is more fattening than cornflakes but now I know better. I will try to introduce skimmed milk instead of my regular powdered peak milk. I will continue with the jogging so as to build my endurance. Today's log Breakfast: 1 pack of indomie n sardine source. Lunch: Wheat n vegetable soup with gizzard So far I have gulped 1L of water. |
I tried jogging in one position last night but couldn't do it for 5 minutes because it was like I was gonna faint. Since my injury on my left angle, I have not tried jogging until yesterday. It was not easy as I was gasping for breath. What can I do? I take cornflakes instead of Quaker oat when I don't want to eat breakfast or dinner. Is this healthy? |
I am happy to be back in this forum after sometime. I still continue on my weight tactics though I just introduced exercise for now though light ones. For now I am not taking any of the following red meat, chicken, fried eggs, boiled eggs, garri, custard, quaker oat, milo or bournvita. I am still battling with indomie but I have drastically reduce the intake. I take gizzard instead of chicken, I take sardine source instead of fried eggs, I take fish (oven grilled) instead of meat. I hope am not missing out on so many things. I really want to reduce to 60kg from my present 70kg but the more I try the more difficult it becomes. I am still taking cornflakes and milk. Today's log Breakfast nil Lunch semovita n egusi soup with smoked fish and 1 apple |
Maybe I should start scrolling my fiance's phone. |
In my place there is soup (aditan) that is very bitter if not well cooked. I hate the soup with passion. Apart from that I am all weather when it comes to food. |
I never knew until my father taught me how to serve. He says the soup must be in the left hand side while eba in the right hand side. I have grown up to feel it is the most comfortable way. Let me analyze the situation. If you place the soup in your right, you would have to cross over the soup to cut your eba if you are right handed. Since eba is usually the first thing you pick when you want to eat, I presume it should be placed at your right and soup left. These rule applies to right handed people only and vice versa. |
cant she go to wherever he is living or even his office in the same state! Na wa. Some stories sef.
