If Soludo had supported Peter Obi, Frank Edoho would argue that he is supporting Obi because of Obi's competence. Competence when defined in democratic parlance is largely subjective and the Ex-CBN Boss classifies the Labour Party candidate as incompetent. Frank Edoho, who falls within the "exposed and educated" spectrum is advocating that Peter Obi deserves Soludo's support because he is Igbo. That is the reality of the "Saint" Peter Obi project. Let's face it. The last time an Igbo person led Nigeria, more than half of Nigeria's population were not born. Igbos are humans too. They have feelings. They also want to produce a Nigerian leader even though the bulk of them go about screaming that an Igbo President won't make them richer or poorer .It is the thought of decades of political subjugation that fuels the fire burning in the heart of most Igbo people to fight for the control of Aso Rock. Predominant in 5 of 37 States, the most crucial concern for political analysts and statisticians is how this populous ethnic group can install a leader they've chosen without the support of others in an ethnically diversed democracy as ours. Whether they mock the "Emi lo kan" remark or not, registered in the heart of every Igbo child and adult is the conviction that it is their turn. |
Go to court, emotional extremists. I posted this yesterday. The only way you can say a voter is underage is if the date of birth of the voter on INEC'S portal is 2005 or above. You can't claim that people whose date of birth are in the 90s on INEC'S portal are underage. https://www.nairaland.com/7432745/know-prosecuted-spreading-fake-news#118381749 |
Bring evidence that INEC registered underage voters by showing the date of birth of the voters in your electronic evidence. |
Some people are waking up. They are realizing that their candidate cannot win in 2023. Their easy way out is to make their fellow party members to see their obvious woeful loss as a victory that INEC stole from them. One of the rumours they are starting to spread is that of underage voters registration in the North. I have friends working at the Tech unit of INEC and during our past discussions, they have always assured me that INEC'S algorithm does not allow for registration of people under-18. I have also checked pictures that are used to spread the rumour but I haven't seen any of those images they call "Proof" with a date-of-birth above 2004. Put differently, you can only say INEC are registering underaged voters if the registered date-of-birth of the voters are 2005, 2006, 2007 - 2022. I challenge any of the fake news influencers to show any voter in INEC'S register with a Date of birth above 2004. Under the laws of this country, the DSS are mandated to preserve public peace. Spreading false allegations of electoral malpractices by the independent umpire even before elections started is classified as an act against public peace. If the DSS arrests suspects responsible for the spread of the fake news and throw them into dungeons, their supporters will become victims once again on social media calling the democratic government undemocratic. Be warned!

First picture is a mob action against a motorcycle thief years ago. Below is the link to the second picture. https://crossriverwatch.com/2019/03/crossriverdecides-apc-pdp-supporters-clash-in-ugep-apc-supporter-beaten-pdp-pays-for-vote-pictures/amp/ Pictures came from an incidence that happened in Cross River State almost half a decade ago. I realised a long time ago how weak LP's movement is and its only strategy of hoping to influence public opinion with propaganda, hype and fake news.

swaggerjack:Exactly. The bullion van story confirms his consideration for employees. He could have sent employees with an S.U.V to withdraw money he would use for the big weekend but he didn't want to risk their Lives. He instead ordered that the bank delivers Jos withdrawals securely with a bulletproof van so that those who make the delivery will be safe. As a businessman and successful professional, you can withdraw your money from the bank when you want it. Dangote once withdrew 10 million USD to feel what it looked like. He returned it thereafter. Tinubu has the right to withdraw his money for philanthropy. |
Tinubu's resolved case in the United States is similar to the condition of a luxury car dealer whose bank accounts are flagged for receiving credits/ transfers departing from the bank accounts of a fraudster as payment for car sales. If every professional conducted a background check before offering their services or selling their products, Yahoo boys would have no cars or phones. They won't even book hotels, flights or pay House Rent. EFCC block these accounts everyday and the innocent business person/ professional who received such funds while performing their legal duty negotiate the unblocking of their bank accounts. The contention has never been that a reputable accountant or car dealer is a drug dealer or fraudster since they have proven their impeccable characters. The issue for determination is how a particular transaction ended up in the bank account of "Compass Finance and Investment company", a bank account operated by an American certified chartered accountant whose profession permits him to receive funds from clients for investment. The case was against investment accounts not our future President. The bank account cannot hire lawyers to defend it to satisfy the legal principle of "Audi alteram partem"- hear both sides, so the owner of the account who has a human and legal personality has to be joined as codefendant to satisfy the requirements of fair justice. The simplest explanation of the "forfeiture" goes like this: America, una know say I be certified accountant wey don work for una reputable corporations. I bin start my own finance and investment company o. People just dey invest for am. Me sef no know say drug dealers don follow put their drug money for investment. I know say no be my duty to investigate the profession of my clients as I no be FBI and I no like wahala. I no get money to go court to dey fight una government for my right wey fit take years. The money wey I go pay American lawyers sef fit big pass wetin una wan take. Make una just take wetin una think say my bad clients don deposit so that una go unfreeze my account make I hustle for my daily bread. It is a civil arrangement not a criminal one.

ganisucks:I haven't listened to Keyamo. I'm a professional. It is what I do. It is how I earn a living. |
ganisucks:The stamp shows that it is a certified true copy of the court proceedings. Court documents are public documents. To receive them, you make an application and a certified true copy will be given to you. The date shows that it was certified a true copy in August. From my experience, a lawyer was hired by the opposition to request for the court documents which everybody has right to access. It's not rocket science. It's not hard. Lawyers do that every day in Nigeria and across the world. Court documents are for Public consumption. Some important judgments of courts are even compiled and sold to us as law reports. |
ganisucks:Court documents are public documents. In fact, apart from juvenile cases or cases that bother on public peace, any court trial done in private is contradictory to the rule of law and universal tenets of justice which makes it mandatory for trials to be conducted publicly. These documents always come up every time he makes a big political move for years now. |

ganisucks:Tinubu is not the defendant. The action is brought against his account. The universal principle of law that is upheld by competent courts is "Audi alteram partem"- here both sides. If there court hears the counsel for the plantiff, it has to hear the counsel for the defendant. A bank account cannot hire a lawyer to represent it, so it is good practice to join the owner of the account as a co-defendant. |
ganisucks:He would. The law is against those who are convicted. Not even a double impeachment can stop you from becoming an American President. Not even William Clinton who perjured was stopped from being President. Allegations are for the media, convictions are for the constitution. |
AcuraZDX:The et al means "and others". Tinubu is there because the practice is to put natural persons/owners of the account as co-defendants. It's just formality. |
Tinubu may just win Bauchi! |
AcuraZDX:It is similar to a Garnishee proceeding in Nigeria where an action can be brought to take judgment debt from the bank accounts of a non-compliant Judgement debtor. You can look "Garnishee proceedings " up. |
ganisucks:There's a difference between "stepping down" and not "being eligible". The former is inspired by ethics, conscience and morality while the latter is the function of the law. As long as Tinubu is not convicted of any crime, he is eligible to contest in Nigeria or any country of the world if he is a citizen. About stepping down, in my 2 decades of living in this world, I have read of more than a dozen British MPs who retired from politics because of allegations less weightier than running offshore accounts. Why is Obeer still in the race? |
Allen Onyeama of Air Peace, who received a national honour recently, was in a similar situation until he was cleared. Although his legal troubles in the US was not drug related. Onyeama's case was money laundering. If Onyeama participates in politics tomorrow, is he going to be disqualified because his name appeared in a charge sheet? An unbiased person knows that the conflict of laws in different jurisdictions can make the innocent actions of good men unlawful. Even in the United States of America, Tinubu would be eligible to contest election because he has never been convicted. Deep inside everyone's heart, they know that only conviction makes you guilty of an offence. There are letters from the United States Department of Justice and the US Embassy in Nigeria absolving Jagaban of the heinous allegations. The opposition keeps reiterating the 3 decades long propaganda to make it look like Tinubu is a Hushpuppy or an El Chapo. |
Fake news. Except the prices include return tickets. All November tickets are below 80,000 naira. It is normal for December tickets to be expensive anywhere in the world because people who plan to travel book their tickets months before their travel date. By 1st of December there are usually only few seats left for the highest bidder. |
Below is a link from two months ago when I stated the number of polling units in Nigeria and the fact that APC and PDP have agents in all of them. https://www.nairaland.com/7348566/political-party-structure-nigeria-myth I also stated that if only the agents of the big parties and their nuclear families were to vote, both parties would be sure of more than a million votes even if Presidential elections were conducted impromptu overnight. Labour party does not have enough agents to cover up to 20% of polling units in Nigeria. It's a fact ! They do not have agents to cover up to 1% polling units in the North. They do not have agents to cover up to 5% polling units in the South West. They do not have agents in most polling units in the South South where people may volunteer. |
The southern "minorities" were the real victims of the war. Federal forces were killing our males for siding with Biafra, Igbos were killing our men for being "saboteurs." The federal forces had enough soldiers on their side but our kids were forcefully conscripted into the Biafran army and sent to fight professionals with sticks. Ojukwu was feeding on milk and honey. Ojukwu was already allocating my community's petroleum deposits to the his foreign allies. The genocide you lots whine about was witnessed in my grand mother's town. More than half of the children in her community died because they had no salt for more than a year. She told me about how they would swell and die. In one of the notorious raids, my father was hidden in a River like the biblical Moses. My grandfather would try to make a substitute for salt with his scientific knowledge using local organic materials around to save the few children he could until the Red Cross sent relief materials. We depended on sea food to survive. But a trip to the rivers in our neighborhood was ,80:20- Death-Life. The description of the conflict is sickening- military jets hovering around the blue sky and blood thirsty soldiers ready to paint the ground red from above . It was worse because we never consented to the secession and were forced to fight a war that was orchestrated to control our natural resources by either belligerents who would win. I curse the Skeletons of Ojukwu the coward and the day he was born. |
The quality I seek in people before working with them is their ability to strategize. Peter Obi has no concrete plan. He does not have a working strategy to inspire any change in Nigeria. He just hopes that he'll be able to figure everything out if he becomes President. He genuinely believes governance is an art you can become skilled at overnight. The day campaign activities were declared open by INEC, he started his at Benue State without a campaign plan. When he noticed that the bigger parties were focused on inaugurating campaign councils, he stopped his poorly organised campaign stream. His supporters would argue in the subsequent weeks that all Nigerians were members of his campaign council. Taking a clue from political savvy guys in his party, he would later compile a campaign council for the first time only to discover that there are states in this country where indigenous residents do not supports Labour Party. As the lover boy of the leftist media, no Nigerian can deny his romance with Anti-APC TV stations like Arise TV. On several occasions he had told TV presenters that a manifesto is irrelevant. The bigger parties presented manifestos with details of their plans regarding each sector of the economy. His supporters would go on an internet trolling spree, mocking every other opinion and reiterating that manifestos were archaic until Peter Obi changed his mind and promised to release a manifesto. There are many of such examples of him failing because he failed to plan. Peter Obi is just a former governor who quotes figures about a place or a theme in an event he is to speak. He prepares well for those speeches ,although he fumbles most times, but isn't prepared for governance. Everything he tells his supporters is what we know and are spread all over the internet. He never tells us about the solutions majority do not know. Ask him about solutions and he'll reply that he'd rather not say. |
D'banj lost his first child under similar circumstances in June 2018. A week before the tragic incidence, D'banj posted a video where he walked with the boy past the pool and the boy was staring at the pool with curiosity. A fan on Instagram told him to cover the pool immediately because the way the boy looked at the pool showed he was willing to jump into it when he had an opportunity. The fan's comment went unnoticed until the uneventful happened. You can never perfectly watch over toddlers if you're human. I remember swallowing a screw as a 5-year old under the custody of my mother. Luckily, I vomited it on our way to the hospital. When that baby sees the pool and notices that anytime he wants to go swim you stop him, the baby in his little mind strategizes and plans all day to find the best time to run inside the swimming pool without resistance. The toddler most likely knows he can sneak out to be in the forbidden pool but doesn't know that water has enemies. There's what is called Childproof designs. Even if you have the best nannies around, the best practice is to build Childproof facilities when raising infants. Just like bulletproof vehicles come to the rescue when human security personnel fail, Childproof infrastructure prevent fatality when human nannies fail. This should be the straw that breaks the camel's back . Facilities that pose no risk to children should rank higher than luxurious facilities in the scale of preference of parents with little children. My thoughts and prayers are with the parents of the deceased. |
FreedomfromtheT:Isn't it a Fulani guy that deputized Atiku? A Fulani Yaradua took over. Then a Fulani Buhari took over. The Igbos can never vote a Fulani/ Hausa or Yoruba except they have no other choice like it was with Obasanjo and Yaradua and even Atiku in 2019. The truth is that Yorubas have been able to build an alliance with the north that has lasted for more than 30 years since Abiola. |
Party that wants to win election in Nigeria ![]() On the morning of election, when you don't have to gather at the toll gate by 8am in the morning from your enclaves in the city. On that morning when women whose last pieces wrappers were given to them by their APC ward chairmen will line up behind the township guy who did not buy bread for their children when he returned but is speaking big English ![]() On that morning where party agents will bring a large Ghana must go to thank the polling unit for their support. On that morning where you notice that you are the only labour party supporter on the line and the crowd that walk in the cities with you have returned to their own polling units. On that very morning , reality will hit you. You'll be so ashamed to realize after a long walk that you laboured in vain. When the results start coming that afternoon, social media will be quiet. People will pick up their jobs and get more serious with making money. Others will pick their flags with a setting sun inscribed upon as their last antidote to shame. |
Asgard73:I like you even though I support Tinubu. You get it. If it was Tinubu vs Wike or Peter Obi, Tinubu would win with up to 12 million votes. Tinubu would have won the South West and the entire north without campaigning. The bitter pill your people cannot swallow is that Northerners can never vote for their candidate as long as Nigeria exists. The only way an Igbo man can become president is by an agreement where both PDP and APC field Igbo candidates. Tinubu vs Atiku would have been a tough fight with the entire South East and South South supporting Atiku because of envy for Yorubas. What Peter Obi is doing is making whatever Atiku would have in the South East and some parts of South South irrelevant in the scheme of things. I know this fact disturbs you even you deny. I still have faith that Tinubu will win. APC members genuinely want power to return to the South. Tinubu, Amaechi and Osinbajo came 1,2 and 3 respectively. Tinubu won the Primaries with more than 60% of votes cast. Better than how Atiku won his own primaries with less than 50% of votes cast. The Shettima and North East bloc votes, the endorsement of the northern beloved Buhari, Tinubu's perceived generosity to Northern Nigeria, justice and equity are all advantages you must not overlook even as a biased party man. |

May not be 30 years but definitely not less than 16 years. Flooding in Nigeria is a combination of natural factors like climate change and human factors like creation of dams, deforestation, poor town planning etc. For instance, Last year on this same Nairaland, people were cursing Nigeria for supplying electricity to neighbouring African countries while Nigerians had no light. I explained here that if every country River Niger flows through was allowed to create a dam, Nigeria will experience extreme flooding annually. This was the initiative of a past government that many "intelligent" Nigerians think their policies were "stupid". The treaty that allowed Nigeria rather operate a dam and transmit power to some nearby countries instead of them all building their own dams is why the flooding is not worse than what we have today and occurs less frequently. That's just one example. Explain it to the average Nigerian on the street and he'll call you pro government and partisan I reserve my comments about the bulk of Nigerians who are the first to call people urchins. The head of a government department reads out a report prepared by some of the best experts in the field and polytechnic graduates without an iota of experience in the field log in Nairaland to type shit. There are many bilateral/multilateral agreements, long term infrastructural planning, billion dollar projects, partnerships with foreign governments and corporations and the cooperation of state governments that will be required to prevent the disaster or reduce it drastically. It's not an eight years job. |
