zoedew:Maybe he’s INEC ![]() |
EastGold:+1 for Jegede ![]() |
garfield1:Sympathy vote. But here, the sympathy will go to Jegede who seems more favoured against all odds. |
garfield1:Kogi no be Ondo. Ondo have more elites. Kogi have more Bellos ![]() #nopunintended |
garfield1:Not a governor who couldn’t keep his deputy and also loosing fast the party structure. Check the debates. It was a case of “me” against “them.” One could clearly see that AKETI is easily angered. |
garfield1:I was looking for unlike button ![]() You’re doing well! But truth be told, eyitayo looks more like it.
|
garfield1:People are wiser now. Loyalty, Trust, Betrayal will ruin his chances. That’s exactly what killed Edo APC |
garfield1:He had only 3 days to campaign bro. |
fergie001:And more importantly he’s the deputy governor of the APC led state and he’s at war against his principal. |
fergie001:Who wouldn’t? That’s half of your votes gone if you don’t understand. PDP lost Ogun state to APC because Daniel created PPN yo divide their votes. |
Seerade029:Oh... well done! |
Seerade029:Oga, just give your updates. It is the responsibility of INEC to make adequate provision for that and also ensure compliance. |
michlins:Try find out how much they pay a truck per trip to Atlantic City, Lagos. Fourth Mainland Bridge is coming shortly. You better go invest in trucks. One of my uncles made his fortune from the construction Third Mainland Bridge. He had 30 Bedfords in the 80s. |
Why would someone like Dangote even invest in trucking business? ![]() https://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/378926-dangote-buys-3500-locally-manufactured-trucks-worth-n63-billion-from-anammco.html https://nairametrics.com/2020/01/10/dangote-concludes-plan-to-secure-10000-trucks-from-indonesia/ I guess the number one producer of cement in Africa wasn’t smart enough to invest more in building houses all over Nigeria. “Every man to himself.” |
michlins:Smiles. I still know a company that pays up to 80k and even more per trip on deliveries within Lagos. (better Trucks o) I know a guy who takes up to N80m yearly on sand delivery at Berger. Handling your driver doesn’t make the business unprofitable. You allowed him and his excesses. _______ Few months ago, a Nairalander was practically begging me to help her get a truck to deliver some loads of sand to her project. We couldn’t find one! They’ll make as much as 400k on the 3 days job but we couldn’t get any truck to take up the business. |
Rockyheight:How? I didn’t drive myself. I didn’t chase my drivers around and I’m able to recoup my money in 8 months. Don’t tell me you’ll invest N10m in a truck without comprehensive insurance? When you think of the resale value of trucks self, you’ll marvel. Trucks ain’t like cars o. ______ I know quite a number of people who have only Bedford Tipper and you’ll be surprised at the number of houses they have. There’s no business without risk. You just need to understand the dynamics and put proper systems in place to manage associated risks. |
n3xt:More secondary contemporary stairs. I think I did one on NL few years ago. I won’t be able to share though. How do you access rooftop in modern builds?
|
n3xt:Here’s a secondary stair with secured access leading into a mancave. There’ll always be stuffs you just want to keep private.
|
Aforxzy:Whether modern or conventional, a staircase serve two major purpose - a way to transition between different levels in a residential property or a way to add wow factor to a build. So all builds (modern, vernacular or contemporary) will require at least one internal staircase acting as main route to other floors while some others will require additional staircase that provides more functional role (escape route, emergency exit, alternative access into building). Take for instance, think of when you do laundry in a multi-dwelling apartment (like the design shared by nannymcphee), wouldn’t it be nice to have an alternative staircase at the back of the building to access the ground floor? So when thinking about staircases, you need to look beyond it’s primary use and consider the flow of the property. May God forgive me for writing as if I’m a “constituted authority.” Lest I forget it’s “Not a Bible.” |
#EndSARS Welcome to a "bandit economy" run by mafia-style cartels. Posterity will judge everyone who made our enviable country what it is today. |
Badgers14:They do. See below.
|
nannymcphee:I get it now. I think he’s trying to do something close to the attached design. Although it’s a cutout from a 6 unit of 2 bed design. One staircase should be fine and he should introduce the 3rd bedroom in the space used for the 2nd staircase beside the kitchen. Pic 1: 2 bed floor plan (upper floor) Pic 2&3: 3D Model A closed staircase is necessary for security of the upper floor. If compulsory, you can add a spiral staircase at the back of the building for the kitchen.
|
nannymcphee:Greetings! I’ve tried composing a reply to this post many times and I keep deleting it cos it’s too long. Pls can I ask these questions? 1. What’s the purpose of those staircase on the plan? And why 2? 2. I can see you’re trying to use the wall in the passage as a privacy wall. Have you considered other options that can help improve lighting condition in the house? For me, I might want introduce slat or other room divider materials in that area to screen off the living area while throwing light into the zone. Pic 1: Slat Pic 2: Wood Divider Pic 3: Lasercut Decorative Screen Partition 3. Can you try introduce a second window in the 3rd room? Let me stop here for now.

miracleedwards:Before SARS, even in the 80s when there were daredevil armed robbers, we survived with local police. |
DonBenny77:Are you a Nigerian living in Nigeria? I pray you don’t encounter these guys. We were thrown out of an interstate cab on one occasion by SARS men just because the driver is trying to help a passenger who missed his bus stop back to his destination. All of us were thrown down from the cab in the middle of the Benin/Ore expressway and they went away with the vehicle. |
InvertedHammer:I knew it’ll definitely get to this. |
Badgers14:Check out sika sealant. I get it from Mushin. There are wider range used for different applications. |
I think someone just hit our reset button |
Abolarin91:This is another B2B abi B2C logistics/supply management issue and something I mentioned last week. Having a business is never enough in Nigeria, you need to also learn all the intricacies. Unfortunately government ain’t doing well enough in protecting her citizens. They’re only interested in milking Nigerians without providing any value in return. I don’t think it’ll cost CAC anything huge to provide every business owners an handbook on this (digital or otherwise). Today, anyone with a mobile phone and an account on Jiji is a businessman. Thank God you didn’t run into the hand of kidnappers. It’s tough doing online business with unverified contacts. You need to do a lot more to protect yourself and whatever happen in between Again, this is one area we aren’t getting it right in Nigeria. Consumer Protection = 0 Suppliers right = 0 We need better legislation on electronic communications and transactions that protect consumers/suppliers alike and also ensure that a proper process is followed by suppliers and purchasers when goods are bought, transactions are cancelled and items returned. It’s not enough to be firing missiles after every failed transactions. We need to learn and understand how to protect ourselves. For consumers/purchasers, before purchasing any expensive/cheap/fragile item online, or something that you are a bit unsure about, make sure that you familiarise yourself with the supplier’s terms and conditions and refund policy before making your purchase. Don’t always be in a rush! For suppliers, not all that glitters are gold in a faceless world. I’ve been engaged to build 2 house by a man who have just N3.5m in his account. Guess what, he drives a N50m car. ![]() Thank God, I wasn’t gullible to deliver all the materials used for the project to the Client’s site. I made arrangement to drop the materials at a location near the site. I also made the customer understand that I reserve the right of disposal of the goods until certain conditions are fulfilled. I didn’t waste time to sell off the materials when the agreement was breached. For suppliers, always exercise lien and retain possession of the goods, until full payment of the agreed price. Do everything and anything you can to protect yourself and your business! |
Greenarrow01:You can actually squeeze in more cars if you have a great parking team. Otherwise, playing around your hall design might be the only way to achieve your goal. You can make the hall longer and not wide to achieve space for angle parking. It’s easier and also faster to park in angle parking. You can actually add more parking spaces in a small area. |
edoman2016:It depends on the location and your experience. For instance, I’ve invested in dump truck and I was able to recoup my investment in less than 8 months. I’ve also invested a house and I’ve not earned any kobo on it in 5 years. I’ve instead in some cheap land and I was only able to make 10% profit in 5 years. If you consider the initial capital outlay and the time it takes to recoup your investment, a dump truck might be more profitable both in the short and long term. Whatever you do, don’t forget to insure your asset. ______ You can practically build any house almost half the price when you own a dump truck. Buy correct one though! |
Greenarrow01:Not impossible! But not without a tweak to your hall design. 2 cars requires 50sqm (parking and drive/maneuver) space
