To all artisan and product seller here, we should all be careful and be extra vigilant on how we transact with unknown customers/client. I experienced another way of scaming two days ago! , I got a call from an unknown man through , we agreed on price and he ask me to bring the materials to one address around ikorodu igbogbo area. To cut the long story short, I delivered the materials, and he ask for my acct number and the app displayed my name and I saw "successful", I have to leave since he is acting like a pastor and it raining heavily that day(he even used bible as his dp). Till now I didn't see any alert from him an his contact has been off since mknday .

I'm just curious ... can N38m to N40m ish deliver a top quality 5-bedroom duplex (on a 1.3m raft foundation) in today's money?

If not, what will be your rough estimate?

My numbers are:
4-boards Raft foundation incl oversight concrete ~ N5m
From foundation to roof ~N15m (i.e. complete carcass = 5m+15m = N20m)
Top level finishing ~ N15m

Of course we will be making proper plans including BOQ. It's early days yet, so just trying to play with some numbers.

Feel free to chime in with your thoughts, especially those currently building either as a client or contractor.

This is wrong.
A pump rated for 230v 50Hz will require 230v to drive the electric motor shaft. Doesn't matter if it's 0.2hp,0.5hp or 20hp
Anything less will be inviting trouble.

would be grateful if you can lay your hands on the specs and post here. i also got to know that ---- Decay is not linear, and a quality pump will give you charts showing flow for given depth/head.
so even though the 1/3hp pump i mentioned has a head of 230ft and 8gpm, its likely that it may output about 3gpm if installed at say 100ft, to pump to an overhead tank 40ft above the surface

search on jiji/konga/jumia, also a renewable energy seller that advertises on this thread may have an idea cc: kiekie

better said now, its the gen will probablly burn not the pump, u mixed it up. all motors/pumps have startup surge and will draw 2x to 6x their rated power rating on startup

2ndly while it appears a smaller horsepower rated pump performs better than a bigger pump is cos of this same draw. if perhaps phcn voltage is at 160v, a 1/2hp pump will barely have any effect on the voltage on startup..perhaps it may drop to 145v for a few seconds during startup, but a bigger pump, say 2hp will drag the voltage to 120v or so, thus it would not be able to start

is there anyone smaller than 0.5hp?. i have seen 1/3hp..ie 250w on aliexpress, but costs more to ship it in, the 250w has a flow head of 8gpm and 230ft head, do you know the specs of the 0.5hp by interdap?. at 8gpm, it implies it will take aprrox 1.5hrs to fill a 2000liter drum.

Chief, I appreciate your #notabibeli disclaimer but this sentence is a head-scratcher to any Electrical Engineer, the way you conflate voltage, current, and power into one scenario, lol. In short (pun intended), whatever burns an 0.5hp pump will burn a 1hp pump.

Your second statement is more to the point.

Point 3. In that case, 0.5hp does it for me.
