The agent who chop 5k on my supplies said they said they can deliver to Mowe. I told him the person involved do not want “they told me to tell you” kinda arrangement and would like to work directly with the driver.
I can share his detail with you. Pls kindly do your due diligence.
michlins: well I don't want join issues with anyone about this. I'm here to make money and the price at which I sell my wares is something I know I can do. If anyone wants to pay me 46,000 for the jobs I advertise for #18,000 then who am I to reject money. The opportunity to prove my worth here will come and I will take advantage of that. Thanks to everyone who take out time to engage me in a conversation
EgunMogaji2: I have no Dog in the fight. I don't hire off of Nairaland so I'm immune. Even as a business owner my solidarity is with the individual builder. I do not want some little guy that wants to place a dwelling above his family's head to scour his local town looking for a N16K iron door.
If I was sitting in the USA and I sent money home to have a door bought and they said they spent N35K (your figure) and I read this piece for N16K, what do you think I would be thinking Sir?
We have to look at both sides.
Iron Worker has to:
1) Pay rent
2) Pay for electricity
3 Buy petrol/diesel
4) Buy electrodes
I weld also, so I know how much electrodes will go into a door.
25k will be fine for one good door. 35k will be too much.
EgunMogaji2: Nothing is actually wrong about doing "Baranda" if he is honest about it through I will never patronize one knowingly. To be honest I do not hire from Nairaland as a rule but I do occasionally (my Architect is from here), not that there is no fantastic artisans on here but the internet makes it easy for unscrupulous characters to create a fake persona.
The issue I have is with the price. I searched diligently locally here and the best I could get was N45K for quality that is acceptable to me. The risk here is that a new builder would try to find N16K doors locally to him and run himself mad doing so.
The most expensive part of the steel door which is the metal plate is sold N4,500 - N5,000
Prince Royal, Apata - Ibadan
What else would add up to make up the 45k door?
Double Plates would be 9k - 10k Frames, welding, painting and transport can’t be 36k.
kopell: Can those guys deliver to Ajah. I will need couple of 30 tons of similar product, no game no cheating with fair prices. Others that are interested should post their prices and references here to competitive as well.
Let me tell you what you need to know and why you may not get sand at the price shared.
When I bought my truck and took it to Ajah, the suppliers association said I cannot use it on my projects except I register as a supplier.
I told them I have no business with any association. I bought my truck just like anyone else can buy a Mercedes. I can determine what to do with it on my own project.
I told them I’m not selling sand. I just want to use it for my personal project.
These guys won’t have it.
So I decided to use 2 strong suppliers (one at Abraham Adesanya junction and the other at Alpha Beach). They have access to my truck anytime they have jobs and my driver mention their name anytime they have jobs.
So if you see my truck on the road and you ask my driver how much is sand, it’ll be the same rate as every other supplier.
The same thing applies to trucks from other states.
You’ll definitely need a supplier which ever way.
But I dare any supplier to say I’m wrong. Most suppliers don’t play games with me cos my supervisor always tell them “Oga, get hin own truck o.”
I have full data of what it takes to move a truck from Ibadan to anywhere in lagos and even within Lagos (the diesel, drivers fee, logistics etc). So as a honorable minister, I have decided to off my mic on this subject.
omanzo02: In that case the client choice defined that situation..... Oga Hajj once commented that knowing Nigeria for what it is it's better to tile all walls for rest of mind, but that seem to be a general view about kitchen and bathroom in Nigeria. Yes, noted that majority of Nigerians doesn't have consistent maintenance culture attitude but it not really necessary if you understand how protective satin paint could be.
The default setting in Nigeria is “All Bathroom/Kitchen Wall Tiled”
Today there are many antibacterial paints with formulation to produce a cleaner environment.
There are also steam resistant paints and the greaseproof paints that can be washed without any colour fading.

I don’t even know the guys. I’m running this through my site supervisor.
Fromwater: People are living there already and some structures are being raised there too. Will the 1m be enough to fix just the masters bdrm, living room, dining and the veranda, excluding the other 2 rooms?
Yes you can.
50 bags of cement = 130 Sand = 50 Ceiling = 100 Plumbing = 150 Electrical = 150 Borehole = X *Windows =150 Doors x 5 = 140 Water tank/tower = X Tiles = 150
Omonjoe: Hello our Professionals here. I'm planning to use stone coated ties roof. The building is a 4 bedroom bungalow and a security house. The kingpost is about 6m. Attached is the floor plan of the house and security house
Pls set aside money to buy more wood if you want a very good job. 300k is good for this.
flekky07: @Brabus where are we... Ogbeni open trend for the formation, education, enlightenmention all the tions. I can't wait.

Smiles. We are all waiting for the pics of the truck.
I’m not seeing myself opening threads on construction updates any time soon. Maybe customers can have access to construction updates on NextHome website tho.
But I’m sure I’d start sharing #bestofnaijahomes and the unique designs in the contemporary world which is my core. We’d be exploring alternative construction methods.
michlins: Kindly ponder upon it while you sleep. Goodnight
You have been advised by Mayor78. Pls don’t try to take any business on this section until you’ve been able to prove yourself beyond reasonable doubt.
There are lots of smart people here. It’s the best for you!
You could have easily make an in-road if our deal went through but just as Mayor78 rightly pointed out, you didn’t think the deal through before presenting your figures. Kindly remember I’m almost ready to mobilize you to site before you came up with the need to review the pricing.
If you really do this work, I think you should find a way to prove yourself beyond reasonable doubt.
Mayor78: You are making yourself look more unserious and melodramatic than a skilled fabricator. I have previously expressed doubts here over your claims that you are the main guy behind those doors and gates you post here. You have not made reasonable efforts to prove yourself and convince.
You’re right.
Badgers14: My oga, easy oooo I didn't want to quote your whole write up not to jam up space but take am easy oo..
I have not had any business dealings with this guy and don't know him.
But few points I want to address are, making 2k profit on the specific doors he was talking about.. this is not unusual in business.. I once worked for a fortune 500 company that have a product line that they make no money selling it but it is very popular with consumers, but they have hundreds of other products that they make boat load of profits from.
The welder man here, does not only deal on that specific doors..I am pretty sure he does, like every other businesses out there have their bread and butter product lines.
Second, dealing with different business. That's not unusual either. Personally I have a white collar job but I have sold t shirts, cars, tiles, ladies wears , umbrella, real estate. Etc. Neither were my full time job just i hear about a deal, if it sounds good to me , I will jump in , make the deal , take my cut and keep moving, I am no expert in my side business, so don't ask me which t shirt material is better or which car brand is more durable . I just look at the numbers, if the numbers are good, I am in
If you have dealt with this guy or knew someone who have and the business went sour, kindly advise us here..
Thanks.
You’re also right. This described me.
One would imagine I’m using the low pricing on some services as a bait. Well, it’s just an exclusive offer to NextHome Customers only.
You can’t call me to come and do Interlocks for you, I’ll just take a pass but I can show you how you can save big on your project. The rest is left for you to figure out. I can share contact if my casting crews with you but to take up the job as a project I’m not really sure if that right now.
Yesterday, I moved my steel parapet mold to a new site. I moved it to another NextHome project and not Mr ABC site.
Likewise, my dump truck. I used it majorly for NextHome projects. So the low pricing is largely enjoyed by my customers.
The same for formwork rentals, block production and equipment hire. They’re all value-added services exclusive to NextHome customers only.
Enyinne: Ok sir , I'm backing down on it but let him be real like u nah atleast say it the way it is in his area of business and stop scaring people with his exorbitant prices of sand and granite .thanks
michlins: please sir kindly note that there's no way I can know the price to every location in Nigeria. Why not tell me where you want the doors and I will make enquires about the cost with the haulage trucks and I will get back to you. And I don't make only doors too. Depending on the nature and quantity of the job, I can come to your location and make them
We will definitely work together.
Let me share something with you.
I wanted to do Tank Tower in Ondo state some years ago and I was given a very ridiculous bill. I think about 800k then. My major concern isn’t the cost but I’m unsure the welder can deliver the job.
So I decided to work with my welder who’s almost 200km (Ogun - Ondo state) away. He was able to give me a better deal at 200k. I remember talking to a cement truck driver to help move the Tank Tower from Ogun State to Ondo State. I paid less than 100k.
All expense spent on the tank tower was still less than 300k including installation.
I believe we can always work things out when the time comes. Distance is no barrier for me. We don’t have to meet to work together.
Enyinne: Hv u forgotten so soon that ur the one that used make lie kee u there . Is it praise or abuse ?u c cant express urself without abuse thats why so i give it back to u and added jara as a top up
JustCryptos: I passed a welder's shop and asked for the price of these doors (single). The criminal told me 220k and I'll supply the materials. I think he was drunk sha.
I felt the same way too when I saw this ad on Jiji. N50k for ordinary concrete sphere.
The guy said if I’m buying 10, he’ll reduce N5,000 per pc. I just shook my head and decide to DIY.
rajput4real93: Thanks for your vital information. May the Lord bless you.
DIY Interlock
Amen and thank you. I just encourage you to pay attention to the numbers as they’re coming.
N70,000 already sent to the stone dust supplier and the 189,000 for the production/installation has been set aside.
I’ll be making arrangement for cement tomorrow. I use Dangote. Lafarge is cool but it takes longer time to dry and because of the thickness of the stone we are producing, it become difficult removing it from the mold.
The production crew are happy to work because they already knew there’s another 942sqm waiting for them in Ikorodu in the coming week.
