n3xt: I took delivery of my 8cm interlocking molds few minutes ago. With production capacity of about 72sqm per day, we are sure of completing production within the next 8 working days.
Now, we are awaiting the delivery of Stone Dust.
Interlock Update
While awaiting the delivery of stone dust, I took time to conclude pricing per sqm with my production crew.
We agreed N450 per sqm (250/m2 for casting and 200/m2 for laying)
Total Labour Cost For Production/Installation = 189,000
Note: we are producing 8cm thick stone. The cost of producing 6cm will be cheaper. Later tonight or tomorrow, I’ll show the difference between a 6cm stone and 8cm stone.
The guys working on this project are moving from Ogun state to Ibadan and their charge remain the same That’s one of the benefits of making yourself a preferred customer.
michlins: how many entrance doors do you have at the building. I will advise that you use iron doors for all the house. They are cheaper and more durable. Each door below costs #18,000 for the single and #28,000 for the double door
Today, I ordered 2 x 30 tons Truck of Stone Dust. I was offered N70k which is fine by me. Should anyone know where I can get a better deal, please kindly dm me, I still need more.
I’m also making arrangements to ship in 2500 pcs of 8cm interlocking mold and some quantities of flower kerbs mold to Ibadan tomorrow.
We’re looking at completing the production within 8 working days barring unforeseen challenges.

fendorf: chinese trucks buckets differ.some can carry less and some can carry 30tons.i was talking about Chinese truck haulage from quarry to ajah lekki at 80k.
Can you share the pics of the truck that can carry 30 tons sharp sand at once?
Fromwater: Good morning everyone. I've been following this thread for a while now and it has been helpful. I need advice on what to do in this situation. My landlord has increased my house rent and I have a 3bdrm bungalow at hand which I have roofed. Now I have 1 million naira at hand. I want to ask the experienced ones here, is there a way to manage this money do I can move into the house. Thanks
Wow!
Where’s the project?
How much time do you have? Do you already have water on site? What’s the current state of the building?
Dennis3D: It is. That's why the client opted for another option. Coz to do the kitchen alone would have costed over 500K for just tiles only... By the square meter required
Which makes me to ask “Must we tile all the kitchen or just the wet areas?”
If yes, why?
I didn’t do that in my personal build and Buhari has not arrested me and I’ve never had to complain about using very expensive tiles.
n3xt: In few hours, I’ll kickstart a fresh interlocking brick project. The total area is 420sqm and the thickness is 8cm.
Tag along as I show you how to manage your interlocking brick flooring project and also reveal some of the less-known things related to such a big project.
It’s all pretty easy when you understand how to simplify everything in your project and save big but as a newbie that leaves you with plenty of details to figure out.

n3xt: DIY Pier/Pillar Cap & Concrete Sphere Update
I did some trials over the week and they were excellent.
Here are the things used for this project:
- Pier/Pillar Cap Mold (newly fabricated) - Concrete Sphere Mold (newly fabricated) - Belle 130l electric mixer - DIY Concrete Vibrator for small forms using my sander machine. This worked excellently. - Sand - Cement - Granite - Wire gauze to reinforce the form - 8mm iron rod
Note: It’s important to time construction projects right so that temperatures are not too warm when pouring concrete. We poured the second trial late evening and planned to put shade cloth over it during the day to keep it out of direct sunlight.
Pic 1: Concrete Sphere Mold Pic 2: First pier/pillar cap trial after 12 hours Pic 3: Concrete Sphere on pedestal
Right now, we are waiting till next Monday to demold the pier cap and the concrete sphere. ___ If this comes out well, next weekend I’ll be working on how to mass produce the project.
If you’re a DIY hobbyist or owner-builder, please consider keeping or having a 110l or 130l electric mixer on your project, it gives you better concrete mix. I’ve had this one for over 9 years and I’ve never had to repair it. I use it for mortar mix, precast concretes, and other applications during my DIY projects.

DIY Pier Cap/Concrete Sphere Update
The result of our second trial is out. We tried striped concrete sphere.
rotecch77: Somethings ago when handle a project at lekki/Ajah axis I did some findings about there sand there I went to “pump and sell” bus stop at Aado rd Ajah where China companies do sell sharp sand direct from lagoon I discovered that the pay-loader caterpillar bucket is 5 tonnes and that your truck size is what common in that axis most of them do carry 2 bucket of the pay-load which is accurate 10 tonnes but they will tell you it’s 15 tones, you hardly see them take 3 bucket of that pay-loader. Any truck with that 3 buckets( real 15tonnes) of the pay-loader will be full like KILODEE And it’s sold as 25tonnes Against real 15 tones
EgunMogaji2: For those of our counting tires, do you mean you can load 30 tons in a 10 wheeler?
When I was naive, my driver actually used the same truck to load 25 tons of granite for me from Abeokuta. I was happy
It was indeed a miracle when the same truck couldn’t load more than 13 tons of Berger sharp.
I made google my friend and I discovered the truck is actually a 20 cubic yard truck. It can only carry 13.5 tons and we never hit that number because of the tires.
When I was working in Ondo and I was given 28 tons by stoneworks (a company in Akure), we used the granites to sandfill almost 300m road because it was too much.
Pics 1&2 (Home Depot): Here’s what 13.5 tons (20 cu yard) look like abroad. I know it’s (or should be) different here
Pic 3: 13 tons x 2 by NextHome
Disclaimer: Pls don’t go and fight your suppliers o. The truck been discussed here is NextHome dump truck and shouldn’t be taken as industry standard.
What are you guys talking about. Beauty is in the eye if the beholder. I quite like those base protruding pillars. Have you imagined that a rat could hide under it away from scorching concrete sun while taking a view of the compound for its next escapade?? Again the edges are smooth and appears uniform. It didn't spoil the aesthetic of the 200m build in my opinion.
It really didn’t spoil the aesthetics. It just brought mixed feelings and made the build a subject of attention.
The beholder in this case are the guests/visitors/patrons (online and offline) and not the owner. That’s one part most people don’t get right in commercial builds. It’s not always about what you want but what your customers want.
