Earthmoving | Bobcat or Small Wheel Mini Payloader Needed Around Oshodi I need contact of anyone or company that have a Bobcat or Mini Payloader for hire around Oshodi. Call/SMS 080 234 29 122 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8swjU8uYaU |
Thanks @rotecch for the call. We’d definitely do something. @sonnie10 @kelvincoaster @hosannaheights @fegeitok Your suggestions are noted and well received. |
Blessedsunny2:Thanks. It’s brick tiles. We’ll wait. |
bolu1986:Noted. I didn’t know you do this. I’ve been waiting for a guy to do something for me since last week. |
@Blessedsunny2 Are you still in Lagos or you’re already in the village? I left you a message on WhatsApp (yet to deliver) that I’ll need more South African Bricks. Thanks. |
sonnie10:Thanks! I’m always ready to talk any day, any time. You know my position here on disputes. I always act as an impartial person called a "mediator" that helps parties in dispute try to reach a mutually acceptable resolution. mountmoriah vs cribking1 https://www.nairaland.com/2550211/general-topic-thread-to-discuss-anything/1995#99020561 So I know what works and what won’t work and I make earliest recommendations. Childish rants and online banters won’t fix anything but a mutually agreed resolution by the parties in dispute. Unfortunately, one cannot be an umpire in his own game. Would I have acted different if it was someone else? Definitely! rotecch77 vs Rajput4real chekitaut vs Thenext chekitaut vs Segzy14 Cases were managed offline.

PrinceLat:Well received. Thanks! |
somehow:Smiles. We used marine boards sir. I paid for those things from my pocket and I know what we did. |
somehow:While awaiting the screenshot, may I ask if he paid for the materials used for the fins up till 25th Sept? If no, who paid for the materials used for the fins in the picture. It’s definitely not you and not him but me. |
somehow:You’re right. RC wall beside the fins. I take that back. |
somehow:Not contested. The roofing of both buildings were done and also feltedNot contested. The big slab besides the fins was casted (L shaped)The slab was casted in May. Check the thread. The rest of the fins were casted (L shaped)I already paid for the materials required for this. Ask your supervisor. Block work was done from lintel to roof for security houseMore than enough blocks were on site that I produced in May. The only block I bought from outside are 6 inches block because the quantity required is not worth the stress. I made provision for the pillars for the security house since he claimed wasn't part of the 1.4mI remembered you wanted 6 columns in the security house and I asked you how many columns do we have in the main house. I didn’t claim it wasn’t there. I told you that you can’t pay for 10 pcs of iron rods for the whole security house and be asking for 6 pillars. Kindly refer to the 2.1m quote. We only made provision for 10 pcs of 12mm iron rod for the security house. We did the German floor for the security houseThis was also laughable too! The QS claimed 8 bags was used for the flooring. You can do 100 bags but you didn’t pay me that much sha. If you check the top floor of the main house, you'd see some block work we completed that won't be found on any of his pictures prior to 25th of September. Not contested. We repaired the trusses that was badly installed.I have nothing to say here. I offered to do it at no cost to you but you bluntly refused. We bought and installed the atrium glass roof.We paid for this and had it delivered on site as at May 2021. Check the record. I’m happy to refund the cost. Everyone can see who is getting agitated already having been shown the difference. Is that all? When I saw 97.5% advance payment, I was expecting to see we bought 30 tons truck of granite, trailer load of cement etc. It’s well sha! |
somehow:I don’t take your QS a serious anymore since he can’t provide evidence of where the fictitious 126 pcs of 150mm blocks he claimed you bought were used on the security house. I honestly don’t bother reading whatever he share anymore because it’s worthless to me after 4the review. Once again, I’ll attach your security house here. Please kindly show me where 126 pcs of 150mm blocks were used. I know we didn’t use so much 150mm blocks in the main house. Aiye o!
|
somehow:Oga share picture of the house. Simple! |
somehow:The construction thread is there na to see pictures of what has been done as at May. Show me what you did different sir. It’s pretty simple! I’ll be right back with he last picture before termination of the contract. Let’s see what you did different. ____ Attached is picture of the house as at 25th September sent to me by my clients right hand man who was on the project from the beginning to the end. He can confirm that I made payment for all the works done on the project till the last picture sent. I’ve even sent him additional payment for the conclusion of the remaining works.
|
somehow:Lie!! Anyone who know me knows I do milestone based payment. The only reason we had to accept advance payment was because of the I crease in cost of reinforcement the very first day the project was to commence. You were duly informed and I explained the implication of not stocking up to you. Your QS confirmed the rise in cost of reinforcement and approved the upfront payment for reinforcement. Interestingly I bought all the reinforcement to slab stage at once. Check the thread and stop twisting things. I attach screenshot below for reference. To buy all the needed materials for storage on site to avoid rise in cost. Can you at least mention the materials that were not readily on site? Let me see if you have anything to share sir. Just feel free to share the extra things you bought that I’ve not provided. Please note we walked this route during the review and I asked you and the QS to provide evidence that you paid for certain things. I even atrached pictures to show you when I provided those things. For someone who doesn’t visit site but only rely on what he was told, I don’t expect anything less. Remember I attached the correspondence I had with your supervisor to show that I gave him money for all he needed for the job. Pls kindly share those things you bought sir. Questions everyone should ask him isI’m only providing refund for the roofing sheet that has not been installed, the coping yet to be poured and other accessories that comes with roof installation. Nothing more. That you spent money on trusses is not my worry because the trusses has been delivered as at April 2021. I’m also 100% confident you’re not asking me to provide a refund for blockwork. Need I remind you sir that I’m also providing a refund for the atrium glass that got broken on site due to the fact that we delivered it earlier than when it’ll be ready for installation. I’m sure insensitivity led you to ask for a refund for that which I’m happy to give back. The reason he asked for payment in advance at every stage has been defeated and can be tagged as deceit. Please kindly provide evidence sir. He deceived me into releasing money in advance without buying all materials as expected.Feel free sir to list out all the materials that has not been bought. I’ll be happy to debunk the LIES in the open like I always do. I remembered your QS was asking for scaffold and he sent me a funny picture to show me you bought bamboo. Very laughable though! Now I ended up using my own money to buy materials at the current rate to complete the jobs he abandoned for months. If you are made to buy materials because someone recommended it, it’s not my fault. You could at least have double check with me before going ahead to buy buy buy. Yet telling the house he's only going to pay at the rate at which the funds were released to him 7 to 9 months ago.The picture of the building 7 months ago is still on the thread, please kindly feel free to share what has been done different on the building and let’s see how much you’ve been ripped sir. Why are you afraid to share sir? As at October 2021, the blocks that I produced in May 2021 for the project are still on the site. What else did we not buy bayi o? Chekitaut supplied all the granite for the project as at April. Even cement were kept in the store for several months without use. I rest. |
somehow:Until I’m able to get answer to the question below, I won’t take any of the report serious. It shows the figures were just concorted. I know this was cleverly dodged in other submissions. A good example is the valuation of the fence. A 84m fence with over 20 reinforced concrete columns, 600mm reinforced concrete raft, and sandcrete block was valued at N770,000 while a 10sqm security house was valued at N630,000 |
topsy23:Here’s my position and message to the client when I first saw the valuation report: I’ve checked the QS doc. It actually undervalued the project instead of carrying out an independent/unbias valuation of the work done. It is expected.Certain things defy logic. I know we might have a similar issue if I chose to go same route, hence the reason I worked with the contract bill of quantities. I ticked off what was done and sum up the cost of what wasn’t done. Pretty simple.
|
somehow:I’m quite sure you don’t understand what is called dependencies in a project sir and you chose to deliberately ignore. By the way, here’s our discussion in September about what has to be done prior to roofing and not after roofing. Pls kindly help me understand how you want to see a roof installed according to the contract in May when: >> a change order request was made to install steel truss instead of using wood which was what we agreed to do in the contract. >> we spent over a month waiting for the roof steel installer to come and do the installation of the roof. Regardless of your claims, you were reliably informed and the contract spelt out what excusable delays covers. The fabrication of the trusses were long completed even as at end of April. >> the plastering of the parapet walls wasn’t done until 2 months after we stopped work on the structure in May. Am I the one stalling that? Or was it part of my contract? >> the contract to install Atrium windows wasn’t awarded until sometimes in September. You specifically requested we shouldn’t install the roof before your window is done. I gave you 4 months extra to complete the job that was to take 3 months, yet you didn't.We spent the extra four months waiting on you to complete the dependencies. We did no major work on the structure between those times. The records are there to verify. I even assisted you with money to aide what broke on site.Thank you and I refunded the money back to you when you asked for it. I remember it was done out of reluctance when I told you the glass won’t have broken if we haven’t brought it to site. I can imagine what will have happened if we put roofing sheets on site while waiting for all the dependencies to get completed. I gave you enough room to succeed and chose not to come here to drag you until you came here to lie about the status of work. How was it a lie? All evidence shows that I was paying your supervisor who was on site to manage the construction when all we do is “He told me to tell you” To prevent miscommunication, I decided to fully engage him to handle the security house. Even during the reviews, I asked that you provide evidence that you paid for all the materials used prior to the termination, I didn’t get a single reply. So where’s the lie about the status of work coming from? I wouldn't want to resume typing again since we have gone past this stage before.Justice and fairness is what I care about now.
|
somehow:As I’ve shared with you and the QS sir, the building is yours and you’re free to spend whatever sum you like to get the job done. It’s not an issue for me. I remembered paying the a QS 200k to prepare me a BOQ that was eventually thrown out for a bid that I ended up securing with my non-professional Bill of Quantities. I own the money and chose what to do with it. What I won’t do is to pass the cost of the BOQ to my client because he didn’t ask me to spend such money. That’s why I won’t be in such a hurry to fire a contractor in an ongoing project. If eventually that route will be followed, I’ll ensure we reconcile all accounts before doing anything on the project to prevent conflicts and disagreements. |
Dubemcapital1:I can attest to this. I’m so loving the paint everyday. I also did Cameo on my fence. As a matter of fact, the same colour was just endorsed by lots of people in our ongoing Oshodi church project.
|
QSFemi:Sure it does. It help put everything in true perspective. ______ For those who felt, I’ve not done well enough to allow things to come to the open forum. May I ask “How else would we have been able to come up with more than 4 different reviews if I’ve not been having a close-door discussion with the client and his representatives?” I’ll upload all the reports, agreements and other correspondences on slideshare for those who want to see the true picture of things. |
When claims are to be made by my client, the current cost of materials and how inflation has killed almost everything matters.... But when it’s time to value what was done and what was on site, the market price doesn’t count.
|
As if that wasn’t enough, why are you still pushing the responsibility of fixing the steel trusses on me when you know fully well that it was handled by a subcontractor and we offered to fix it at no cost to you under supervision of whoever is making claims that things weren’t done right.
|
Why am I still seeing the cost of woodwork in the valuation? I once again demand an open explanation. Assuming woodwork will be included, “Would anyone have paid a carpenter N150k just to nail N120k noggin woods?” It arexse going to install wood on steel trusses? This is just of the too many errors.
|
Here’s my submission on the issue of steel trusses. The subcontractors quote supersedes mine and we have to remove the cost of roofing materials and workmanship in my bill which we did.
|
When asked to justify the above, this is what I got from the QS.
|
Truth is constant. The truth you said in the morning will be the same thing you’ll hear in the evening. I’ve only submitted one figure but I’ve received 5 different conflicting figures from my client. It tells a lot. It’ll be interesting to share some of these concocted figures. __________ I was once told the valuation of the security house was 43% of the 1,400,000 paid and when asked to explain how these figures were arrived at, I heard stories.
|
Because it’s Brabus, I know no one here will ever think of asking what are the cost component of the attached valuation? Hypocrisy reeks here. May the Lord recompense all of us accordingly. |
somehow:Nothing was ever left undone. The project was still ongoing when you decided to terminate the contract and I’ve never asked you for additional sum on any of the items that we’ve agreed on. So I don’t want you to assume my position. I already made contact with a well known roofer here several months (July 2021) before the termination. He has sent in his installer for measurement ( I paid for his logistics), submitted his quote and was waiting for the date we are going to do the installation. He didn’t bill me up to N1m neither did he change his price months after.
|
somehow:I only presented figures from the Bill of Quantities. I didn’t add to it nor remove from it. It’s the fairest thing to do. |
For the records, the process of refund started long before the termination of the contract. I already made a refund of N50,000 transferred to me by my client as a support for the broken atrium glass back to the client when issues started manifesting. Till moment, my fund for a replacement glass (paid in August) is still with the glass supplier in Ajah around GTBank Addo road. I can always pick up anytime I have something around the place or give them to friends/colleagues/family who need it. To avoid stories, I offered to make a complete refund for the glass in my submission despite the fact that the cause of the damage wasn’t my fault. I’ve also talked to my client about we resolving major issues first and find a common ground on irreconcilable differences but it seems I’m not doing well enough. Some weeks back I sent a payment for a missing borehole pump to my client to order a new replacement borehole pump because the one we got for the project was missing and we didn’t use it during the project lifetime. We use NextHome water pumps during construction. I didn’t deliberately stall anything. I’m not just ready to pay for what I don’t owe. |
QSFemi:Interesting. I’m not mean though but I can share with whoever I like because you just uploaded some documents without regards for privacy and security. Every little things matters a lot. |
