I suggest you stop asking all these ''which state has plenty job opportunities" question and instead pray to God for His will to be done. You know what? NYSC can even post you to a state you didn't even choose, don't be surprised, that happened to me. Before graduating then i prayed to God that wherever i'm posted to, God should make it a place like home to me, because i was also nurturing this same ambition of settling down there, and i can tell you yesterday made it exactly a year after service and am still here doing my business and earning salary at the same time. Let God lead you.

This question goes both ways, as a guy can you marry a lady older than you and as a girl can you marry a guy younger than you. If you can, how many years interval can you bear and on what ground ?
I have always said i would not marry any lady older than 26 but prefer 24, mind you i'm 29 and planning to get married when am 31 and presently friending an almost 33 year old lady whom am comfortable with though not dating but i may shoot my shot. So what do you guys say?

Hello business gurus in the house, i run a business which generates daily income and also earn on monthly basis from another place of work. I took up the job to further create another channel of income apart from the existing business. The challenge is that it will take longer time to raise the money from my business when compared to salary, hence the question. A part of me feels the business should be able to produce another busines while on the contrary i feel i should just use my salary to create another source of income. So which of the two options sound more financially intelligent? Thanks.

I don't believe this. Don't go and be like one guy in my compound o. He is only a phone charger and married (no wedding o) e just impregnated the poor girl and now they have a daughter that is of school age but not yet in school, the only food i see them cook every night when they return from the charging center is indomie, imagine indomie without egg for the 3of them every night.

Maybe because I am/was salaried, I do not think of saving towards marriage. Rather, I would say your income should reach a level. Your marriage is not a one off. It is a revolving expense. In 2003, I was earning 29k. I did not get married. In 2005, I was earning 50k . I did not get married. I then got a job paying. 150k, and I was married in 6 months. If course one can still lose a job, I do not look at marriage, which should last a life time, and which will ideally yield kids as something you save towards. Maybe I’m wrong.

I cannot advise you to marry on those earnings. I say this because even if you do not plan on having children, unless you and your wife use condoms every single time, you may find your self with a child in short order. That money cannot even cover diapers , much less baby clothes, baby food, wipes etc. and it is all uphill from there. You will rapidly become frustrated and miserable.

Unless your hustle brings in significant income, I can’t advise it. Don’t believe all that story of you can live on 30k per month. You will be barely subsisting, and you and your wife will grow old fast

My question is, to the married men, how much was their monthly saving before going into marriage. And if you are yet to marry, how much would you advise to be my target? Thanks

I think you should vacate your current environment and try to expand your dream. If you insist on settling down at your current location, still work out a plan to raise your dream, set big targets and strive to achieve them. Regardless of where you live, set a target that is comparable to someone living in Lagos Mainland where a 2-bedroom goes for 500k min. Raise that 500k, pay 50k rent and save up the 450k.

Thanks, am grateful for sharing your bright mind on this matter. Some of the considerations are, starting life as a young man is comparatively easier than Lag whr my family is based, part of the plan is to make the money here and educate my kids in Lag under the watch of my parents, while they come here for holiday just like boarding school kids.

I recently turned 29 and i have never felt the reality of settling down like am feeling now. A brief introduction about myself: am the only male child of 3children, my mum almost singlehandedly raised us, though dad is alive and kicking but doesn't really care. I became an entrepreneur a year ago after NYSC.

Current monthly saving is less than 30k after tithe. I have the potential of doubling it before end of next year.

Note: i am not under any pressure to marry and am not even dating (not until i'm ready for marriage ) but i plan to marry when i turn 31 in 2021 after settling my mum and sisters, i believe they must be financially free especially my mum before i can settle for marriage. Now here comes the question, if you live in a 12k5 single room like me, pays 12k annual shop rent and 2bedroom flat apartment goes for 50k max (future marriage consideration) how much do you think its ok as a monthly saving before marriage. And if you are married, how much was your monthly saving then.

Now a friend is set to get married shortly and just informed me he wishes i'm one of the groomsmen, i was like wat do u say?
