It’s not likely a toddler can hold his pee all day, increase his water intake. Place a 1.5 litre bottle somewhere and ensure he drinks it all before 7pm he will pee even if in his trousers !

You also have to decide whether you want him to be potty trained or not you can’t keep switching back to diapers at the slightest resistance from the young man.
In Europe and co they don’t fuss much and allow children do it at their pace , maybe that can work for you but if you’re in this our Africa- Nigeria be ready to be lectured at every interval by every woman/mum/neighbour/ Aunty/ grandma you come across .

You can also take him to the potty/toilet every two hours and have him sit there for a while. You’d sit quietly and don’t engage in chats until he does his business . You can be pressing your phone or reading or catching up on notes . Its tedious but you’d get it soon enough!

Also the fact that I want him to be potty trained before starting school hopefully end of this year or early next year.

I will let him recover fully first before we resume again. The sickness really scared me but thank God he's better.

You can try give him candy every time he sits on potty even if he does nothing in It. But he sounds very stubborn. If he pees on potty more praise, if he pees on floor make him go sit on potty a few times but if he continues to refuse then spank him. You have to make him try sit on potty every half an hour until he knows this is not a game.

We started potty training at 1yr 10ms after he started school.
It took sometime for him but he got a hang of it.
Think you should stop wearing him diaper. He'll always refuse to use his potty when he knows he has diaper on.

I actually planned to make him quit diaper just like that whether he agree to use potty or not but the guy started holding his pee and poop for the whole day, once I wake him and bath him in the morning and dress him without diaper he will not pee or poo again all through the day till night when I wear him diaper to sleep. Then the second day of doing this routine of bearing piss morning till evening he started developing one kain serious cough and catarrh and serious sneezing and temperature. And protruding tummy.
I dont know of it was because of the cold weather or because of not relieving himself all through the day but I had to stop our potty training and start wearing him diaper again so that he will pee and poop during the day.

This morning he got better miraculously and is no longer sneezing or running temperature. He has been pooing since morning now and the tummy had gine back to normal size.

I don tire maybe I will buy washable diaper to save money.

Hello all, I need advice please

My toddler of two years 8 months is stubbornly refusing to use potty. We started training him immediately after his second birthday when he could understand instructions to pee and poop.
He used it about four times and then started stubbornly refusing to use it, we tried coaxing him it didn't work, offering bribes didn't work, spanking didnt work, he just says no or runs away or fights you when you try to get him to sit on potty.

I have downloaded plenty cartoons teaching potty he will just settle down and watch the cartoons and discard whatever the lesson in it was.

I don't know how to get him to use potty, he understands how to use it he is just being stubborn. Me I am tired of buying diapers, economy is something else and price of molfix went up suddenly.
