A 19-Year-Old Man, Abba Yusuf, has allegedly killed his 60-year-old father, Alhaji Dahiru Yusuf Maileather, in Sarkin-Noma area of Lokoja, the Kogi State capital.

An Eyewitness told DAILY POST that the incident happened over the weekend at about 8:30 a.m. in Sarkin-Noma when Dahiru Yusuf was stabbed to death by his son.

The Elder brother of the deceased, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammed Bala, who confirmed the incident, said he was at his residence when a sister called him about the tragic event.

“When my sister called me, she said our brother had been killed by his son. I quickly ran to my brother’s residence only to be told he had been moved to a hospital,” he said.

Bala added that the suspect has been handed over to the police. He also mentioned that the mother of the suspect and her other two children have fled to an unknown destination.

Efforts to reach the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, concerning the incident proved abortive, as he failed to answer calls or respond to text messages sent to his phone lines.

A Pastor at the Church of The Brethren (EYN) Moduganari in Maiduguri, Borno State slumped and died while conducting a child naming and dedication service.

It was gathered that Pastor Vincent Alaku was naming a child during service on Sunday, October 6, 2024, when he suddenly slumped with the microphone in his hand.

Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.

Meanwhile, members of the church have confirmed the sad incident on Facebook.

“We regret to announce the sudden demise of the EYN Church Pastor serving in EYN LCC Moduganari, who passed away after collapsing during a child naming and dedication service. May he rest in peace,” one Zaphaniah Kwaji wrote.

“Wonderful should never end epically in moduganari. Another sadness. I have never seen something like this! He was acting in his capable role. And just of a sudden collapse. Much pain, confusion, shock, sadness among others. We will never forget this day! 6th October, 2024 hit us hard,” one Tankwa Chokali wrote.
