The Delta State Police Command has arrested a man in his twenties for allegedly stabbing a girl after a sex romp in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area, Delta State.

PUNCH Online gathered that the man simply identified as Mr Daniel, was alleged to have stabbed the sex worker in a brothel, Apple Inn, on Friday night, along the ever-busy Benin/Asaba Expressway, after an altercation over his refusal to pay the agreed fee.

Sources said the suspect, a regular customer at the brothel, had hinged his refusal to pay the agreed fee on his claim that the sex worker denied him ejaculation during the third round of the sex romp.

“While the sex worker was insisting that he must pay the complete amount as agreed, stressing that he was hard on her, the suspect picked a knife, possibly from the sex worker’s kitchen, stabbed her and dragged the knife downward”, a source said.

“The man was arrested by police officers after a distress call by some residents.”

The Sources added that the victim whose identity could not be ascertained as of the time of filling this report was in critical condition when she was rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

A Senior Police Officer in the Agbor Division of the police who confirmed the arrest said a team of police officers from the division was dispatched to the scene after a distress call.

He disclosed that upon their arrival, the victim was seen in a pool of her blood while the suspect was almost being lynched by an angry mob.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bright Edafe, said he had called the DPO of Agbor Division, who promised to get back to him on the matter.

He said, “I cannot confirmed it now. I have called the DPO in Agbor, he promised to get back to me but he has not.”

Gunmen Suspected to be assassins have killed a middle-aged Man, Abdulrafiu Afegbua, popularly known as Uroy, in Edo State.

The incident occurred in Awoyemi community, Okpella, located in the Etsako East Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that Afegbua, was at home with his wife on the night of October 5, 2024, when he reportedly received a phone call summoning him to a location.

Despite his wife’s attempts to dissuade him from leaving at such a late hour, he rushed out of the house to meet his caller.

Upon reaching the agreed location, Afegbua was ambushed and shot in the chest and neck by the assailants, resulting to his death.

After hours passed with no word from her husband, Afegbua’s distressed wife repeatedly called his mobile phone, but her calls went unanswered.

A search party was formed the following morning, and they discovered Afegbua’s lifeless body in a nearby bush, not far from where his motorbike was found abandoned on a path.

The Spokesperson of the State Police Command, SP Moses Yamu, confirmed the incident on Sunday, stating that investigations are currently ongoing.

A 20-Year-Old Male identified as Tunde Fajobi tragically passed away after a swimming accident at the AM 2 PM hotel in Ibafo, following an unauthorised use of the hotel’s pool.

PUNCH Metro learnt on Wednesday that the incident happened on September 29, 2024, at about 11:30 am.

One of our correspondents gathered that the deceased, who attended a party at the hotel with his friends, reportedly went to use the hotel’s pool without informing anyone and without knowing how to swim.

A resident of the area, who pleaded anonymity because he was not authorised to speak with the media, told PUNCH Metro that the deceased was lodged at the hotel, but went to use the pool without knowing how to swim and without telling anyone.

“Something like that happened last week. The young man went to swim but didn’t even know how to swim. He was part of those who lodged at the hotel. He didn’t know how to swim and didn’t tell anyone he wanted to go and swim. Nobody was aware he wanted to swim. It’s when they noticed he was struggling to swim that they quickly took him out of the pool and rescued him”, she said.

Another resident who was around when the incident happened said, “We suspect that he might have been drunk because he left where everybody was and went to the pool alone.”

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday, confirmed the incident noting that the deceased used the pool without permission from the relevant quarters.

“The name of the deceased is Tunde Fajobi (m) aged 20 years. He came to a party with his friends at the AM-PM Hotel. After the party, he went to the pool that was locked and accessed it. But he was later discovered to have drowned in the pool by the hotel management. He was rushed to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. All this happened on 29/09/2024,” the statement read.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident was reported to the police by the deceased’s relative, Omosola Olawale, who attended the party with him alongside other friends.

“On the 29/09/2024 at about 1700 hours, one Omosola Olawale, ‘m’, a relative to the deceased person of no 23, Alhaji Sanni Street, Ibafo, Ogun State, came to the station to report that on the same date at about 1130 hours, he was alerted by the management of the AM-PM Hotel at the above address where he lodged with his brothers and some friends because of a show organised by his younger brother, one Shodipe Ismail, ‘m’, that one of his brothers, Tunde Fajobi, ‘m’, aged 20 years, had drowned in the hotel’s swimming pool”, Odutola continued.

The PPRO stated that the body was checked for signs of violence, but none was found, saying that the body had been deposited at a mortuary and investigations were ongoing.

“Immediately the information was received, the Divisional Police Officer drafted men to the scene. A photograph taken showed no mark of violence on the deceased’s body. The deceased was taken to the Real Divine Hospital mortuary for autopsy, and investigation is still ongoing,” she concluded.

A Gun Battle erupted between soldiers and yet-to-be-known gunmen in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, allegedly leaving scores dead and many injured.

According to the Nation, the attack occurred at the Aba branch in Ehime Mbano last night.

“Some non-state actors attacked and killed some soldiers in the area yesterday,” a source claimed.

“The whole place is on fire, and troops have taken over nearby communities,” the source added.

Following the incident, residents fled in panic amid constant shootings that filled the air, creating a climate of fear and uncertainty.

“We are terrified,” said a resident who wished to remain anonymous.

“The sound of gunfire is still echoing in our ears. We don’t know what will happen next. We are worried.

“Ehime used to be a serene environment, and we don’t know what is happening,” he added.

However, as of the time of filing the report, the Nigerian Army and the Police are yet to comment on the development when contacted by DAILY POST.

This comes days after the house of Senator Frank Ibezim, an ex-lawmaker, who represented Okigwe senatorial zone in the 9th Assembly and the National Open University centre in Ezeoke Nsu Ehime Mbano Local Government, were set ablaze.

The incident drew condemnation from the Police Command in Imo State.

Men Of The Ogun State Police Command have arrested two brothers identified as Femi Fagbohun, aged 43, and Kayode Fagbohun, aged 41, for the alleged kidnap, robbery, and rape of a 17-year-old girl (name withheld).

DAILY POST gathered that the victim had ordered a ride driven by Femi from Lekki in Lagos State to Abeokuta garage in Mowe, Ogun State, when the incident occurred.

According to reports, the Toyota Camry with registration number EKP 352AE stopped in front of Deeper Life Church, Lotto in Mowe, where Kayode entered with a broken bottle, threatening to kill her.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on Wednesday, said the driver, who had planned beforehand with his younger brother, kidnapped the victim and drove her to an unknown location.

Odutola stated that the victim was robbed of her iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at N840,000, a sum of N50,000 cash, and a ransom of N200,000 was collected from her boyfriend.

She noted that the victim was taken to a remote area at Omu Junction, Ofada, where she was also raped by the assailants.

Odutola said, “The victim reported on Monday at about 10:02 AM that while traveling from Lekki in Lagos State to Abeokuta garage in Mowe, she booked an online ride in a Toyota Camry with registration number EKP 352AE.

“She was informed that she had been kidnapped and was asked to call someone to pay a ransom. She called her boyfriend, Akinwale Williams, who transferred N200,000 to an FCMB account belonging to one Awanatu Hamzat Adejoke.

“A sum of N50,000 cash was taken from her, including an iPhone 13 Pro Max valued at N840,000.”

According to the spokesperson, her stolen phone was tracked to one Tunde Ajayi, who led the detectives to Kayode in Oke Sioni Imedu and later to Femi.

Odutola added that on interrogation, the two men confessed to the crime, adding that they sold the vehicle used in carrying out the dastard act.

She revealed that an unregistered blue Toyota Camry was recovered from the suspect and the case would be transferred to the SCID for further investigation and likely prosecution.
