A Female Student’s hotel at the University of Benin was on Tuesday gutted by fire.

According to a social media user, Ruth Nifemi, who shared a video, the fire destroyed some documents and property at the Hall 2 hostel of the university.

She Wrote, “Hall 2 UNIBEN is on fire and fire service came without water

“Entire room with documents burnt down”

The cause of the fire has not yet been ascertained.

A 200-Level Student Of The Federal University, Lokoja, Janet Kyeme, has been reported missing after she left to attend lectures at the university.

Janet, a Student of the Department of Library and Information Science, was last seen on Friday morning, March 15, when she took a motorcycle from her family house at Zango – Army Barracks area of Lokoja on her way to the main campus of the institution at Felele in Lokoja.

Her foster father, a pastor of a Pentecostal church in Lokoja, raised the alarm when she did not return from school that fateful day.

Pastor Joseph, a close friend of the family, said: “She left for school on Friday early morning as usual. When she did not come back from school that day, her foster father, a pastor and others called, but could not reach her as her cell phone was switched off.

“A sister was sent to the school to confirm her whereabouts without success.

“Apprehension has gripped the family over her fate, as no contact has been made to the family from any quarters since her sudden disappearance.”

The authorities of the university said the institution had left no stone unturned to ensure that the whereabouts of the student were established.

“The school authorities have taken appropriate action in conjunction with security agents and other relevant bodies. We hope our efforts will yield a desirable result. Since it’s already a security matter, we cannot say much about the situation now,” a director in the institution, who craved anonymity, said, according to Daily Trust.

A Woman Identified As Imade, Reportedly slumped and died while singing on the altar at Living Messiah Church in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The Incident happened on Sunday, March 17, 2024.

Details of the incident are still sketchy at the time of filing this report but it was gathered that Imade was rushed to Alero hospital in Owa, where she was confirmed dead by doctors on duty.

What Is Really Happening Inside This BAUCHI

The Madina Quarters community in Bauchi was thrown into mourning on Sunday as two children, Zainab Bashir Muhammad (Hibba) and Ummu Salma Bashir, aged 7 and 5, lost their lives in a house fire.

The incident was said to have occurred near Barden Gabas Primary School, close to Tirwun Quarters, within the Bauchi metropolis.

DAILY POST reports that the fire incident occurred just days after two persons lost their lives in a fire outbreak at Maraku village in Zubuki Ward, Itas/Gadau Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Eyewitnesses told our reporter that the fire outbreak started at about 11:00 am on Sunday.

According to reports, the children’s mother had locked inside the house while she went out, possibly to the market.

Unfortunately, the house caught fire before she came back.

DAILY POST gathered that attempts to rescue the children were futile due to the thick smoke and intensity of the flames.

Also, efforts by the state fire department, which visited the scene to contain the fire, were abortive.

However, details remain sketchy as to what led to the fire outbreak but a resident in the Madina Quarters, Usman Abdullahi (Dan Usmanu), who spoke with our reporter at the scene, said it was unusual for the mother to leave her children locked in the house.

Meanwhile, the children have been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.
