@topic

i used to get annoyed with people asking me dumb question but now, it just doesn't phase me anymore. sometimes its not only the black american and white view on africa but some africans as well especially the young ones born here. i've seen some young ones act like they are "all for africa" but act offended when they show african people dancing around the fire on tv or when they are speaking another language, or when they are bald headed (the females), and they start saying, "man, we don't that." i'm like sure we do, its nothing to be ashamed of. and they get offended with the animal questions. ain't nothing wrong with animals. animals are cool.

CultureRe: Ask An African-american A Question by naijadiva2(f): 7:09pm On Mar 17, 2008
EXPONENT:
From the CIA factbook

Nigeria
Population:
137,253,133
note: estimates for this country explicitly take into account the effects of excess mortality due to AIDS; this can result in lower life expectancy, higher infant mortality and death rates, lower population and growth rates, and changes in the distribution of population by age and sex than would otherwise be expected (July 2004 est.)

Life expectancy at birth:
total population: 50.49 years
male: 50.35 years
female: 50.63 years (2004 est.)
HIV/AIDS - adult prevalence rate:
5.8% (2001 est.)
HIV/AIDS - people living with HIV/AIDS:
3.5 million (2001 est.)
HIV/AIDS - deaths:
170,000 (2001 est.)

clean up your own yard before you attack another.
ok so posting this makes you feel so much better?  bravo. no one said that there's no AIDS in Nigeria. AIDS is everywhere.

hi,

do not use soap suds for shaving , you're a girl for christ's sake, find a shaving foam that has a moisturizer ,
it leaves the skin soft afterwards , otherwise apply a moisturiser immediately after shaving with shaving cream
and never use a shaving stick twice.

and believe me , no guy wants to have a hairy legged lady around him (we all want to distinguish between the man and the woman here).
the hair doesnt grow longer than before , trust me its just stories they tell so u don't look prettier than your fellow babe.

i use a shaving foam and it leaves your skin soooooo smoooth.

one advice to always look clean and free of any odour ALWAYS GET RID OF EVERYTHING CALLED HAIR AROUND YOU EXCEPT THE ONE ON TOP OF YOUR HEAD !!!!!! meaning shave everything bikini region , arm pit ,legs, use twizzers for your eye brows, good luck.
okay that's doing too much now.

FACTS ON NIGERIA

Fact all the Governors in Nigeria are Corrupt
Fact all the minister are Corrupt except the lady in Finance maybe
Fact our President is a thief
Fact our Vice President is a Thief
Fact there is 60% Unemployment in Nigeria
Fact Factory workers in Naija can be compared to sweat shop workers in China
Fact we are no longer the Giant of Africa only the Paper Tiger of West Africa
Fact 98% of Nigerian Men ages 18-30 will rather leave than stay and suffer if given the chance.
Fact our Military is corrupt
Fact our Customs is as corrupt as the Mob in the 1980's
Fact our Police share their rifles with armed robbers.
Fact Most of Nigeria does not have good roads, no light and many times no water.
Fact MTN, VMOBILE AND GLO all make you dial over and over to get through on their network.
Fact there is no railway service in Naija
Fact Nigerian Local Airlines are like playing Russian Roulette ask Gani
Fact most of the country survives from Hand to Mouth without any assurance of tomorrow.
Fact if you go a Public or Private Nigerian Hospital you are asked to pay even if you are dying

We have a continent with jokers and functional illiterates running around as leaders
We seem to forget that, Nigeria for instance, is more that 80% slum!

Conclusion or Thesis: Nigeria is a dying Country
even though you claim that nigeria is a dying country, you do not have to say all of that, you are just giving people more reason to talk trash about nigeria. it may not be america but people do live there and may be living a lot better than you and I.

What is up with you people and teaching your children to curse? that if your little daughter/ son comes home with "i have a BF", you guys smile and thinks its cute.

when i was waiting in the car for my mom to come out of the store, i saw this guy with 3 kids (2 gurls, 1 boy) and one of the girl was sad becuase she wanted a different candy or something like that. her dad saw her and was like, "what the f is wrong with you, would you f***ing talk" then the girl said something and he was like "why didn't you f***ing said something and was just cursing some more at the girl and she had to be 10 yrs. i couldn't believe it.

They could just sit there, roll their eyes and keep their opinions of what they seem to know about Africa to themselves.
that's true but there are ways in which you ask questions. like do lions roam the street? that is a dumb question. if they did, every one would be locked inside the house or dead on the street.
First off since we're "primitive" and "rough looking", why re you even on this site? What's wrong with black planet?
Secondly that statement you made about middle class sis quite the lie. Most are NOT middle class citizens, if by getting your church together to help you pray to win the visa lottery then having a donation party to pay for your ticket is what you consider "middle class", have fun with that because that's how some people leave Nigeria yet they still end up going to another country and do well.
Most third world country citizens ends up doing better in America than even some white people, what the hell is your excuse? Blah blah inner city schools, you should see some of the public schools in Nigeria before you go on to your sob-stories, yet that hasnt stopped most of us, nor has it stopped most immigrants who come here and excel so spare us

and Btw I'd sooner accept the title of yahooze than the reputation of being the most in jail despite being the minority in the country and also the fact that Father's Day is the most confusing day in the life of a black american.

Please go and sit down and let Lurker & hero answer our questions. Lunatic.
peach on sista.
