I went there for the summer some years ago and their mcdonalds menu is a little different from what we have up here in Dc/MD but someone told me that not all mcdonalds are the same. their menu goes with what the people of that region. *^{I know, off topic}*

that wouldn't be considered acting fake. i'm not talking about ordinary things. the poster of this thread wants to know why they create a false impression when they visit nigeria and some do. they make it seem like they are living the life when a lot of them are struggling a lot more than their family and friends back home.

they come already made but some people make their own as well. i know when i go to the jamaican resturant and you order their salads, they give you their homemade dressing which actually taste better than the store bought brand.

I eat nigerian food only because i have to eat whatever my parents cook but i don't have a problem with it though. American foods are very simple so sometimes they tend to lack flavor.

i like cookies and cream, vanilla beam, and strawberry shortcake.

i was surprised when he got eliminated. I actually thought that he would stay a little longer than that. and i can't stand the way they pronounce his name. he should have corrected them unless they "kept" forgeting how to pronounce it.

what are you talking about? i never compared life in the UK/US to Nigeria. I never said people are acting fake. my point is that people expect you to be rich once you live aboard and when they go back home to visit, they start acting a certain way and i have seen it with my own eyes.

there might be nigerians in your area but they tend to camoflage(not sure of spelling) with our nationality. sometimes you think you are seeing a black american, but they're nigerians, or they look like they are from the islands, they're nigerian, and sometimes(rarely) they look dominican/hispanic, but really they are nigerians. so they are there, you just have to look.

i guess its because those in nigeria are expecting them to be all that because they are living abroad. a lot of people that do go home do too much like getting nails done, buying expensive weave, buying an outfit that cost more than their weekly paycheck and talking with the fakest accent ever but do not have a really good job that pays them enough. i know when i went to nigeria with my brother and grandma this past winter, she was buying us all these nice clothes so that we can actually look like we came from america. Of course i didn't argue cuz that's free clothes for me but really i didn't care. I;m like, i'm not trying to impress no body. but of course, she was.

The truth is that most white americans think that they are better than black, spanish or Indian americans. Racism still go on in America. Plus most americans are lazy as hell. That is why most americans are obese.

i think a lot of americans are pressed to leave the country to go live in europe is because of the need for a change of environment. they don't want to go to africa because its too hot, they don't want to go to asia cuz is crowed, they don't want to go to south/central america because they don't speak spanish. they want something that's more close to their lifestyle and a lot of americans think that they europeans in general are more advance in technology, fashion and the likes.

i didn't know people actually watch that show.

A lot of people in Nigeria don't know many things that happen abroad. They assume that no bad thing happens abroad and that everything bad is Nigerian

that's true and not only nigeria but everywhere else. everyone doen't really know what goes on in other places until they actually visit the place and see for themselves.
