I am getting confused by the terminology here. What exactly is a flat? My understanding is a flat is a single living unit in a residential building. So a flat is located in a building with other flats sharing the same roof or walls. I am seeing people here calling a single living unit here a flat when in actual fact what they are describing is a bungalow. If the terminology in Nigeria has changed please enlighten me |
MEILYN: Yea, nice question, very nice. So what you are saying is, because christians dont believe in the reincarnation, that makes that chapter void?Their works follow them to the awakening when Christ comes again to judge the living and the dead There is resurrection but no reincarnation |
MEILYN: "The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem." (Ecclesiastes 1:1).<< the book was written by Solomon, he had much wisdom you know, so he understood these things.Dear Father, Holy Jesus.. we pray you open the eyes of those who see yet do not understand. False doctrines will come and go please protect us from those who speak and yet do not understand their own words, they take the scriptures and try and raise new and notably false meaning from the word of God, their only accomplishment is to mislead those who are not yet weaned from milk Amen |
christianity is in need of a reformer and reorientation
I concur, if it is not sinful music then it is sinful beliefs, false prophets and teachings but tell me what is new, false teachings, beliefs and false prophets are as old as christianity itself. Even in early times we could see conflict in the church, it is recorded in the bible to warn us So be warned! |
You can not vaccinate an animal against a disease it has already acquired you can only treat the disease or cull it if there is no known cure. As Nbg4real mentioned earlier you only vaccinate healthy birds, fact! Damage control should be swift and decisive when dealing with poultry otherwise you will lose your whole flock, please consult a vet ASAP or get rid of the clock and start afresh Nbg4real: no you vaccinate only healthy birds. Just give dm antibiotic and vitamins. |
whether you see them as african dance steps or songs....as long as they don't glorify God and tend towards promoting sexuality or immoral behaviours, creating special feelings for worldly desires, pleasures, and negative instincts, the simple name given to such is secular music/songs.
This is the statement you should have made earlier rather than condemning all music as satanic because they do not directly praise God. Remember God is Love, so anything that promotes Love (not sinful lust) is from God, don't get it twisted.. |
@Edwill Do get a vet ASAP. Instant advice and remedy if possible rather than speculating and sticking proverbial head in sand. It sounds like your layers are getting old if they are about 3 years old as you say and you should be thinking of replacing them soon if not now especially as they are possibly getting ill and you also want maximum egg production rather than gritting your teeth every morning and wondering if they will lay eggs |
@fnk The problem with broilers is that purchasers will always try their luck with you and want to buy your broilers for next to nothing. You have to be careful and do your sums well so you know what your cost price to maturity or point of sale is otherwise you will be running a charity business So I reiterate my point, do your research and to add to that, do your maths so you know what your break even point is. There is obviously a market for broilers otherwise there would never be any chicken for sale in the market or on the table. You must agree that it is difficult to assess the market in your area without any legwork and due diligence because there are several factors involved in each individuals business model and local environment. There are several factors involved and these have to be considered. For example if I can raise broilers cheaply but it costs me and arm and a leg to get them to the market it defeats the objective. |
Rant mode on>> The word is SECULAR not CIRCULAR OOOOOH! Nigerians and their poor English, Can't spell, can't compose a grammatically correct sentence, Can't understand lexicon and syntax but yet they call themselves 'graduates', educated etc Not to talk of the well know Legislator that uses all the biggest and nonsensical words he can muster in order to express himself, end result = GRAMMATICAL RUBBISH Please use a spellcheck or dictionary. The online dictionary is free! Please I am getting tired of seeing poor english, I will soon start a campaign. Just speak pidgin english make i no say u no sabi or at least hide behind pidgin, no be by force to talk grammar. Rant mode off>> |
Please tell me, how has the 2 year old been prophesying? Can he even talk? |
Dear OP and fellow readers, Please tell me what you think of the following verse She[a] 2 Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— for your love is more delightful than wine. 3 Pleasing is the fragrance of your perfumes; your name is like perfume poured out. No wonder the young women love you! 4 Take me away with you—let us hurry! Let the king bring me into his chambers. Friends We rejoice and delight in you[b]; we will praise your love more than wine. She Is this music satanic because I do not see a reference to God here, correct me if I'm mistaken By the way the correct word is secular not circular, if in doubt use a dictionary. |
cross234: Please am i just want to go into poultry farming but i want to first go into the local ones first so i need some to answer this little questions for meDear Cross234, These questions are all answered in the preceding posts. But I will suggest that if you are really interested in poultry farming, do your homework and take the time to go through this thread. That way you will get a good idea of the ups and downs of the business and will pick up useful tips that will save you a lot of money and headache in the long run. The average length of time to maturity or sale depends on the breed and the hatcheries will give you an idea of the different breeds and their characteristics, visit a local hatchery near to your intended location. They will also give you information on the different types of feed available The market for eggs is good but i think the market for broilers is seasonal and can be tough, read through the thread and see for yourself and also research your local market Best wishes and Good luck |
Another Nigerian in the headlines for less than honourable activities abroad. Come to think of it, he probably defrauded fellow Nigerians as well. Only a 3 year sentence so out in 18 months, some of the criminally minded will say not bad for that kind of return after travelling abroad to make fame and Ill-gotten fortune. £1.5 million (his share or what's left of it) and deported back to Nigeria soon after he completes his sentence I suppose, hit the streets of Lagos as a big boy and he's laughing.. A man has been jailed for nearly four years for his part in a phishing scam that targeted UK students to steal in excess of £1.5m. Olajide Onikoyi, 29, of Hexagon Close, Blackley, Manchester, was among a number of criminals who targeted students by sending them emails inviting them to update details on their student loan account via a link to a bogus website. When the site was accessed by the unsuspecting victims, Onikoyi was able to gain unauthorised access to their bank accounts and extract large amounts of money. Onikoyi laundered £393,000 from 238 victims in total, with one alone having £19,000 taken from their account. The scam was identified and Onikoyi was arrested following an operation by detectives from the now-disbanded Metropolitan police central e-crime unit. As part of their inquiries, detectives worked closely with the banking industry, internet service providers and Student Loans Company, which said it regularly put out warnings about such scams. http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/dec/14/man-jailed-phishing-scam-uk-students-olajide-onikoyi |
Model? Engine Size? Country of manufacture or specification? i.e. US or Europe Mileage? Previous service history? Any recorded faults or damage? Not enough information, is this how we buy cars in Nigeria? |
What is the benefit, real or perceived of publishing false results to make one state look bad over the other in the HIV 'stakes'? As fellow NLanders have pointed out there is no financial incentive to do so. Please try and reason before crying foul, lest you fall into the same category of people of dubious reasoning and logic who insist that 9/11 never happened, the holocaust was propaganda or HIV doesn't exist and if it does was caused by the white man. Anyone who understands medical statistics knows there are a variety of reasons for results such as these. Medical statistics in their raw form hardly have a political agenda but as we can see here can rapidly be politicised or tribalised. The medical world understands that the incidence of HIV is vastly under reported especially in countries like Nigeria where there is poor access to healthcare and ignorance among the masses. No one will ever know the true incidence of HIV unless we test everyone in Nigeria, an impossible feat. So we can only extrapolate. The true incidence of HIV in Nigeria is probably somewhere around 15% as has been seen in Rivers state where there is an active program of proactive testing and this 'high' figure is probably as a result of better access to tests rather than a reflection of promiscuity in the state so do not be deceived. There are areas of Nigeria concentrated in the large cities where promiscuity is at the same level of port Harcourt so do not be deceived and think that HIV prevalence is low in your area and you're therefore safe. The sexual habits of Nigerians cut across boundaries, ie promiscuity is everywhere. Location, religion and ethnicity have no major role to play in these statistics. The fact you're a Muslim or Christian does not protect you from HIV if you behave exactly the same way as the next person and have the same attitude to causal sex. The only protection from HIV is education, awareness and active protection. What we should take away from this report is that 1. HIV is everywhere so protect yourself 2. Better access to testing will lead to more cases being detected and is not necessarily political or a smear campaign. 3. Do not think that a low prevalence in your state is necessarily a good thing but ask whether people are really getting tested as they should 4. Know your status, get tested |

Ok that's good, I am trying to secure a plot in Lagos at the moment. In the Lekki area to be precise however all the plots I am interested in seem to have one issue or the other when I do a search at Alausa so fingers crossed. When the time eventually comes I will require your services Best wishes |
By the way Op what is your location? |
I prefer the twin duplex. I am just wondering how the twin duplex will fit into the land without it being too much of a squeeze Thats why i thought the bungalow might be better Thanks |
Hmm, there is a very thin line between 'flirting' on line and 'emotional infidelity' or non physical cheating |
Just because a pot calls a kettle black doesn't not take away the fact the kettle is still black |
Comment invited Are they any major disasters or achievements from this current set of leaders? or just a continuation of the old brigade of brigands and thieves.. |
Former Aviation minister and opposition member, Femi Fani-Kayode has called the Goodluck Jonathan administration one of the worst Nigeria has ever seen. He made the remarks in Illorin yesterdayafter attending a remembrance for the late politician, Dr. Sola Saraki. He said: “My views are clearly well known about President Jonathan’s administration. There is no point in inflaming passion. They are very sensitive. If you say anything negative about them, they get upset and begin to haul abuses. read more http://www.theheraldng.com/jonathans-administration-worst-nigeria-ever-seen-femi-fani-kayode/ |
@OP Do you have any ideas for a 50ft x 100ft plot Rectangular shape, 50ft wide and 100ft deep and on level ground. i am considering a bungalow or a twin duplex town house and i want to maximise space but have adequate provision for parking and some recreational space at the rear Thanks |
@Money121 of BATLAN Roof Please please please stop clogging up threads all over nairaland with your long adverts and series of pictures taking up so much space and bandwidth not to talk of consuming everyones data. Every thread i look you are there with the same post and it is annoying Feel free to advertise as the thread permits but tone it down a single paragraph and a collaged picture is much more pleasing on the eye, more professional and i might just consider your products in future rather than considering you an irritation Moderator please help! |
Points to note 1. When Jesus needed to get to the other side of the sea of Galilee, he didn't buy a boat with all mod cons (modern conveniences to those that don't know) made of the most expensive materials and laid out with the finest bedding, lavish food and drink etc which is what we see in the sea going vessels of the super rich which are in reality status symbols. he could have but he didn't. 2. When Jesus Christ wanted to go to Jerusalem, he didn't buy a golden chariot pulled by 12 white horses and dress in robes fit for a king. He didn't have a horde of well armed body guards and courtiers to attend to his every want and whim. The simple reason is if Jesus had portrayed himself in the earthly ways of a King i.e. untold riches, expense clothes etc his message would have been limited and very soon corrupted. It would have been the wrong kind of message and encourage humans greed rather than human salvation. The vast majority of us on earth would not understand that he wants he us build up our riches in heaven rather than on earth. Several people feel that it is ok for a human on earth under the auspices of religion to acquire or control vast wealth. Is this really right when there are members of your congregation who are hungry and suffering? They follow you blindly and listen to your promises that yes their own wealth is coming, they are being misled. You should teach us to strive for heavenly perfection not earthly accumulation of wealth. ..just my humble opinion |
Dear fellow Nairalanders, What do you think? Listen to some people on the streets? Link to video below http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eXEkKmlzDpk |
No one is complaining, if you don't like the thread, leave and go somewhere else. People who visit this thread do so for inspiration and also to see comments by others on designs and concepts and the OP himself to get feedback, can you do that on a standalone website? I think not. I personally dislike threads full of links to only the good Lord knows where. So please carry on OP.. |
Dear OP, Please beware of these so called 'estates' dotted all over Lekki and its immediate environs. They have been known to collect your money and sometimes never deliver, giving a variety of excuses such as awaiting planning permission, problems with omonile or as they simply run out of funds due to lack of subscribers, problems with lands, investors or banks or whatever the case may be. Visit the estate yourself and talk to people who have paid and collected their keys and make sure you're satisfied with their track record first. Too many fraudsters exist in the property markets as several threads on nairaland will show you. Visit the estate, are they building? are people living there? who are the backers? have they got a track record of delivering on time? Even in genuine estates there is still no guarantee they will deliver in the allotted time period so be prepared if you do go ahead. Estates are more expensive but they have the attraction of security and good infrastructure. Best wishes NJF |
Jeez OP, Can you repost this after you have formatted it for a better reading experience Thanks |
