Politics / Re: My Question For Ikwerre, Epkeye And Anioma Groups. by naijaking1: 5:04am On Aug 12, 2020
kollinzgee:
I am not here to a force Igbo identity on any group of people as it is normally done here in nairaland I believe every human being has the right to choose their identity.i am from etchie local government in rivers state throughout my childhood I was told I am not Igbo which I believed, but as I grew up to become an adult I decided to put sentiment aside and face reality.it all started when I gained admission into yabatech in Lagos ,at one time it became mandatory to join a cultural group in school that relates to your ethnic group at first I was confused then I asked myself should I join Yoruba,Igbo or Hausa group in school of course I naturally joined the Igbo group since we are related which I believe a decision I believe any one in my shoes will naturally make.

As time went on we had meetings every weekends we contribute money it was more like a club.i took it serious because because we always have this feast at the end of every semester since I naturally love food I never miss any . grin grin.
Through my stay in that meeting I realised something, we are not different from this Igbo people the infact we are a part of the Igbo race.

There is this popular belief in my family that we etches and Ikwerre migrated from Benin i have always believed this ideology until I was opportuned to read an old history book written by our colonial masters in the library , I learned a lot about igbos .do you know Igbos once had tribal marks just like that of yorubas?do you know Igbos were the most difficult ethnic group to be colonised by British the resistance was bloody the stubbornness we still maintain till this day .

I have some questions and I stand to be corrected...

(1)My fellow rivers brothers if we are different from Igbos why do we bear the same names with them?why do our towns and cities bear Igbo names I guess these towns and villahes have being named thousands of years ago before our generation.

(2)is there any ethnic group in the world that bears the same name with its land,in Yorubaland where i was raised there is no place called Yoruba in Yorubaland. There is no place in hausa in hausaland.how come every Igbo speaking group outside the southeast bears the same name with its land? Etche ethnic group in etche local government, ika local government is ika people,Ikwerre local government is Ikwerres people it's so confusing and never seen before.

3) as a learned person if you ask me to define an ethnic group (tribe) I would tell you an ethnic group is a group of people who have similar language, name ,culture, food etc and it must be different from all other groups.how come we have almost 80% similarity with Igbos but we want to be different from them doesn't that confuse you.

(4)where is our Benin heritage?i had Benin friends when I was in school I can bet you there is no single similarity in our languages and style,How come there is no single Benin heritage left in our culture and language .did our ancestors develop amnesia? If it's true our Igbos influenced our culture and language how come the ogonis and ijaws in Kalabari did not adopt Igbo language despite how tiny they are?

Truth and common sense over sentiments anytime and anydaye, I am not a minority ethnic group I am Igbo the rest of can deny your Identity i am not part of you.

Ask any of your elders:

1. Why was PH under Owerrii county in the 40s and 50s
2. Before oil was discovered, where did your elders go for employment. Why did they classify themselves as Igbos before the civil war.
3. Most important, ask them what Obigbo means in Benin.
4. Then ask them if they benefitted from the abandoned property stolen from inland Igbos. If they say yes, then you will understand their guilty conscience dissociation from Igbos that began immediately Biafra was defeated.

Oh, BTW, you will get many distractions from Yoruba folks who think their only mission in life is to remind Eastern Nigerian minority groups that they are not Igbos----and for their own selfish reasons too.

olaajilaran:
Hello doctors in the house, for a while now, my sister has been complaining of pain in her toe,
Initially I suspected it was "Athlete foot disease", she applied Some topical creams and the pain disappeared.

Not long ago, she started complaining of the pain again and it was worse than before. The pain was excruciating, most times, my sister wakes up crying

Doctors and pharmacists in the house, kindly help me check this out, pictures are attached below. The toe is also swollen. Help me diagnosis and effective medications please.

(PS: I still suspect it's Athlete foot disease or Onychomycosis, but I need better knowledge from the doctors in the house. Thank you)

I promised to stop offering medical advice here, but for the sake of your sister having severe pain, I have to simply tell you that it is not a fungal infection. Fungal infections don't cause severe pain!
Another source of concern is that you didn't say anything about trauma to get toe.
If it's bacterial infection, there will be swelling, but there's no relative edema compared to other digits.

So, and unfortunately, I'm sorry to tell you that she may have ungal melanoma, which is very deadly. Please take her to doctor quickly so that they can rule out metastasises. Good luck.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Will Not Change Until Everyone Starts To Pay Tax by naijaking1: 3:20am On Aug 05, 2020
AristocraticMe:
I will try and make this very short..... This is an open discussion though.

The reason Nigerians are complacent about the situation of Nigeria is because 60-70% of Nigerians dont pay tax. Why ? Most Nigerians are business people, the higher percentage are the small scale businesses...... How many of them pay tax.... NONE......

If you pay tax and you know that it is your money (tax) a person is embezzling without regards, no body will tell you to protest and revolt. They wont even try it.

That is one thing the developed nation did that we failed to do. We failed to create a system where by everybody contribute to the growth of the country. By so doing you will naturally hold any leader responsible.... You know how hard you work for your money then the government takes some percentage as tax on automatically and then one person embezzles it........ No body will tell you to stand for your right and no leader will try it.

Nigerian just keep shouting OUR MONEY ( What they mean is Oil Money or Money coming from Natural Resources) not money coming from your pocket........ If it is coming from pocket (Income) then the way Nigerian leaders siphon money wont happen like that. They will be scared to do that because they know people will hold them accountable for it.

Most Nigerians are in one social club or the other were we pay monthly dues..... during the end of the year party, the leader should come out and say they bought a crate of soft drink for N10,000 ...... Can they say that ? No..... they know people will revolt and it will cause problem...... Why ? because everybody has a stake in the club's money (it is our money) so naturally corruption will reduce .....

Secondly, people will naturally want to know how the money is spent and make sure it make sense or else the leader of the social club have some explaining to do........

Corruption cannot be eradicated but it can be reduced..

That is why corruption in Developed Nations is not as it is in Africa. Remember there is corruption everywhere but not as bad as Africa or Nigeria

In Nigeria a Leader came out and said her ministry feed children who are out of school with hundreds of million - How ?
In Lagos a Leader said a corona virus patient care cost is 1 Million per day and so on...

No wonder a British Prime Minister once said Nigeria is Stupendiously corrupt.......

The wisest counsel to heal Nigeria's problems.
Our founding fathers were poor students of sociology and psychology, that's why working for government in Nigeria means an opportunity to rob the system (yourself included ) dry.
Whether we pay formal taxes or through VAT, corruptions, ineptitude, embezzlement, etc is a not even the case, the case is that Nigerians, every adult is not taxed in a way for them to take ownership of their own country. Unfortunately, we discovered oil, or what the Venezuelans call devil's grease of corruption, and every thing went from bad to worse.

A fair taxing system will reduce and probably eliminate corruption, because if that 1 billion naira you're going to embezzle came directly off the pockets of your home people who would eagerly waiting for you with sharp objects when you come home to display your ill gotten wealth. But when steal the amount from Abuja oil money and run home to your village, instead of them asking you, "my son, how did you make this money" they fall for the old notion that government is national cake deserving to looted, and that you have indeed gotten their own share. On the contrary, imagine stealing #10,000 contributed by your poor folks at home at #100 a person!

Another benefit of measured taxation is that it will once and for all solve the problem of proper census , and this probably why it will never happen at least under the present dispensation. If every adult in a village pay #1 tax a year, it will automatically help with census estimation and planning.

A formal tax will also reduce the need for many underground levies currently in place of which the corrupt government is going to fail to give a full account of.

This is fake news.

Fake news, because there are no bandit Fulani herdsmen terrorizing Nigeria?
Because El Rufai didn't say he paid them 100M naira?
Or, because the criminals are not streaming into Nigeria at a time when the nation's boarders were supposed to be closed?
It's fake news, because the Buhari army and police are not aiding and abetting these criminals?

Which one of these is fake news?

I don't which is why am trying to verify that he truly wrote this. Nuhu is a fellow Fulani.

I agree, it may or may not be the same Nuhu Ribadu, but there are very well known points in the article that make it easy to connect the lines.

1. Northern emirs have said many times that the bandits are not Nigerians, and indeed many of them don't speak English, Hausa, or even Fulani
2. We know that Miyatti Allah demanded 150 B naira to take care of the problem, but was paid a paltry 100B naira
3. We know that El Rufai has stated that he paid the killers 100M naira 'to stop killing'
4. We know that yes, the army and the police have been protecting these bandits no matter what crimes they commit.

The evidence is simply overwhelming for this to be another conspiracy theory.

Politics / Origin Of Banditry And Murderous Fulani Herdsmen- Nuhu Ribadu by naijaking1: 12:03am On Jun 18, 2020
Bandits”” were created by Gen Mohammadu Buhari Rtd to oust Jonathan
Bandits are not Boko Haram nor Herdsmen

It all started in April 2014 when Mohammadu Buhari assembled his ardent supporters, promoters and strategists to determine how to remove President Jonathan Goodluck. Prominent amongst them were El-Rufai, Gen Danbazo (Rtd)……..

A decision was reached to consult Miyatti Allah cattle breeders association for assistance to boot Jonathan Goodluck out of office. Consequently, the National Chairman of Miyatti Allah was engaged to bring in foreign mercenaries. Within a month, 2,000 Fulani fighters were brought in from Mali, Senegal, Niger Republic, Chad, Libya to name but a few. Further 4,000 fighters were stationed in Niger and Chad on standby.

On arrival, they were assembled in Kaduna under the sponsorship of El Rufai and were addressed by various Northern Leaders including the Sultan of Sokoto, Gen. Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar (Rtd) etc.

Specifically, Gen Buhari in his address told the fighters that “the British handed Nigeria over to us the Fulanis at independence. The land (Nigeria) belongs to us. We must reclaim what belongs to us.”He added that at the event that Jonathan Goodluck worn the election, the Fulani machinery must fight until they regain control of the country. He assured them that the Nigerian Army was behind them.

The mercenaries received initial training from the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy and were sent to 6 camps in Ekiti State, Benue State, Katsina State, Kaduna State, Zamfara State and Borno State.

In the camps, brand new pick-up trucks, generators etc were provided them. Nigerian Airforce helicopters were used to provide them essential supplies like food, water, drinks and even arms and ammunitions.

Evidently, Jonathan Goodluck lost the election in 2015 through a well orchestrated election organised by INEC under a Fulani Chairman, Professor Jega. Gen Buhari (Rtd) was sworn in as the president. This saw the emergence of a Fulani president through a dodgy election hence the planned violent war was averted.

Contrary to expectation, the mercenaries in the various camps were abandoned, no more food and essential supplies. The relationship between Miyatti Allah, El Rufai (now a State Governor) and Dambazo broke down. El Rufai arrogantly declared that they were not needed anymore and they should go back. Consequently, the killings in Kaduna commenced as a warning to El Rufai but it did not bother him. He declared that he had paid the people carrying out the killings and they did not want to stop. The Nigerian police did not bother to call Gov El Rufai to give further clarification on this.

The Mercenary at the various camps decided to go about to find food for themselves by robbing people, going into farm lands and kidnapping. Miyatti Allah made several efforts to contact El Rufai and Dambazzo to appeal to them to provide money to return these fighters to where they came from. All efforts proved abortive. The mercenaries at this point vacated their organised camps and took to crime.

The criminal gangs which emanated from these mercenaries were at this point described as “Bandits” in order to differentiate them from other notorious terrorist groups like Fulani Herdsmen, Boko Haram etc.

Following the untold destruction and killings which the Bandits carried out especially in Katsina and Zamfara, the Northern leaders in conjunction with officials of Nigerian Government requested Miyatti Allah to intervene and remove the Bandits from Nigeria.. Miyatti Allah returned demanding 150 Billion Naira to settle the Bandits and evacuate them. The Government turned the offer down and restricted itself to the payment of 100 Billion Naira.

Shamefully Godwin Emefiele raised 100 Billion Naira for the settlement as a condition for his re-appointment as the Central bank Governor.

Miyatti Allah collected the money and purportedly distributed it but nothing changed.

In a bid to control the damage, President Buhari directed that RUGA initiative be setup to create colonies for these fighters in every state in Nigeria.

My questions are:
1. Should Nigerian communities accommodate these criminal elements?
2. Why has El Rufai not been called to clean up the mess he created?
3. Does this explain the President Buhari’s silence?
4.Is this conspiracy of the North gone wrong?
Nigerians think for yourselves?

It would be very interesting to see how the supreme court rules on this matter. What legal argument is there for the government to sponsor your pilgrimage? What's crazier is they subsidize dollars at lower rates for pilgrams. Your trip to Mecca should be your business. If these programs are gone maybe they'll focus on developmental projects.

Why don't we fight back when small 11 year old girls are stolen by 89 year old Fulani emirs as wives?
Why don't we fight back when Christians are murdered in church, and their killers released after a few months in custody, because they have "repented"
