A 58-year-old man was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 20-year-old man in #Nnewi, #AnambraState.

According to Police spokesman, Haruna Mohammed, the suspect said it was intended for money rituals.

According to him: “On the 8/4/2020 at about 1pm, following a tip-off, police operatives attached to Nnewi Division arrested one Josephat Unachukwu .

The suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge against the order of nature with a 20-year-old man to prepare charms allegedly given to him by a fetish priest for money rituals.

The case was reported to the police when the victim started exhibiting strange ailment. Suspect has equally made a voluntary confessional statement to the police and blamed his act on demons.

Meanwhile,victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination. The Commissioner of Police, John B. Abang, has ordered for immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal investigation Department for discreet investigation in order to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident.”

Abia Police Commissioner, CP Ene Okon, has confirmed the death of a native doctor who reportedly committed suicide near his shrine located at the back of his house.

Okon said that the deceased identified as Onyeonoziri Friday was said to have committed suicide in front of “his juju shrine”.

It was learnt that the incident took members of his family by surprise as they never anticipated such and the deceased didn’t leave behind any message stating why he decided to his life.

The native doctor, according to findings, resides at Ukpakiri village in Amaise autonomous community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

The deceased, in his late thirties, was said to have hanged himself while his pregnant wife and son were sleeping inside their house.

While the reason for his action was attributed to his persistent sickness, others linked it to frustration.

Unconfirmed reports have it that the deceased has been acting strangely in the past two weeks, which they suspected could be caused by depression but has been under the watch of members of the family.

A source, in the area who gave her name as Ogadinma Nwachukwu, said:

“It was this morning that we started hearing cries from his house and when we all gathered, we discovered that our brother, whom we all sat yesterday with is gone.

“When we asked the wife, she said that the husband told her that he was going to pass the night at Ntighauzor. After that, she went inside the house while the husband told her that he wants to leave his machine behind the house.

“According to her, she came out in the morning, only to see the corpse of the husband dangling on a tree behind their house.”

The wife, who was full of emotion, said that she can’t remember her husband having any misunderstanding with anyone.

She said that she only came out in the morning to see that her husband had committed suicide.

According to the wife, the deceased has been suffering from one illness to the other and has performed all the necessary rituals that he was asked to carry out because of his sicknesses.

A source in Aba Area Command, who spoke on the issue anonymously, said that police had already begun investigation into the matter in order to ascertain if there is a foul play.

The Lagos state police command have arrested a suspected ruitualist, 30-year-old Dona Asogba, pictured above, in the Ikorodu area of the state.

A statement released by the police command spokesperson, Bala Elkana on Sunday April 5, says the suspect was arrested after residents of Panuse area, Okoafo in Ikorodu reported at Morogbo Police Station that Asogbo and his alleged accomplice, Peter Alogbo who is currently at large, have turned an uncompleted building in the community into a rituals’ den and that their activities has instil fear and panic in the community.

Bala said a team of Police officers led by the Divisional Police Officer visited the scene. Items found in the uncompleted building include a mini size wooden coffin and all sorts of fetish items in their shrine.

The police spokesperson said Investigation is ongoing while efforts are being made to arrest the fleeing accomplice.

A Police officer has been arrested for assaulting a ports worker who was picking up his friend who works with a medical equipment company in Lagos.

Recall that President Buhari who issued a lockdown order in Lagos, Ogun state and Abuja, stated that seaports in Lagos shall remain operational. Hospitals and all related medical establishments as well as organizations in health care related manufacturing and distribution were also exempted from the lockdown order.

Nigerian veteran rapper, Ruggedman alerted the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) of the assault incident on Twitter. He identified the police officer as M. Aliu and further disclosed that he was assaulting a ports worker at Area M command, Idimu.

The trial of Ismaila Mustapha aka Mompha continued today, March 18, 2020 before Justice A. Mohammed Liman of a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos as a prosecution witness told the court that Mompha did not remit tax to the Federal Government for a period of seven months while his company was already in existence.
