@suzwriter From reading your post it sounds like you have been affected/influenced into this perseption as a result of your surroundings. I don't need to ask you to post your pic because am a true believer that everyone is beautiful simply because it comes from within. First step is to acknowledge that you have a problem --- which you have done. Second; identify when it started? you may not be able to pick out a moment but you will be able to identify a period in you life when your thinking evolved. quetions like these could help you dig deeper: do you have brothers? if you do, what do they talk about? Do you have guy friends? If you do what do they talk about? first of all what are your friends like? do they have boyfriends? if they don't, why? Have you had a serious relationship with a boy? Third; you understand your problem and take hold of it mentally and then begin to brainwash it. Do not wait for anyone to tell you how beautiful you are or commend you in anyway rather begin to do that to yourself. Look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself what you want to hear. When you walking on the street hold your head up high and look ahead of you with only positive thoughts in your head. when you talk to guys; take more interest in their lives and don't focus too much on your's. Let you light shine girl cos you've got it babes if you want me to I can call you. |

@topic I don't think flirtation can be a course that can be taught. It is not taught in nursing school as am thinking nursing is for assisting in saving lives. I have always wondered why there is a higher chemical current in hospitals. Why is there such a high level of pheromone in hospitals? can anyone answer this question please? I have never felt any chemistry in hospitals but rather am repulsed. |

@Gamine ![]()
NaJa HaJe Need i remind you that the bible never directly mentions smoking but there are principles, however, that definitely apply to smoking. First, the Bible commands us to not allow our bodies to become "mastered" by anything. 1 Corinthians 6:12:::: "Everything is permissible for me" - but not everything is beneficial """"""Everything is permissible for me" - but I will not be mastered by anything""". . . . . . which leads me to believe that smoking is most def. a sin! but westerners and many others do believe that smoking would calm their nerves, so its not a sin, i don't blame them, thats what they believe
my debate was that it was not stated any where in the bible that smoking is a sin. Having said that; smoking is not beneficial to the body rather it deteriorates the perfect work of the Creator (GOD). I am not going to go around saying smoking is a sin. But rather if something does not benefit you then why do it? Hence why I like this quote; tkb417:You all need to understand that people have been smoking since time immemorial. It has simply evolved into refined little sticks. why didn't it make into the bible? @tkb417 u never replied ma mail. ![]() |
Gamine:this is what you said Gamine: Not possible |
The bible was making a reference to fornication.
So if it was just a reference, is fornication a sin? All in all I try not to think what is a sin or what is not. Its more like what make HIM happy with me and me happy with HIM. Christianity to me is like a relationship between lovers. If i feel, think or know that something would hurt HIM then there's no need to go ahead with it. Simple. Smoking does not add to my life in any way shape or form. I have smoked various things and nothing was profitting. Am not going to look down on anyone because they smoke. Thats hypocrisy. we all have skeletons. |
I think it originates from the colonial days. African were trying to incoporate the English language with thier various dialects and so spoke 'english' by feelings and sound and also what it would mean if an english sentence were translated into thier language. Pidgin English means broken english ---- this may mean language that is spoken with more nouns than anything else. ![]() |
Same goes for GMF, soda,sodium we consume everyday. I am tired of so many Nigerian christians that translate the bible from their own perspective. Some will swear by their God in heaven that drinking alcohol constitutes a sin when the bible clearly states that it's only sinful when you abuse it. And, where in the bible did the body disrespect come in? that means that those that rarely wash themselves because they can't afford water or soap or toothpaste are offending God?
I still stand by my word: Smoking is not a sin For the life of me i can't remember where in the bible but there is this bit that says your body is the temple of the living God and you should not misuse it or something like that. It may not have used the word disrespect but it was clearly implied. |
Is smoking a sin? and I didn't see where the bible wrote the only in the event part. Don't add your common sense to the bible abeg.
Smoking is not a sin. What it does to your body is disrespect to its creator. It is an insult to have disregard for the beauty of His work. A smoker is basically taking the p*ss with their body. @Gamine Defining a 'proper Christian' by his/her smoking habits is very wrong. Every Christian is coming some sort of sin. Because its not out in the open does not mean they are proper Christians. |
Thanks AJ
The tobacco stench gives me sleeze balls tho.
so what does this mean? my apologies if they sound like silly questions |
