Fintiri is Marghi by tribe, it is more a less a mixed ethnic group comprising of both religion but mostly Christians. That's why they aren't comfortable with him.

Yes he is a Muslim but a liberal one. Even the current governor didn't have it rosy because he is not a complete "Fulani". The Fulani's in Adamawa consider other tribes as second class citizens in Adamawa state. Fintiri won the hearts of the people during his stint as acting governor of the state when Nyako was impeached. Within three months in office, he was able to pay off several months of salaries been owed civil servants by Nyako. You know Adamawa state is a "civil servants" state.
Thank you, guy......

He promise to run an inclusive government. I think he might appointment a Fulani as the secretary to the state government, that would go a long way to build trust. Just a three months stint as acting governor made a the peoples choice. If all our politicians will maximize the mandate given to them by the electorates
Which ethnic group is he from?

He is also a muslim
Politics › Re: Yari Heads To Supreme Court Over Zamfara APC Governorship Primary by nameo: 6:20pm On Mar 26, 2019
APC will lose this case once it gets to Supreme Court.

The point of contention in law is clear.

It is unfortunate (for the people of Zamfara) but that is how it is.

I also expect the runner ups in the election to apply to join the case as interested parties.

Politics › Re: The implications of APC Governorship Primary nullification in Zamfara by nameo: 11:58am On Mar 26, 2019
freeze001:
Why though?
Cos the votes of the majority of people would not then be respected.

Think of it: if the Supreme court upholds this judgement, PDP and other parties who were runner ups would be sworn in as winners. But those are not who the majority of people in Zamfara wanted and voted for. I have a problem with that.

Also, the very idea of restricting an entire party from participating in an election and hence restricting the choice of people to only a few(or in this case) practically one choice, is also troubling for me.

But I understand the courts. They are right, legally speaking. APC didnt follow their own laid down rules and the electoral law, and there would be consequences for breaking the law. The law is blind in that respect.

The good side tho is that hopefully political parties and politicians would be more circumspect and would always be careful to following the law going forward. The law is the basis for civilization and predictability.

It's not automatic
It is automatic.

Very clear....... if the Supreme court upholds this judement, all votes to APC are invalid and so the 2nd runner up candidates will be sworn in as winner.

That is it

The idea of a rerun is preposterous cos whether the election is held again, APC cannot participate if the judgement is upheld.

Let me say why this is the law, I kinda have a personal problem with it based on principle

PDP is still leading in kano with 1200 votes. Remaining two local govt. Nasarawa and kibiya. The Independent National Electoral Commission halted the collation of the supplementary governorship election in Kano State on Saturday as the results from two local governments failed to arrive.
The councils are Nasarawa and Kibiya.
INEC said the collation will resume at 8am on Sunday.
Results from 21 local councils have been collated already and it saw the incumbent Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of the All Progressives Congress shrinking the 26,655 votes gap between him and his challenger, Abba Kabir-Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The votes from Nasarawa is expected to decide the winner of the election.
The PDP complained that its supporters were chased by armed thugs in some of the areas where voting took place.
But the APC and the police said the election was peaceful in many areas.

I wholeheartedly support all these (except perhaps for ascribing a particular type of clothing for civil servants everyday).

The Yorubas has one of the most sophisticated cultures not just in africa but the world. Form the poetic language; to its Ifa system; to its Orikis or poetry; its unique music e.g talking drums; its drama; its great art works, from the great cavings of the 1800s to the highly sophisticated and ancient works of Ife and Iwo(most Nigerians dont know about that "Tada man"- a work that is one of the most accomplished undertaking, not just in the art category, ever undertaking by Man: a complicated naturalist full figure casted in Pure COPPER, An almost impossible feat).

I will so go and see this if such a centre is opened anywhere in Yoruba land.

And perhaps other areas in Nigeria can follow suit
