Nothing actually wrong with "ISLAMIC BANKING", its a choice!
You can bank there if you want or bank elsewhere.
It is a PRIVATE ENTERPRISE, like Zenith Bank or GTBank or Unity Bank.

THE CONCERN OF MOST PEEPS AS L HAVE OBSERVED are:

1.) The Current CBN Guvnor is a MUSLIM

2.)That the CBN Guvnor (who is a national asset), is the one championing the establishment such bank!

3.) By the purpose of his office, he is supposed to be an unbiased "supervisor/umpire" and should have NO VESTED INTEREST IN ANY BANK

4.) There is currently a "perceived atmosphere" of DOUBLE STANDARDS in the way the past Banking verification exercise was carried out (with Sanusi rushing to the press to condemn some banks (which caused a "further run" on their liquidity), right in the middle of the exercise, when a NORTHERN BANK, i.e. Unity Bank, has not even been Audited!). By doing so, he gave them (the unaudited ones) an undue advantage!

5.) It was observed that Sanusi allowed Unity Bank to recapitalize BY ITSELF (by giving them the time and opportunity) but denied the same leverage, to other Banks owned by Southerners who are predominantly Christian. He hurriedly replaced their Southern CEO's (Now, we must not loose sight of the fact that all CEO's are greedy and criminal to some extent, (having worked as a banker for many years, l know this inside stories) but the likes of Cecielia Ibru took corruption to "the next level" and there were many like her. The removal of such "cancers"are welcomed as long as it is done fairly and without ulterior motives (you know now, we can use one stone to kill two birds! )

6.) Sanusi, as CBN Guvnor is alleged to be nursing a "Northernization of Nigerian Banks (Majority of which are owned and developed by Southerners) by using the current global recession and attendant liquidity squeeze/bank insolvency as an excuse, to remove the Southern Owners of such banks and injecting a LARGE PERCENTAGE of NORTHERNERS into their Executive Boards/CEO

7.)The jury is still out as to whether our banks have become stronger or weaker, since Sanusi assumed the CBN Guvnorship or whether the value of the Naira at the exchange market has improved (1Euro = #225, $1 = #155, 1GBP = #256! as of today, Four years ago when Soludo left, it was 156, 125, 220 respectively). You can make or draw your own conclusions, from facts!

Now, with what l have itemized above, the question therefore is:
Do you think Nigerians (especially Christians and Southerners) have a genuine reason to be apprehensive of this current CBN Guvnor, who by the way, studied NOT Banking & Finance, Economics or Accountancy or any numerate core course for that matter, but is a graduate of ISLAMIC STUDIES!
I respect Sanusi as a person and this is not about personality but about policies.

And for the sake of FULL DISCLOSURE (which l think every one commenting on issues that have a tint of Religion/Geographical Spread should do, so we can properly situate their comments, instead of pretending) I am a Southerner and a Christian).
Though as you would have observed, l do not judge "his person" but l am concerned with his "Actions and In-actions".

BTW: If you cannot muster or do not have "points/facts" to argue with, dont express your shallowness or ignorance by swearing profanities or insulting anyone here, it does not make make you appear intelligent nor aggressive, l am just appealing to your "gentlemanly-ness"
