NIGERIA, DISRUPTIVE INNOVATION AND THE FUTURE. I was having a chat with someone this morning and he wasn't too kind with Senator Ben Bruce for taking some positions as regards a shift from our over-reliance on crude oil to a more futuristic renewable energy. The whole world is moving away from crude oil but our leaders are so fixated on it. It is even more worrisome that this present Government is spending billions looking for non-existent crude in the chad basin. The Swedish car giant Volvo ( now owned by geely, a Chinese firm), expects electric cars to make up 50 percent of its global sale. Other car manufacturers are even more aggressive by rolling out electric models like the Nissan's 'Leaf' and the Toyota's, 'Prius', not forgetting Tesla that has already rolled out several models of electric cars and are clearly blazing a trail of innovation. It is things like this that gets me worried-the lethargy of the Nigerian government in seeing the proverbial hand writing on the wall. My friend whom i mentioned aboved is still ensconced in a cocoon of false security and cannot see the swinging pendulum. He believes petrol-powered cars will remain forever and car manufacturers will keep producing such cars. Senator Ben Bruce is thinking futuristic and i love that. Most Nigerian leaders and strategists are not fluid enough. The business world is dynamic and changing fast. Businesses needs to be fluid enough to adjust and change quickly. Disruptive innovation is quickly changing the topography of the business world. That is what is coming in the horizon and Bruce has seen it. Many business has become obsolete as a result of innovations that were disruptive. We can remember the days of VHS video players, VCDs, typewriters, floppy disk,CD Roms etc. They have all been overtaken, and a big one is coming in the horizon -electric cars! One of the things that did RIM(Blackberry) and nokia in was that they weren't fluid enough to notice the change and adapt to it and they suffered for it by losing their market share. Samsung, infinix and tecno saw the direction and followed it .Nigeria is so reliant on crude oil and it doesn't portend good for this nation. |
utenwuson:When the whole world move away from manufacturing petrol powered cars, then i wonder which manufacturing company will still have the gumption to produce your cars, and even if some third party folks decide to go into production of parts, its gonna be so damn expensive. Recently, Volvo said they will soon stop manufacturing patrol powered cars. Other car companies are scrambling to get a foothold of the market. Ben is thinking futuristic and i love that man. Most Nigerian leaders and strategists are not fluid enough. The business world is dynamic and changing fast. Businesses needs to be fluid enough to adjust and change quickly. Read up on disruptive innovation. That is what is coming in the horizon and Bruce has seen it. One of the things did RIM(Blackberry) and nokia was that they weren't fluid enough to notice the change and adapt to it and they suffered for it by losing their market share.Samsung and even infinix and tecno saw the direction and followed it. I can go on to specifics but i don't have all that time. |
utenwuson:Those are noble drives and you wont understand the dynamics until several decades from now. Other counties are going green, we are depending on oil. It will become irrelevant soon and Nigeria will be in a sorry state |
Acidosis:At op, i don't really have time to say much because this bro here has said my mind. Get ur certificate and do what u know best Dont mind the idio ts telling you school is scam. Look at our political class, those who didn't do any schooling are regretting and employing 32 SANS TO defend them bubu comes to mind |
charliboy654:Lol. I fear the guy |
bjt:Pls kindly look for that picture and repost here ![]() |
Deepfeel:Exactly. Nairaland youth don't read wide but be forming expert. Imagine in another thread, someone was wondering how i was able to read a lengthy post and quickly deduced i was jobless. Smh |
saasala:. For your information, i do have a job. And i resigned just yesterday from the other firm where i function as a consultant so i can focus on my PhD. Its rather unfortunate that most Nigerian youth dont read. Its truly horrible. No wonder they are where they are. Someone once said, to hide something from a black man, put in a book. I know this my lengthy post will be tiring for you to read. Smh |
Something is not adding up in this story. Didn't she do a bvn? Wasn't her picture on the mandate in the said bank? Somebody is not telling the truth. This calls for forensic investigation and if the woman is right, her balance should be restored by the bank and compensstion paid for her incarceration. |
Dikimo:If truly you had nothing to hide, then you would have mentioned initially that your services are free and quit mentioning the book( i know you are planning on selling it) Mr reasonable and intelligent, i have no grouse with you.. You make me laugh when you say you want to help people. You are out for business, which is not wrong but you must prove you are competent and eminently quality, that's all. Not some fake ass imp bent on ripping people who are having fertility challenges. Maybe i should invite some of the mods here. I won't dignify you with a response anymore as this will suffice. |
Godoverevery:U still haven't got the drift. Any money you borrowed a lady you are romantically linked with is good as gone. My philosophy: only borrow money you can afford to lose, so if it doesn't cone back, u won't cone here and write epistles. Inviting police is just raising more acrimony. Make up with her and keep gbenshing her till you are sure you have reached the 100k mark, then leave her. ![]() Cc nwaneni |
Dikimo:Then you are definitely a scam if you can't point out your professional qualifications. Am done talking to you. Anyone doing business with this character should tread with caution. |
Dikimo:Kindly give details about your qualifications and pedigree. That's all |
Look-wise, i prefer the pilot but at the end of the day, looks alone is not all that matters. So i will go with the Volvo for safety. Ruggedness and cheaper parts |
A corolla 03-06 should be OK. For me, i will go with an 09 civic american spec. Im not a Toyota fan boy. |
If the engine and interior is good, and i have the money, i wouldn't mind. With the high rate of kidnapping these days, it would be wise to travel the warri to port-harcourt highway in this, to avoid story that touch Go for it oride |
Dikimo:My brother, you are not talking to a lay-man. This is a subject i have vast knowledge about (let me not say more) I know you are moving towards the direction of business. Do you mind telling/showing us your qualifications and pedigree? This is not an all-comers field. It is a specialized field handled by professionals in that field. Im not against your hustle though, just prove your self and carry on |
It is true but not really a precise science, as in 100% . it increases the likelyhood of determining a particular chosen sex. to a very high degree. All these falls under assisted reproductive technique. But my grouse with op is he wanting to commercialize this. Cc Kusherkain Oluwaseon Okanube Kirchoff01. |
nwanneni:U are from Nneni? I was there for a burial in 2017. Cool zone |

Lexusgs430:I know u are doing this for sport. pre packed meal. U don ride bike or keke before? Pre pack meal. Lol DAT Kain job require eba / akpu |
Lexusgs430:Now this is alarming. Do u know how transport business operates? While he is far away from home shuttlling passengers from point to point he should now go back home to eat? What if he is a bachelor and didn't cook that day or doesn't even cook at all. Have you tried drinking garri and doing hard menial job? |
I don't know what i did to anger my mum. She hardly ever go angry but that day i flipped her and she let loose. I was still young probably primary6 or JS1. I was standing with a bowl of soup. Can't remember what i did to get her angry but she threw a book or slippers at me and it caught the bowl of soup in my hands and the soup poured on my laps. Funny thing was that i wasn't wearing pants( i was naked). The peppery soup got into my P$#%& and come see cry. ![]() My mum almost went berserk when she saw me sprawling on the ground yelling in agony A mother's love sha!I no dey forget that day ![]() |
Majesticniyi:My dad was sterling while i was growing up. Man sacrificed everything for us to go to school. Sometimes going without new clothes for so long coming from someone who was so fashionable in his younger days. Nowadays, i wonder how he managed to cater for three of us in the uni at once. Me sef dey struggle with one ![]() The man swore he will see us all through uni and he eventually did. The burden was just too much, probably reason he came down with stroke. I had so much fun memory with my dad. He took us to the airport to see and aeroplane, took ua aboard a ship after discussing with a captain at the Warri NPA. I remembered when our little tortoise car broke down on the highway. Dad just came down calmly and pushed the beetle aside while we, starry-eyed kids were reposed at the back seat. I can write a full book on times spent with dad. He taught me my love for book( i have such voracious appetite for knowledge). He had a small library. My dad taught me my love for music. We always wake up by 5 to music of oriental brothers, Donna summer, Abba, Jermaine Jackson, Jackson 5, kabaka etc. ![]() The only small incident i had with him was when i was in ss2 and i strolled past him with my sweetheart while returning from extra mural class. He sat outside watching me stroll by without saying a word. When i later bounced in after9pm, i received a dirty slap. I refused to eat that night. I renembered when i offended my mum. She threw a slippers at my and offset the plate of soup i was holding. The thing poured all over my lap and i wasn't weren't pant then. I saw oba that day as the pepper enter where he no supposed enter. Lol. Mum almost went mad when she saw me sprawled on the floor crying ![]() I also remembered when i had a little argument with dad. He was about traveling with mum. He drove away and returned back and mum said i should apologize to my father as he was not composed on the steering wheel. I apologized and we made up and they continued their trip. Rosarie i am sorry u had a bad time growing up. Not all men are that way, hence my little story above. Take care of ur kids and bear no grudge against your dad. Let him settle with his maker |
dicksonadams:Honda civic04-05. The 01-03 civics were proned to transmission issues. Or Mercedes Benz c class. (w202). These two will serve u well. U can check jiji but pleaaase shine ur eyes ![]() |
BeardedTraveler:I have even overlooked that fact. I simply love that car |
jaszplus12:I have thought about it but dropped the idea. I can't imagine getting up from home with the intention of going to buy a clock. I can't muster the willpower. ![]() On the other hand, i love wrist watch. The only way i can buy a wall clock is if i miraculously find my self in a clock shop with loose changes in my pocket. I was just kidding about the obsessive compulsive disorder. E never reach like that |
Guy ...no clock for my house. Never had a wall clock all my life. Not when i was single and not even now that I'm married. Just worried how u will feel when u visit me ![]() U are compulsively obsessed with wall clocks. See a psychologist ![]() Obsessive compulsive disorder loading ....just kidding u tho |
captainking:Most times, its always good to by a facelifted model. That's my opinion. In most case, nagging issues with the model are corrected in the facelift model |
