You will need a separate cc. In my experience tubular batteries need to be equalized at 64 volts and unfortunately the Axpert hybrid won't be able to reach that voltage. The cc matrix of the Axpert seems overwhelmed when you are using flooded batteries. My advise is get a separate cc or your batteries will fail within 6 to 10 months if solely using the hybrid inverter.

I am not planning to use solar now just inverter and tubular batteries and from your submission is better to stick to the icellpower 2kva inverter and then buy a charge controller when i upgrade to solar rather than use the axpert 2kva hybrid inverter which is more expensive and still buy a charge controller when i want to upgrade

Yes tubular batteries why can't the inverter charge it from mains and solar is it not hybrid again?

hopefully it doesn't take long for dstv to upgrade to 4k,but for now Netflix and youtube offer 4k content and most 4k TVs come with Netflix and youtube preinstalled.watched the last of us 2 e3 gameplay demo on my phone at 720p and on a 4k TV and the amount of extra detail was amazing.people with Xbox one x,ps4 pro and PCs with gtx 1070 and above will also be able to take advantage of it so 4k isn't a waste of money

What extra detail it's 720 p on a 4k TV to me its a downgrade. Also full 1080 HD in 4k is still a downgrade because as the 4k TV upscales some details are lost unless u prefer small viewing angle with black boarders. Watching a 720p on your phone that's 1080p to me will be much more detailed than watching on 4k TV. Best case scenario their won't be any noticeable difference. That 720 video will be better viewed on a 720p or 1080p state of the art tv

I use Samsung 42 inches led TV but with the help of hdmi.. I get ultra high definition resolutions..

See that someone. Using hdmi cable will still output the standard resolution if the video u are watching is standard to begin with so no difference. And if the video is full HD or from some games on ps4 pro or Xbox one x a uhd hdr enabled led tv will definitely be better than your Samsung TV. It has nothing to do with hdmi

Lol op said exactly said what's on my mind when I tried educating my friend on why 4k tv is rubbish and only serves for i pass my neighbor mentality. The reason I switched to led tv from my lcd was because of low power usage. We are not even fully ready for HD TV. How many hd channels are on dstv and the more it up scales the uglier it gets unless you love black boarders around your viewing screen. Yet someone above is claiming to get better resolution using hdmi, lol that's basic and that hdmi will still output rubbish resolution if the video is in rubbish resolution to begin with

Only if you take good care of them extremely well, regularly equalise them, ensure you keep up with water toping, and most importantly of all, you do not discharge them below 25% of their capacity, then and only them will those batteries stand a chance to still be kicking after 5 - 6 years of use.

an inverter here are what I would lookout for.
* Good reviews: Try and get something that is well known proven and has good reviews from users
* Support: This is very important, even the highly priced premium inverters do breakdown. It is important you get something that has good local support, investigate on the company and how close their support (not sales office) centre is to you, inverters are very bulky and heavy and it is often best to convey the system directly to the support centre, explain the issue yourself to the technician and properly test that it has been fixed before you take it back. A company with good support is more likely to honour their warranty compared to a marketing company masquerading as an engineering company. Remember you are dealing directly with the company not the person who sold the inverter to you (this is the best route to avoid unnecessary delays and frustration.
* Get an inverter that works with your battery. You want to get a Tubular battery (which is a Flooded Acid Battery -FLA) those batteries require regular equalisation at least once a month. Not all inverters are capable of equalising so keep that in mind
* If you intend to power computer (not laptop) or network switches, make sure the inverter has what is known as ups mode. This allows the inverter to switch between mains and backup in less than 10 milliseconds, anything higher would not lead to a smooth transition when power fails.
* of cause charge capacity is important as you have already figured out.
Some inverters have the ability to charge your batteries when they are off this can come in handy say when you are out of the house and would prefer to turn off your inverter to save battery discharge.

* Another important factor to consider is the efficiency of the inverter, some inverters are notoriously inefficient in converting DC to AC. some use as much as 100w just sitting idle (Thats about 4A at 24v) which means if you have a 200AH battery bank. Turning on the inverter for 10 hours would use 40ah from your battery bank (about 20% of your bank just to power the inverter)

Thanks. I stay in Nnewi Anambra state and I don't know any office supplying and keeping after sales service. Hence I might need to purchase it online. Sometimes some of the specs you mentioned are not readily available to see as some information are hardly gotten online. Hence my explicit need to have brands suggested for me. I'm looking at 2kva icell power and looking to purchase it online before months end. Would appreciate any other better alternatives within my budget

Boss those 'online' prices are actually the maximum that you should aim to pay. I was deliberate in putting up these prices as a guide so you wouldn't be shafted.

You should aim to reach out to the sellers you like on here and negotiate and get a better deal than online prices. Even with companies like ICellPower you can reach out to an internal contact offline and negotiate a better deal than the posted online price.

Can i get the 2kva icellpower less than 90k? Do you have any contacts?

Perhaps 2 units of Luminous Inverlast Tubular Batteries (12v 220Ah) at ~110k each coupled with

1) 12v VilPower 1kw @ ~70k - 12v will restrict you if you want to go solar later OR

2) 24v 2Kva IcellPower @ ~90k OR

3) 24v Zinox IpowerPlus @ ~140k - already has a solar charge controller built in but nothing spectacular

Those are the first options that come to mind, other folks would know other good options - again you dont really need a 2kva inverter to run 300watts loads so perhaps smaller sizes?

If you choose a flooded battery please be aware that there is significant maintenance effort required - watering to keep fluid levels up, greasing terminals to prevent corrosion also a lot of washing and greasing for your hands and tools else the acid eats everything up - I suppose you could buy gloves but I haven't yet seen anyone who actually wears them while working with flooded batteries.

Thanks for reply i opted for 2kva with plans to add a refrigerator, 32 or 40 inch lcd or led tv and ps4 later with the solar. I read that tubular batteries are good for up to 8 years that's the main reason I opted for them. Because money is hard to come by.

Hello house I have a budget of 350k looking for the best inverter and tubular batteries that will last. Planning to put up solar later. Inverter will be 2kva. Was checking out Indian inverters (microtek, sukam, luminous) until I saw their charging current and was discouraged. I'm currently eyeing icellpower but I want to avoid stories that touch pls help a brother with a good brand and good brand of affordable lasting tubular batteries too. My load will be about 300watts and I'm sure of 4 hours light daily at least at night. Thanks.

Op if your car has a thermostat (which i believe it does). It will take the same amount of time to get the engine at its optimum temp regardless on whether fan is on all the time or when needed. Reason is simple. Thermostat only opens to allow cool water at a particular temp and will open and close when coolant is hot and cold so the disadvantage of running your fan directly is increased wear and tear of fan engines and maybe a slight rise in engine performance to accommodate fan running always

Subscribed for dstv compact for 6300 3 days ago after about 2 yrs and although the dstv customer care I called says the subscription is active, I have called them about numerous times with different resets done and the latest solution is to visit their office which is miles away, I can't view any channels because I'm getting E30-4 error.
